In this episode you will find out more about Daniela's journey moving to the UK with her studies; the process of adapting; being part of a community and giving back to the community (she was one of the main organizers of a Student Gala: Gala Studentilor Originari din Republica Moldova with the aim of opening more opportunities to Moldovans studying abroad). She also talked about her experience of working at Google and the process of finding a job there. By the way, we are not advertising Google, but Daniela thoroughly enjoyed her experience there. Meanwhile, they moved with the family to the Hong Kong, where they welcomed their second child. Daniela spoke about how she finds HK from rent to childcare; to nature and other aspects of living there. Daniela also founded a business that combines her passion for technology and beauty: Me Time Ritual, that already won the Best New Device category at the PURE Beauty Awards 2025. Meet Alec and Victor Zama, who were born and grew up in the village of Cobani in Moldova, had interesting journeys along the way and for a few good years now have been doing a lot of great work to improve the lives of the Cobani community, as well as other villages in Moldova. They are running one charity each and are in a fruitful partnership, while understanding each other's strengths and weaknesses in order to have a greater positive impact. . In my quest to find a way to recycle my very old laptop (which wasn't even mine, I was given this laptop by my ex partner), I came across this company which made my task easier.
I was a bit sentimental about this laptop and it is the laptop that I started my podcast Moldovan Abroad on it during the one year motorhome travel (testimony to the fact that you don't need a sophisticated studio or expensive gear if you can't afford it).
But it was time to let it go so a quick search led me to CPR Computer Recycling. This is not an ad, I just liked their services. They do free collection for businesses & schools, as an individual you have to book a courier, but it wasn't expensive and they erase your personal data as well and profits go to charity.
