We chat about various methods of composting at home and about the importance of microbial diversity. Brian has dedicated his life to becoming the best farmer he possibly can be. He is mission-driven to help others have success in growing food and medicinal crops for their communities and their families. He is passionate about finding solutions to help farmers become more regenerative and profitable. Brian has wholeheartedly spent over a decade working on farms, heritage orchards, cattle ranches, doing landscaping, and designing home gardens and farms around Arizona, California, and the Midwest. He has also spent time working in Kenya to help build farms and provide fresh water for children's homes and churches with Love Mercy Organization. Periodically he teaches agricultural classes with Earth Citizens Organization Farm in Cottonwood Arizona. He studied Permaculture Design at Oregon State University, Korean Natural Farming with Chris Trump, Microbial Density and Diversity Analysis with Dr. Mary Lucero, as well as Microscopy and the Soil Food Web with Dr. Elaine Ingham. He embodies the philosophy of working with the rhythms of Nature and allowing it to be a conduit to become a better human being. If you haven’t noticed, things have been shifting among the collective of society over the last couple of years and many folks, including myself, find themselves hitting the reset button on what they do for a living… or are struggling to make ends meet. Others are simply drawn to the idea of a DIY approach. I’m one of those people as well. I do my own electrical, build my own sheds, make my own beard balm, build my own fences & gates & work on my own truck unless it’s crazy. The point is there are a lot of us out there who desire to learn organic natural farming techniques and in my opinion, Marco is one of the best to look up to. We wanted to chat about specific nutrient deficiencies but quickly realized that without pictures or real plants in front of us on video it’s difficult to go over each deficiency verbally. It’s also difficult to describe a plan of action being there are different grow styles out there. A how-to of each deficiency is subjective depending on how you grow. An organic grower is going to respond differently than a synthetic grower, and so on. I think the conversation is still pretty good and I think there are some valuable nuggets to chew on regarding a proactive approach to inspecting your plants, catching things early and paying attention to your pH. If you happen to be a hash or concentrate nerd, this episode is totally for you. Mr.AutoGrow is a home grower of both photoperiod and autoflower cannabis. He shares with us how he produces live rosin, which is a solventless concentrate (and when I say solventless I really mean no dangerous chemicals, his solvent is literally water)... anyway it’s a concentrate made from pressing bubble hash derived from freshly frozen flower. He’s currently in transition to grow mostly photoperiods but has some excellent knowledge and information for us that you concentrate lovers are gonna enjoy. I apologize for the echo you may hear in some parts.
