This is the podcast that launched a spinoff! We talk about Voyager!!! This show focuses on the 24th century adventures of Captain Kathryn Janeway aboard the U.S.S. Voyager. Its crew complement is only 150. The ship itself is fast and powerful, and has the ability to land on a planet’s surface. While other Star Trek shows mostly functioned on a episode-by-episode basis, Deep Space Nine (DS9) was the first to stray from the norm and create a more consistent storyline. Plots build up for multiple episodes, then culminate at the end of a season. This made it feel more like a sci-fi drama than just a sci-fi adventure show. Eric and I dig into one of our favorite stand alone episodes, making the return of the Tribbles! The animated comedy series STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS follows the support crew on one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner (Tawny Newsome), Boimler (Jack Quaid), Rutherford (Eugene Cordero) and Tendi (Noël Wells) have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies. It's another fun sci-fi ride for us and the second animated series in a row! Christel has been so excited to share this with me! It is Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which is an animated television series set between the events of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. The series aired on Cartoon Network for five seasons from 2008 to 2013, while an abridged sixth season was released through Netflix in 2014. It was on July 19, 2018, an announcement came out that twelve more episodes would be produced for the Disney+ streaming service. Which were, finally, released beginning in February 2020 and ended on May 4, 2020. Christel and I had a layover together so we watched Project Runway Season 16 Episode 6: 'Models Off Duty.' No one says it better than Entertainment Weekly when it comes to setting-up an episode, "It must be rough to be a model. Even on your day off, you have to worry about what you’re wearing. Even if you’re wearing a sweatshirt, you have to wear a high-fashion one with peplum shorts. After all, you have to Instagram every moment of your life when you’re a model.
