Becoming One Now

The phrase “the two shall become one” indicates that this is an ever-changing and ongoing process as you grow and adapt with each other throughout your marriage. If there is one thing to be certain of in marriage, it is that you definitely remain in the state of becoming. To think that we "become one" once and remain is like saying that it became autumn. You never remain in one season in regards to weather, life, or marriage. Just as the seasons change chronologically, the seasons of marriage change as you are BECOMING ONE.
