Welcome back Hawklings!  Tony and Sean decided f**k it, let’s do one more show before we go to Iowa for Kosmic Kingdom. And what better guest to have on the show than Meduso.  We had a chat about his past album, the edits, and the Odyssey mixes. His new track "Turn Up The Bass" is out today, off his upcoming EP 'Drop In'. We spoke about performing and what it's like to go from the small stages of Okee sound camps to inside a chunky Coliseum opening for Illenium.  The visual aspect is just as important to the Meduso project as the audio. We talked about his artistic design work and time at Adidas, and who in the scene he could design the dopest kicks for. All this and so much more on this episode of Electric Talk with Meduso! After some time at ICON Collective, she decided to pack up her stuff and move to Denver to further push her idealization of being a dubstep DJ. She contains everything you want in a hard-hitting, explosive producer: confidence, finesse, and loads of personality. Click that silly little play button and step into the world of THRASHA - with some nerdy dudes asking her questions along the way. What's up Hawklings, this is the most Cajun seasoning we have ever sprinkled on an episode.  Oh baby we have a JAM packed episode of Electric Talk for y’all today coming to you live from Buku Music and Arts Project. We spoke with some massive names on the cone up in the DnB scene, Kumarion and REAPER. They talked to us about the importance of their tour and why it will be an ‘Uprising’ for drum and bass. We also asked to describe DnB in one word and then it spiraled out of control from there. Lets just say we’re gathering a bunch of artist managers and putting them all in one wrestling ring to see them duke it out.  The next day, We spoke with sfam on their latest creation ‘Below Sea Level’ and their amazing upcoming collabs with the likes of Mythm, Mize, and Wreckno. Sfam talked a ton about sports and how they were actually pretty close to becoming soccer stars instead of DJ’s. But instead they stayed in New Orleans with many of their friends and family, continuing their journey through music in the Bayou. Oh also fuck Tvboo. In another "Live From" episode of Electric Talk, our host Sean traversed the Northeastern U.S. to Randall's Island in New York City to sit down with one of melodic riddim's hottest artists, Ace Aura. Eric Seall –better known by his stage name Ace Aura– is an American bass music producer and DJ, best known for pioneering the melodic/future riddim brand of dubstep. His unique style has garnered support from the likes of Zomboy, NGHTMRE & SLANDER, Steve Aoki, Zeds Dead, Laidback Luke, Ookay, 12th Planet, Flux Pavilion, Borgore, William Black and many more. 2021 has undoubtedly been Ace Aura’s biggest year yet, kicking off with his debut Monstercat release “Stay” with TYNAN. He continued to make even bigger leaps during the coming months, releasing “The Feeling” with Crankdat, and his first sample pack, Melodic Riddim Vol. 1 with Chime (which hit #1 on the Splice charts and remained there for four consecutive weeks). 2021 also saw the release of “Resist” with Subtronics (called an “anthemic record” by Forbes), which helped Ace Aura earn a direct support slot for Subtronics’ sold out Cyclops Rocks show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.  Electric Talk was practically blushing when Ace Aura's team reached out for an interview. Our host Sean almost camped outside Randall's Island the night before just to make sure he got in to the festival on time. Ace discusses what it feels like to play a huge set at Electric Zoo and what he looks forward to the most for the rest of the year. We truly are not ready.  ALSO, do not forget to drink water. - Ace Aura Follow Ace Aura: Twitter: https://twitter.com/OfficialAceAura Instagram: www.instagram.com/aceauramusic Facebook: www.facebook.com/AceAura/ Spotify: open.spotify.com/artist/5o2KBzYUFierWmBhSemAhq Follow Electric Talk on Twitter! twitter.com/ElectricTalk
FIRE EPISODE ALERT!!  The man behind the Beats and Bad Dreams himself, NGHTMRE (Tyler Marenyi), sat down with us in our fancy gaming chairs to discuss his explosion onto the scene and how he has maintained that momentum for several years now. We walk down memory lane all the way to the Icon Collective school in California that has produced artists such as Slander, Jauz, and more. Next, we discuss the mental and physical toll of touring for year after year and what playing over 100+ shows a year will do to a nice young DJ. When is it okay to take time for yourself, away from fans and shows? Tyler, Tony, and Sean debate what has kept NGHTMRE at the top of gigantic lineups such as EDC, Ultra, even Disco Donnie events. A new album from the legend trap producer is on the horizon as well (Dreamverse?!?!), featuring another collab with dubstep icons Zeds Dead, a new one with Virtual Riot, and more to look forward to. NGHTMRE's recent trip to Alaska is one of the final steps to the North Carolina boy visiting all the states in the U.S. Ever wonder what the guy behind that Travis Scott Goosebumps remix from 2017 has picked his favorite stage to play at? Want to know more about his game-changing trap chune "Street"? Then click play and do us all a favor.  Shout out NGHTMRE and DK Projects for the opportunity to interview such a big inspiration!  Step through the Portal with NGHTMRE and follow him on his socials:  Follow NGHTMRE: https://www.facebook.com/nghtmre https://twitter.com/NGHTMRE https://www.instagram.com/nghtmre
In another "Live From" episode of Electric Talk, our host Tony ventured to Empower Field in Denver, Colorado to sit down with some of our favorite artists of the weekend. Kyral x Banko have been meshing rap and 140 since they were in cribs, but only recently have they been bringing their own version of bass music to the Mile High city. On the other hand, Doctor P and Funtcase have been at this thang for awhile, like since most of us were in grade school. Both the U.K. dubstep gods admit to us ON THE RECORD that they love Illenium. This made the 96 degree heat worth it. We got to hear about how Doctor P's prodigal remix of "Last One Standing" over 10 years ago came to be. Funtcase tells us how stretching is a vital part of the dubstep process. We could not have asked for better in person guests.
In this special episode of Electric Talk, Tony and Sean pinged Joey Myers (of Owndrum Group) to join the Discord call to discuss all things music industry. Joey tells the guys what it was like to manage artists during the Panorama and pump their careers full of fuel as live events are back in full swing. You know some of his artists if you have any shape of ear tapped into the underground, whether it is trap, DnB, dubstep, house, or techno. Just to ring a couple bells, Kumarion, sumthin sumthin, Guppi, and A-BO are some the rising stars that Mr. Myers fans the flames for. Ever wonder how a Brownies & Lemonade DnB showcase comes together? Ever wonder if good morals and managing a musical artist can coincide? Ever wonder what Audius is short for? Ever wonder who said no to your very dense and obnoxious guest list request?
