In Episode 288, I sit down with Jenn Hinton. Jenn and I first met when we hired her as our dog trainer, and over the years that professional relationship turned into a real friendship. In Episode 285, I sit down with father–son jiu-jitsu black belts Jeff and Aaron Tiegs. It's wild how small the world is—Aaron and I first connected through jiu-jitsu, and I've had him up to train my athletes a couple of times because he's an exceptional grappler and instructor. Last week, when he came up to teach, he brought his father Jeff with him. Jeff and I quickly realized we were Rangers together back in 2000 at Alpha Company, 2/75. I was a private and he was the company Executive Officer. Obviously, with that rank gap, we didn't forge a friendship back then, but he was an exceptional Ranger who was respected by everyone. In Episode 282, I sit down with Chris Vasil and Bilal Hasan — two local professional fighters out of Charlie's Combat Club here in Everett, WA, who also cross-train at my jiu-jitsu academy. When I was younger, I trained for many years with their head coach, Charlie Pearson, and our gyms have always shared a great relationship.
