We kick off the show with the news that Fallout has been renewed at Amazon. Then Ryan shares his thoughts on the Backbone One USB-C Gen 2 controller, which he has been using with Apple Arcade, Remote Play apps, and the new Delta emulator. As for specific games, Ryan checks out a new rougelite in Early Access called Shadow of the Depth. Moving into the news, PlayStation looks set to have a PS5 Pro this Fall with Enhanced games, PC gamers have a new overlay to look forward to with trophies, and Embracer splits into three “and Friends” companies.

Like most we have Fallout on the brain with Season 1 dropping on Amazon Prime. But before that Ryan concludes his watch through of Halo Season 2. Jocelyn shares her adventures in Hearthstone Battlegrounds Duos. Over in the news we FINALLY know who will voice Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, a certain someone thinks games should have tip screens, Ubisoft makes not so great headlines with Star Wars Outlaws, and Take-Two announces layoffs while cancelling unspecified projects.
We've got sequels on the brain as Ryan checks in on Master Chief and friends with Season 2 of Halo on Paramount+, while both Jocelyn and Ryan discuss further adventures in Alan Wake 2. Over in the news, Apple is opening up the App Store to retro game emulators, Xbox is moving ahead with a next-gen Xbox, our favourite stuff from the Triple-i game showcase, and we have a new story trailer for Star Wars Outlaws.
After a week off, we return with brand new video games to discuss! Jocelyn guides Peach through her latest adventure in Princess Peach: Showtime! Ryan on the other hand spreads democracy, liberty, and freedom through the universe in Helldivers 2. Moving over to the news, we have our first look at Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, Marvel Rivals looks an awful lot like Overwatch, Take-Two will acquire Gearbox from Embracer, and Discord will have ads soon in the form of Sponsored Quests.

Ryan branches out from Fire Emblem to enjoy the newest strategy tactics game with Unicorn Overlord on Xbox Series X. Jocelyn on the hand catches us up on Hearthstone with the latest expansion Whizbang's Workshop. We have some great news this week as Activision QA workers form the largest video game union yet and we have confirmation that Saber has escaped the clutches of Embracer. Wrapping up the news, we go over the improved Steam Families feature that is now in beta, and the Verge has a report about the PS5 Pro capabilities.
Ryan returns to a galaxy far, far away and completes his journey through Star Wars Jedi Survivor. Meanwhile, Jocelyn battles timeouts in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League and the ding desert on Warcraft Rumble. We have plenty of news to catch up on as Yuzu and Nintendo reach a settlement in their lawsuit, EA lays off 690 workers, Saber and Toys For Bob escape their corporate overlords, Warner Bros wants more free to play and less AAA, Frostpunk 2 gets a July release date, Nintendo celebrates Mar10 Day with a few announcements, and Amazon Prime has a new Fallout trailer.
We've got plenty of news to discuss this week, as Jocelyn and Ryan think about renaming the news section to "Layoffs and Lawsuits". But before that mess, Ryan has been mining to survive in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, while Jocelyn played the very complex sounding (and looking) board game Eclipse. As we move into the news, we catch up on the Nintendo Partner Showcase that unveiled 2 of the 4 Xbox Studios games arriving on other platforms, Pokemon Company celebrates Pokemon Day with a few announcements, and we have our first full trailer for the Borderlands movie. In the layoffs category, PlayStation will be laying off 900 staff, and for lawsuits, Nintendo is suing Yuzu. To end on a more fun note, we got our first look at the Elden Ring DLC launching in June!
Who's ready to talk about video games? We are! Ryan updates us all on the TGI Game Club for The Last of Us Part I as they wrap up the main game and prepare for the DLC. Jocelyn on the other hand follows Dead by Daylight dev Behaviour Interactive over to Islands of Insight, which they published. Finally, Ryan jumps between new phone and PlayStation 5 with Honkai Star Rail. In the news, it's all about waiting, as Nintendo may not launch the Switch successor until March 2025, the next Nintendo Direct will be a Partner Showcase, a Pokemon Presents airs next week, and the Borderlands movie spins up the marketing machine as we speed towards their summer release.
This week we delve into known and unknown territory for The Gamers' Inn. First up, into the unknown as Ryan recounts his adventures in Star Citizen. Then we travel back to Dead by Daylight with Jocelyn's experience with the limited time mode Lights Out. Over in the news, and the main reason for a later in the week episode, Xbox had that business announcement, Sony confirms no major first party games before March 2025, Embracer continues to be the worst, and Princess Peach Showtime has a few new outfits!
We kick off the show with Jocelyn’s update on befriending everyone in Coral Island, then her experience with Lil Guardsman. Also as promised, Ryan and Jocelyn journey into Alan Wake II, discussing the first few chapters that introduce Saga Anderson and Alex Casey. Over in the news, we mentally prepare alongside the rest of the Internet as Microsoft will announce “Xbox business plans” next week, SONIC NEWS, and Disney invests $1.5 billion into Epic to create an expansive and open games/entertainment universe.
We start the week a bit late so we can catch up on the latest announcements from PlayStation on the first State of Play for 2024. But before we get to all the news, Ryan has been enjoying Lil' Guardsman on Steam Deck, while Jocelyn has been trying to make friends with everyone in Coral Island. Back to the news, Xbox reveals some 2024 plans in the latest Developer Direct, then lays off 1,900 staff from Activision Blizzard King and Xbox.
Ryan can't help but check out Palworld on Xbox Game Pass as his subscription comes to an end in a matter of days. While Jocelyn returns to Sea of Thieves to report back on Season 11 and the creation of a TGI Guild! Over in the news, we focus on 2024 video games we're looking forward to, while also chatting about the announcement that Until Dawn will be getting a movie adaptation.
Ryan wraps up his Cookie Cutter Metroidvania adventure with a little help from his PC. He also shares a hardware recommendation with the 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4G Controller. Jocelyn returns this week with an update on Disney’s Dreamlight Valley and the Rift in Time expansion. In video game news, Season 2 of Halo gets an official trailer, Smite Night may return in the future with Smite 2, and Frostpunk 2 shows off its gameplay for the first time.
Jocelyn is out this week, so Travis joins Ryan to get an update on all the holiday gaming that went on. Ryan returns to Darkest Dungeon II on his Steam Deck for The Binding Blade DLC, and also checks out a new Metroidvania game called Cookie Cutter. Over in the news, Sony provides an update on various adaptations, Xbox announces their first Developer Direct of the year, and The Last of Us on HBO casts their Abby.
It's been a busy year for video games, and a busy year for the innkeepers at The Gamers' Inn! But that won't stop us from going over our favourite games of 2023. We kick things off with our Top 5 Picks, followed by Honourable Mentions. Then we go over the games we missed this year. Finally, we close the show with a look at some favourites from the community! With our second to last 2023 episode of TGI, Ryan squeezes in some virtual reality zombie slaying with Arizona Sunshine 2, and Jocelyn eagle dives into Assassin's Creed Mirage. Then before tackling The Game Awards winners and announcements, we discuss the announcement that E3 is officially no longer happening.
Jocelyn has returned! To welcome her back to the show, Ryan shares his latest adventure in the SteamWorld franchise with SteamWorld Build. Jocelyn on the other hand has been enjoying portable gaming with little Olivia, with both Hearthstone and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Moving into the news, we have our first trailer for the Fallout Amazon Prime series, Phil Spencer says no to Game Pass on Nintendo and PlayStation platforms, and GTA VI receives it's first official trailer.
Beau Schwartz from the CORE podcast returns to the inn to update us on his adventures with Blizzard properties of old, including StarCraft 2 and World of Warcraft Classic + Hardcore Mode. Also it wouldn’t be a Beau appearance without some VR chat, discussing Assassins Creed Nexus VR and the new Meta Quest 3 headset. Ryan on the other hand brings a physical card game to the show with Scott Johnson’s Dungeon Murder. Plus a recently launched out of early access Backpack Hero. In the news, Marvel Snap tries to reassure players that they don’t want to go, Tribes 3 will enter large scale player testing soon, and we have our first look at the Fallout TV series.
This week Firebyrd from The Gamers' Inn Discord guests on the show to bring the Disgaea franchise to the podcast with it's latest release. Firebyrd has also been playing Picross games on the 3DS and checked out Super Mario RPG on the Wii U Virtual Console. This leads into what Ryan has been busy with since the 17th: the Super Mario RPG Remake on Nintendo Switch! After wrapping up the remake talk, we move over to Worldless, a brand new 2D platforming, turn based action game. Moving into the news Blizzard gives Heroes of the Storm fans hope with yet another patch, The Last of Us franchise is getting another re-release with the remaster of Part II on PS5, and Embracer continues it's downward spiral.
A scorned Crofton from Dungeons and Diapers guests on the show after being bounced around on the schedule a bit, but once we sort through that mess we're ready to talk about Crofton getting a PlayStation 5 for Spider-Man 2! Ryan on the other hand has been enjoying The Invincible on PlayStation 5, and You Will Die Here Tonight on Steam. Moving into the news, Steam Deck is getting an OLED upgrade and The Game Awards has announced their nominations.
