Welcome to a new episode of the Esk Podcasts. With the Friedkin's effecting change across the senior levels of the club both on and off the pitch, it was no surprise that they looked for, and successfully appointed a brand new CEO. That person is Angus Kinnear, now former CEO at Leeds United where he spent eight years, initially addressing many of the problems all to familiar with Everton fans, inconsistent ownership and poor financial management. Despite that and elsewhere, Angus has proven himself to be a shrewd operator, an excellent driver of commercial growth, and above all else, a person of integrity and good governance.Sit back and listen to BBC Leeds' Adam Pope as he gives his insight to the eight years Angus spent at Leeds United. As many will know Adam is a fanatic toffee and has a real knowledge of football as well as a passion for us Blues.Thank you Adam for your time and contribution. Hosted on Acast. Welcome to a slightly different podcast from me, Paul Quinn. Whilst normally I cover Everton Football Club, today I venture into the world of Lancashire Country Cricket Club with Alan Higham. Alan will be known to many cricket fans and cricket journalists as an ardent Lancastrian and follower of the England men's team. Having watched cricket in 50 or so test match grounds his experience and commitment is huge.In this episode we look at governance in cricket and particularly Lancashire County Cricket and it may be no surprise to find very similar issues to those we face in football. Thanks for listening and your feedback is most welcome. A transcript will follow in due course. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
I get together with Matt Slater of the Athletic to chat with Bart Huby of LCP Actuaries whose football analytics division has produced a recent report on football finances entitled "Bigger, better but also riskier". The report can be found on the link below. We have a really passionate discussion, primarily focused on the findings of Bart's and LCP's insightful report on football finances but looked through the eyes of two passionate supporters of lower league clubs, Bart as a Tranmere Rovers fan and Matt as a long suffering, but hopefully more optimistic Southend United fan seeing better times ahead. We look at the attractions of lower league football from a fan and owner perspective. Additionally we look at the financial relationship between the Premier League, the EFL and lower leagues. With Everton's takeover issues current we look at the market for football clubs, valuations and governance,Thanks for listening, and thanks for the expertise and passion both Bart and Matt bring to the subject. We hope you enjoy it!A full transcript of the podcast is available here Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Our objectives centre on engaging with Farhad Moshiri, the Everton majority shareholder, to discuss the failings of the club and to create change. Change which leads us back to success once more. Most importantly, the space gives a platform for Evertonians near and far to have their say. Not everyone agreed but we have 17 Evertonians join us on this occasion. Thanks for listening, and thanks for supporting the #27years campaign! Hosted on Acast. The 27years Campaign

The 27years Campaign

2022-01-1235:24

Today I am joined by Rodger Armstrong to discuss the #27years campaign and why the messaging and target of that messaging is so important to the prospects of change at Everton. The campaign is predicated on the belief that only Farhad Moshiri can make the changes to people and systems within Everton that will result in us being successful once more. To be clear that doesn't mean he runs the football club, but he puts professionals and a structure in place that can build a modern, successful, trophy winning, dominant football club. The podcast acknowledges that the Everton supporter base must through this campaign and all the other supporter groups and campaigns work to bring about the necessary changes. In the podcast, we ask Farhad Moshiri the 5 fundamental questions about making the club a "winning" organisation once more. Thanks for listening and your feed back is very welcome either to me or the #27years campaign itself Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
In the post Derby Talking the Blues Podcast we talked about Moshiri's role at the club over the last six years. Apologies that this is largely a (15 minute) monologue but I think it is important for Moshiri to recognise, acknowledge and act upon the following. "We (the fans) have an emotional investment in the club, Moshiri has a financial investment. Our interests are totally aligned. We want a return on out (respective) investments"It's vital that Moshiri responds to our investment in our club and engages and communicates with Everton fans as to how he intends reversing the regression currently experienced by the club. Allowing the same people to do the same things will not improve the club's position. He has to act and he has to communicate. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
