I officially started listening to Kpop before JPop, 'officially' because I watched a lot of anime as a kid and I loved it but I didn't make an effort to go further. Kpop is really nice but I don't really vibe to anyone apart from BTS, I'm an English listener btw, kpop for me is too westernized, they use too much English and it takes away their traditional flare. I'm looking for something very traditional but modern which I find in JPop especially Yoasobi. You'll find so little western influence in their music . The best JPop songs for me are from individual artists and groups (not boy for girl groups, cos boy, girl group music is too westernized, I fell in love with Japanese from watching anime and listening to openings, especially from Naruto, so I really like the jpop without much influence from western music.) Some of my top artists are; Yoasobi, Kenshi Yonezu, Vaundy, Aimyon, Kobasolo, Official Hige Dandism, Mafumafu, Eve. For me JPop is way better than Kpop when it comes to orig
