Encore: original airdate 3-16-2026. On today's 'BradCast':  Donald Trump's war of distraction against Iran is not going well, as Iran continues its entirely predictable effective shutdown of the vital Strait of Hormuz. New developments over the weekend include Trump lifting sanctions against Russian oil, despite Russia reportedly helping Iran target US assets. Trump is also using his failure overseas as cover to target, endanger and threaten Americans on the home front. Trump invoked the Defense Production Act to force the re-opening of a deteriorating oil pipeline that is responsible for one of the worst oil spills in California history back in 2015. Attorney TALIA NIMMER of the nonprofit Center for Biological Diversity explains why the move to pre-empt state law for a single company is unprecedented, why it's a bad idea to restart pipeline and other decrepit oil infrastructure, and much more. Callers weigh in.
Encore: original airdate 3/11/2026. On today's 'BradCast':  In Tuesday's primary and special elections, Democrats continued to outperform their 2024 election results by significant margins, flipping a state assembly seat in New Hampshire and forcing a runoff in a Georgia special election to replace retired GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene. Fort Worth, Texas pollworkers express serious concerns about unverifiable electronic voting machines causing long voting delays in recent elections. Donald Trump's disastrous War on Iran continues to wreak global havoc with no end in sight, as the White House tries to convince struggling Americans that 'short-term pain is necessary for long-term gain.' Roosevelt University political scientist and Middle East expert DAVID FARIS discusses the foreign and domestic implications of Trump's war and potential impacts on the critical 2026 midterm elections.
On today's 'BradCast': A stunning victory in Donald Trump's home district in Florida, where Democratic candidate Emily Gregory flipped a long-held Republican state assembly seat, continuing the trend of Democrats flipping red seats to blue across the country. Trump insists he is 'winning' the war he launched against Iran, even as he sends thousands more US troops to the region and is flailing in attempts to broker any kind of ceasefire agreement. Iran demanded reparations for war damage by the U.S. and control of the Strait of Hormuz before considering any deal. Salon columnist HEATHER DIGBY PARTON and 'DRIFTGLASS' of the Professional Left Podcast offer insight, analysis, context, history, and hilarity on Trump's ill-advised war, the looming danger to the global economy, the 2026 midterm elections, and much more.
On today's 'BradCast':  In a bizarre development in California, a Republican sheriff-turned-gubernatorial candidate seized 650,000 ballots to conduct an 'investigation' into baseless fraud allegations in the state's Prop 50 redistricting special election. Trump-backed North Carolina Republican state senate leader lost the GOP primary by 23 votes. Donald Trump voted by mail in Florida then falsely attacked voting by mail. Slate's great court reporter MARK JOSEPH STERN explains what happened in US Supreme Court oral arguments on Monday, in which the Republican National Committee is suing to block state laws that allow the counting of late-arriving mail ballots. Stern discusses the absurd legal arguments and hypotheticals raised by the far-right justices, why states include grace periods, the implications for the critical 2026 midterm elections, and much more. Plus Desi Doyen has our new 'Green News Report.'
On today's 'BradCast':  Donald Trump chickened out of this threat to bomb Iran's civilian power plants if they didn't open the Strait of Hormuz trade route, claiming talks with Iran were going well. Iran says there are no talks. Trump issued a classless, degenerate statement celebrating the death of former FBI Director Robert Mueller, a war hero and decades-long public servant.  JOHN BERGMAYER of nonprofit watchdog Public Knowledge explains the corrupt Trump FCC's new decision to waive longstanding limits on corporate media ownership to justify approving an unlawful merger between two massive networks, Nexstar and Tegna, which will allow the new, conservative-leaning mega-conglomerate to reach an unprecedented 80% of American homes. Bergmayer explains how the merger could raise costs, limit Americans' access to diverse viewpoints, damage democracy, and more. Callers weigh in.
Encore:  original airdate 2-24-2026. On today's 'BradCast':  New reporting confirms that FBI documents from the Epstein Files are missing from the trove released by the Justice Department under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which detail serious allegations against Donald Trump. Democrats on the House Oversight Committee confirm that the DOJ 'appears to have illegally withheld FBI interviews,' and announced a new parallel investigation, calling it 'the single largest cover-up in modern American history.'  HAROLD FELD of the non-profit group Public Knowledge explains new authoritarian actions by Trump's FCC Chair Brendan Carr, instructing broadcasters to air 'pro-America' programming; threats that have intimidated major networks into changing their programming; why he feels 'this is a critically dangerous moment for our First Amendment freedoms'; and much more. Plus Desi Doyen has our new 'Green News Report.'
On today's 'BradCast': New report on democracy around the world warns that authoritarianism is on the rise everywhere, and the speed with which American democracy is currently being dismantled is 'unprecedented' in modern history. The report found that elections provide a pivotal opportunity to stop autocracy, and 'the first electoral cycle was often decisive.' The Trump Administration has a new strategy to kill U.S. wind energy: pay an offshore wind company $1 billion in public funds to NOT build any wind farms -- during an energy crisis. Judge orders Trump Administration to restore Voice of America to the airwaves around the world and reinstate more than 1,000 VOA employees. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard tried to dodge senators' questions on whether Iran posed an 'imminent' threat. Plus Desi Doyen has our new 'Green News Report.'
On today's 'BradCast': There were many notable election results in the Illinois statewide 2026 primary on Tuesday; the primary was absolutely inundated with a tidal wave of campaign cash, much of it from dark money organizations hiding their true ideological purpose behind innocuous-sounding names. Predictably, many legacy media outlets downplayed the flood of money in favor of a narrative suggesting division between progressives and establishment Democrats, which was not supported by voting data. Fossil fuel prices are skyrocketing due to Donald Trump's War on Iran, even he has gutted renewable energy production and manufacturing in the US. Ryan Cooper of 'The American Prospect' explains how the rest of the world is catching on to the fact that domestically-produced, cheap renewable energy is now a national security imperative for every nation (including ours), and much more.
On today's 'BradCast':  Bizarre weather extremes are pummeling the U.S., including torrential rains that swept away homes in Maui, Hawaii. In California, a judge upheld an injunction blocking the restart of a decrepit oil pipeline, but the Trump Administration ignored the court and state law to force it open again. All four living former US presidents deny Donald Trump's claims that one of them expressed support for his attack on Iran. Trump absurdly claims 'nobody expected' Iran would retaliate after being attacked. US allies declined Trump's demand to help him out of his predictable, self-inflicted mess in Iran. In newly-released depositions, arrogant and self-entitled DOGE Bros struggle to explain what 'DEI' means and why they killed vital grant funding under the National Endowment for the Humanities.  Plus Desi Doyen has our new 'Green News Report.'

Encore: original airdate 3-4-2026. On today's 'BradCast': The crucial 2026 midterm elections are underway in earnest with the first primaries in Texas, North Carolina, and Arkansas. Notable results include longtime GOP Senator John Cornyn forced into a runoff with corrupt Republican sleazeball, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, for the US Senate. Popular Texas Democratic state Rep. James Talarico narrowly defeated the progressive firebrand, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, for US Senate amid election night chicanery from AG Paxton. Univ. of Michigan historian and Middle East expert, Prof. Juan Cole, discusses Trump's ill-advised War on Iran that is spreading throughout the Persian Gulf region; the history of how we got here; the administration's obvious lack of planning and clear objectives for the conflict; rising risks to the global economy; how the war could ultimately accelerate the transition to renewable energy; and much more.
On today's 'BradCast':  Corporate media is failing to cover Donald Trump's disastrous War on Iran as the generational calamity that it is. Extreme heat and storms are pummeling the US. Iran's new Supreme Leader vowed to avenge the deaths of Iranians in Trump's war. The FBI irresponsibly reported an 'unverified' alert of potential Iranian drone strikes from off the coast of California.  Senate Republicans blocked Democrats' legislation to fund agencies in DHS except ICE and CBP, choosing instead to keep the Coast Guard shut down. Republicans also refused to fund CISA, the nation's cybersecurity watchdog, even as an Iranian-linked hacker group carried out an attack on a US company. Terrorism expert Robert Page warns of a 'disaster in the making,' and that Trump's bombing of Iran has likely dispersed Iran's nuclear materials. Plus Desi Doyen has our new 'Green News Report.'

On today's 'BradCast':  Donald Trump knows his War on Iran is a disaster, and is both claiming that his war is 'going to be ended soon' but also will 'go further.' US history suggests high oil prices are very bad news for the party in power in the White House in midterm elections. Trump's War has distracted the media from covering the Epstein Files; a new investigation corroborates key details of a woman's allegations that Trump sexually assaulted her when she was 13. Trump's FBI subpoenaed Arizona election records regarding his loss in the 2020 election. China is benefiting from Trump's war on electric vehicles, announcing a breakthrough EV battery that charges in six minutes, has a 620-mile range, and is surprisingly inexpensive.  Plus Desi Doyen has our new 'Green News Report.'
On today's 'BradCast':  Happy Beginning of Daylight Saving Time Day to those who celebrate. A Reagan-appointed judge ruled that Kari Lake, who led Donald Trump's effort to dismantle Voice of America, was illegally appointed, and reversed her mass layoffs. In Trump's War on Iran, new evidence indicates the U.S. military is responsible for a deadly missile strike on a girls' elementary school. Iran chose Mojtaba Khamenei to replace his assassinated father as Supreme Leader. Global oil prices soar as production grinds to a standstill in the Middle East. President Dwight Eisenhower in 1953 called skyrocketing defense spending a type of theft from a nation's citizens. Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) notes there's always plenty of money for war, but never enough for you or your needs. Callers weigh in.
Encore: original airdate 2-18-2026. On today's 'BradCast':  After Trump FCC Chair Brendan Carr threatened to rewrite Equal Time rules for late-night talk shows, the venerable CBS television network, now owned by rightwing billionaires, immediately surrendered, barring 'Late Show' host Stephen Colbert from broadcasting his interview with U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico (D-TX). The move backfired, with the interview on Youtube garnering many millions more views than it might have otherwise. Journalist Art Levine discusses his deep dive documenting the rise in blatant, public antisemitism in the Republican MAGA movement that is causing a slow-motion implosion. Levine also covers nutty MAGA conspiracy theories about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, how the Trump Administration weaponized campus protests against Israel's war on Gaza to extort universities and other organizations, and much more.
On today's 'BradCast':  Dept. of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was fired by Donald Trump today for unclear reasons. Noem was justifiably excoriated in blistering House and Senate hearings this week that delved into her blatant corruption, lack of oversight of out-of-control federal ICE and CBP agencies, the murders of US citizens in Minneapolis by her federal immigration thugs, and much, much more. A federal judge denounced the Trump Administration's 'abhorrent and illegal' immigration enforcement practices in a scathing ruling denouncing the Kafka-esque treatment of a legal U.S. resident. Sleazy Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) withdrew his re-election bid just minutes before the legal deadline and endorsed his hand-picked successor in a corrupt scheme to block other candidates from filing in time. Plus Desi Doyen has our new 'Green News Report.'

On today's 'BradCast':  Donald Trump's ridiculously ill-considered War on Iran is already a disaster on many fronts, and has spread to at least eleven additional nations. Global oil and natural gas prices are soaring; Trump has no idea who will take over leadership of Iran after assassinating so many potential successors. The Trump State Department directed Americans to evacuate from several Middle Eastern countries but left them stranded without any assistance. Most Americans oppose Trump's war, including some MAGA leaders. Court rules that Virginia's plan to counter Republicans' mid-decade gerrymandering may proceed. But the corrupt US Supreme Court ominously blocked a New York redistricting effort in the middle of litigation in state court, violating their own precedent. Bread have you given any thought to these republicans who have switched their party preferences to Democrat so they can go in and vote for the weakest candidate and now with Bloomberg putting as clinkin that mix is it possible that these Bloomberg supporters are also those people who are switching their party in order to screw us that's a huge consideration since I can't imagine democrats supporting Blumberg
