Most of us know how to behave properly in a gym, but all too often weirdness prevails. I have pet peeves, and I'm sure you do, too. Let's discuss. Thanks for listening! Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/figarellesfitness
Life in Alaska poses many challenges, especially during the winter season. We experience months of cold weather, heavy snowfall and long, dark days from mid-October to late-April. Instead of hibernating on my couch, I've learned to embrace the cold and darkness by getting out in it as much as I can. Here are a few tips, tricks and book recommendations to help you avoid seasonal affective disorder and actually enjoy the winter months. Thanks for listening! Instagram: https://www.in...

We share content across several different platforms and I wanted to take a moment to share those resources in this short episode. In addition to our socials, we offer a complimentary consultation call for potential clients who are interested in learning more about what we do and see if we're a good fit. To schedule your call, please send us a message through our website. Thanks for listening! Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/figarellesfitness
Compulsive doom scrolling on your phone, constantly watching the news, and worrying about issues beyond our control have become what keeps most people from ever achieving their fitness goals. Petty distractions are everywhere, and if we're not careful, we can easily become derailed for months or even years. Turn off the noise, and focus on what really matters to you. Supplements can be controversial for a variety of reasons; they're expensive, potentially unnecessary (depending on the person and their goals), and the safety and efficacy of some are debatable. All that to say, I rely on a handful of supplements every day to assist in the attainment of my fitness goals. In this episode, I share what I'm currently taking and what I have found to be the best supplements for helping me reach my goals. Thanks for listening! Instagram: https://www.instagra...
I've noticed a trend lately where people aren't communicating as well as they used to. As far as coaching goes, you will get the best results when you show up with curiosity and ask questions (then apply what you learn). Becoming a strong communicator is an art. It takes practice and lots of conversations and mindset shifts. In this episode, I share two books I believe everyone should read, especially if you're currently working with or planning to hire a personal trainer in the future....
The end of the year is a good time to prioritize tasks that we've been putting off for too long. I discovered the 26 by 2026 productivity challenge, and wanted to share it. I'm also reading a fun book called The Art of Gathering. I have learned so much from this book already, and highly recommend it teachers, coaches, personal trainers, party hosts, and anyone in a position to level up their group activities. Your goals help guide the program you'll need to follow to reach your health and fitness goals. Don't contact a personal trainer until you have clearly defined fitness goals you're excited about. A trainer can help clarify a few things for you, but they can't tell you what you should be excited about. That's on you. A good coach will be honest about what they can realistically do for you, and then it's your job to show up, and do the work. A lot of people will just hit Google and contac...
At the time of recording this episode, we have 56 days left in 2025. This is the perfect time to assess the way things have gone this year, establish and align with your personal values, and set new goals. You still have plenty of time to make the changes you want to make before the year is over. Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/figarellesfitness
It's been a while! I've got a new episode for you today discussing the controversial weight-loss drug, Ozempic, sharing my philosophy on the benefits I've seen with longterm fitness coaching, and new stuff I'm digging into regarding injury rehab and running. Thanks for listening! Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/figarellesfitness
It's a choice to wander through life aimlessly. We've all done it. If you're tired of "trying hard," with very little to show for it, it's time to stop and pay closer attention to what you're doing (or not doing). In this episode I discuss my system for getting clear about what I want and more importantly, WHY I want it. If you've worked with me in the past, you already know what I'm going to say. But you should still listen to this episode. Thanks for being here! Instagram: https://www...
When your primary goal is fat loss, it's important to develop new habits and skills that support the outcome you want. This won't happen if you don't take weighing, measuring and tracking calories seriously- at least for a few months so you can learn the value of a calorie. In this episode, I discuss how to wean yourself off tracking calories so you don't have to do it forever. As we get deeper into summer, it's not wise to forgo your strength training workouts for other activities. This does...

In this episode I share some ideas around including more balance and stability exercises in your training routine. Balance is one of those "use it or lose it" skills, so it needs to be a part of your program indefinitely if you want to keep or improve it. Adopting a non-judgmental attitude toward your capabilities (or temporary lack thereof) is paramount for success. We'll also discuss some fun gear I recently discovered! Hope you're all well. I'm a big fan of self-reliance, specifically as it pertains to starting your own business and designing your life the way you want to live it. There's a lot of loud, scary noise bombarding us all right now, and it can feel discouraging. In this episode, I discuss opting out of the chaos, guarding your mind from the toxicity of extremes and trusting your inner voice. Thanks for listening! In this episode I discuss the importance of having the right attitude when pursuing your goals. Far too often I hear people complaining, becoming negative, and getting impatient, then quitting when things become too challenging. I see this in all areas of life, not just fitness. This is how you "fail." You quit. Your attitude drives you forward, or pulls you down. You choose. Ideal training splits depend on several variables; your goals, how much time you have, your schedule, and ...
I'm working on a passionate project that's been living rent free in my head for too long. It's time to get it going. In this episode I share what I'm up to, and a bit about the community experience I had over the weekend. I love finding my people, and this new project has connected me with some awesome folks. I'm excited to see the impact we can make. Thanks for listening! Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/figarellesfitness
