Reid, who is also a best-selling author and public speaker, joined MSNBC in 2011 as a contributor. Tonight on The ReidOut, Joy Reid leads with how for the first time in American history, a jury is deciding whether a former president committed felonies. Plus we discuss how, after deliberations began, the jury made several requests to the judge. Meanwhile, Donald Trump and his defenders are bracing for the verdict by attacking the judge, lying about the jury instructions, and increasingly portraying Trump as a martyr. Plus, new reporting on Supreme Court Justice Sam Alito's insurrectionist flags show that he is now throwing his wife even further under the bus, and refusing to recuse from Trump cases, earning a pat on the head from Trump himself. Listen now to this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
Joy Reid leads this episode of The ReidOut with the closing arguments in the historic first-ever criminal trial of a former U.S. president, Donald Trump. The prosecution argues that the case comes down to three things that they claim to have proven -- that there were in fact false business records, that the false business records were intended to cover up a conspiracy related to the 2016 election, and that Donald Trump was personally involved. As expected, the defense focused heavily on Michael Cohen’s credibility in their closing arguments. We also cover the global condemnation, which is at a fever pitch, after an Israeli airstrike hit a camp for displaced civilians in Rafah. Listen now to this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
In this first hour of our special edition of The ReidOut, we delve into debunking the apparent lies surrounding Black and brown voters' support of Donald Trump following Trump's unhinged rally in the Bronx. Plus, we examine Trump's New York trial concluding soon, amidst his other cases being slow-walked by a favorable judge and the Supreme Court. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) also joins Joy to discuss her epic takedown of Marjorie Taylor Greene, sparking a wave of memes and music. Listen now to this episode of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
Tonight on The ReidOut, Joy Reid leads with Supreme Court Justice Sam Alito, who reveled in, and joked about, being the one to deliver the death blow to Roe v Wade. Alito is now making it harder to bring racial gerrymandering cases, while reports have shown him flying yet another extremist flag over his home. Also in this episode, we cover Donald Trump wasting his time in the Bronx following a head-spinning week as a criminal defendant, purveyor of Nazi rhetoric, and bald-faced liar claiming that he was a target for assassination. Plus, Joy exposes how Ron DeSantis, fresh from his humiliating presidential campaign, is co-opting the civil rights movement term "freedom summer" to push his hateful agenda. Listen now to this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
Tonight on The ReidOut, Joy Reid leads with new details we are learning about Donald Trump's efforts to hide the classified documents he took and refused to return--and you will never believe the absurd, new claim they are making to distract from that damning evidence. Plus, Joy interviews former special prosecutor Nathan Wade on the Trump Georgia election interference case, the attacks from Trump, and Wade's former relationship with DA Fani Willis, which forced his resignation. Listen now to this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
Tonight on The ReidOut, Joy Reid leads with Donald Trump, who last month claimed that only he and his long-time advisor Dan Scavino could post to his social media account. Trump is now having his campaign blame a nameless "staff member" for posting a video referring to "the creation of a unified Reich." This incident is not the first time Trump has invoked rhetoric echoing Hitler's Germany. We also bring you the latest as Trump's defense rests without Trump testifying in the Stormy Daniels hush money trial. Listen now to this episode of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
Tonight on The ReidOut, Joy Reid leads with the fact that it is becoming increasingly clear that Donald Trump's promise to testify was likely just dishonest bravado, as the defense begins its case without calling him. Plus, Joy analyzes significant events that have unfolded recently, including an upside-down American flag--long considered a symbol of distress--that was seen flying over Supreme Court Justice Sam Alito's house. She delves into why Alito and others with the MAGA grievance mentality are apparently in such "distress" that they seem to feel that a Trump dictatorship is necessary to solve their problems. Listen now to this edition of The ReidOut on MSNBC.
MSNBC hosts Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow teamed up for a live event at the historic Apollo Theater in New York City. They discussed Joy’s "New York Times" bestselling book, "Medgar & Myrlie: Medgar Evers and the Love Story That Awakened America," and how the mission of these civil rights pioneers is now more urgent than ever.
Chris Hayes is taking his podcast “Why Is This Happening?” on tour this Fall. At the most recent stop in Philadelphia, he was joined by MSNBC’s own Joy Reid. Joy shared the twists and turns of her journey to becoming host of The ReidOut, including her years in Florida, which have given her unique insight into the state’s current culture wars.Stay here to listen to the full conversation, and check out msnbc.com/podcasts for more.

Pence's first inclination wasn't even to do the right thing, so he's a coward.

You know you wanted to say something else about the Moms For America defeats, Miss Joy, at least, what I was thinking when you said the PG-version of that thought, 😆. They got dragged.

The thing I suggested to my mom is that, as long as Israel continues to bomb and cause death to the Palestinian gen pop, there will come a time when Hamas sees no point in keeping ANY of the hostages alive.

My stepfather used to say, lawyers can swallow a cow but choke on a gnat. He didn't like that I liked to quibble about almost anything. The origin comes from Jesus's parable about the Pharisees, Matthew 23:24.

I remember when we were complaining that the Media wouldn't acknowledge what was right before their eyes, trump is a corrupt criminal whose stench was wafting over the country before the primaries were done. Now, we're thinking Pence is an independent, honorable, normally ambitious politician because he fulfilled his obligation on Jan 6th, and maybe his 'Christian' piety. Just as we've never seen such a foul, small man as president, have we ever seen such a mealy-mouthed, timid, obsequious vice president? He lies by omission! He takes forever to answer a question and when the hour's up you see that he's avoided the substance of the questions remarkably well. Looking back is 20/20 hindsight. Isn't it likely that he's also corrupt and playing his role?

The thing about Paul Whelan is entirely different than Griner. He was a former Marine, but he was dishonorably discharged. The Russians are treating his case differently because he had a zip drive with Russian state secrets on it.

Why aren't you covering the Indigenous Woman, Delilah Barrios, who is Green💚 Party, and running for Governor? Until we get rid of Corporate Politicians, like Greg Abbott and Beto O'Rourke, who are different, and yet stll the same, because they put the Corporations, Board of Director$, Stock Holder$, and $elf-enrichment. They are both controlled by the same entities . . . the 1%! It is time for new blood, and someone who accepts no Dark Money, No Corporate Money, and has her ear to the ground, and truly cares about Texans and the State of Texas. she is a steward of the land, a mother, and has great policies! You should have included her, you invited Greg Abbott, and he declined! you should have invited Delilah Barrios! She could have taken the slot abandoned by Abbott! You and MSNBC are cheating the public, by not covering all Candidates for Governor, and letting the Public make an informed decision! You and MSNBC are doing a disservice to the people, in Texas, and Everywhere! Vote Del

Dr. Johnson, stop attacking Garland, let him do his job. By projecting that he's not gives people the impression that he's ineffective. Garland doesn't ignore a god-damned thing.
