It’s like Hamlet, but it makes kids cry! This week Raven and Campbell welcome the incredible, radiant, incomparable big sister, Jasmine. Together they discuss family betrayals, colorism in children’s movies, and hot Simba in the 1994 animated film, The Lion King.   Sarabi Sour Recipe: - 2 oz whiskey of choice - 2 oz lemon juice - 1.5 oz ginger-spice simple syrup  - 2 tbsp aquafaba Combine in a shaker with ice and strain over ice. Garnish with your favorite sour gummy worms and other grubs.   Ginger Spice Syrup: - 1 cup water - 1 cup sugar - 0.5 oz peeled, sliced ginger root - 1 cinnamon stick - 0.5 tsp ground nutmeg Bring water to a boil over high heat. Add sugar and combine until fully dissolved. Add remaining ingredients and reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 10 minutes. This week Raven and Campbell discuss Whitney Houston bops, color blind casting, and the absolute TALENT in the 1997 film remake of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.   12:01 Recipe: - 3 oz milk of choice - 2 oz brandy - 1 oz amaretto - 1.5 tbsp pumpkin puree - 0.5 oz maple syrup - whipped cream Combine brandy, amaretto, puree, and syrup in a shaker with ice. Pour over ice, top with milk and whipped cream. (We miss you Erin)   Not Your Daddies’ Sangria Recipe: - 1 bottle dry white wine - 1 grapefruit sliced - 1 lime sliced - 1 lemon sliced - 1/4 cup peach schnapps - 1/4 cup Metaxa brandy or Ouzo - fresh mint - Soda water Combine everything except the soda water in a pitcher and refrigerate for at least a few hours. This week Raven and Campbell discuss living in the city, Broadway legends, and the impact of Jonathan Larson on the musical theatre community in the 2021 film adaptation of tick, tick…BOOM!   Natty Boho Recipe: - 1.5 oz whiskey - 0.5 oz chartreuse - 1 oz elderflower simple syrup* - 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice - seltzer water   Combine ingredients (sans seltzer) in a shaker with ice, pour into a pint glass and top with seltzer.   *Syrup is 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, peel of 1 lemon, ½ tsp fresh rosemary, 2 oz elderflower liqueur, 4 Earl Grey tea bags. Bring water, lemon peel, and rosemary to a boil, then add in sugar and stir until fully dissolved. Add hot water then stir in honey till dissolved. Don’t ride elephants. This week, Raven and Campbell talk about exploitation, modern musical numbers, and almost having a good message in the 2017 musical film The Greatest Showman.   The Balancing Act Recipe: - 1 oz vodka, plain or flavor of choice - 0.5 oz blue curacao - 0.5 oz Campari - 1 oz Grenadine - 1.5 oz strawberry liqueur - 1 oz honey-brown sugar simple syrup Combine blue curacao and vodka in a small container and set aside. Combine strawberry liqueur, grenadine, and campari in a tumbler then add ice. Using a spoon, slowly pour the syrup onto the bottom layer, followed by the vodka mixture. Simple Syrup Recipe: - 1 cup water - 1 cup honey - ¼ cup brown sugar, dark or light Add water to a saucepan and bring to a low boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, add brown sugar, and stir until fully dissolved. Remove from heat and add honey, stirring until fully combined. Strain into a martini glass   Baby's Bottle: - 2 cups milk of choice - 1 cup cream liqueur - 1/4 cup whiskey - 1/4 cup honey Add milk and cream liqueur to a small saucepan and heat thoroughly over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and add honey and whiskey, stirring slowly until combined. Add two grape juice ice cubes to a frosted tumbler or margarita glass. Slowly pour cocktail mixture over ice cubes.
