Ben Bloomberg on the JUMP Music Podcast SE2-EP16 Ben Bloomberg - @benbloomberg https://youtu.be/lR3ICUI_pE8 Ben is a Grammy nominated creative technologist who imagines, designs and builds everything from electro-acoustic musical instruments to AI driven performances and tours. He specializes in the conception and implementation of advanced surround sound and interactive music systems. His recent work with Jacob Collier involved the creation of Collier’s signature Harmoniser and the development of his groundbreaking one-man-show, for which he was praised by the Guardian as “the Tonto’s Expanding Headband to Collier’s Stevie Wonder.” As a recent graduate of the MIT Media Lab, Ben worked with Composer/Professor Tod Machover, as sound designer for two recent operas; Schoenberg in Hollywood, and Pulitzer finalist Death and the Powers (a robot opera), as well as six City Symphonies, working with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal under Kent Nagano, Philadelphia Orchestra under Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra under Peter Oundjian. In addition he worked with the Metropole Orkest under Jules Buckley for Collier’s Djesse Vol. 1 album, and with Jacob as a core part of the Djesse project. He was nominated for the Album of the Year Grammy in 2021 for his mixing and engineering contributions to Djesse Vol. 3. Ben started recording and running live sound at age nine and has since worked on hundreds of projects in venues and studios all over the world, including Abbey Road, the Hollywood Bowl, Royal Albert Hall, and Carnegie Hall. He has crossed paths with many other artists, engineers and designers— from Björk to Ariana Grande, people seem to seek him out when there is a challenge that hasn’t been seen before, requiring novel, creative and highly customized solutions. Ben is passionate about finding human-centric experiences even when technology is abundant and predominant. In doing this he strives to interweave creative, technical, social, and logistical aspects of production, all necessary to craft compelling musical experiences for the present day and beyond.

At 23, Damian founded and built The British Institute of Modern Music (BIMM - now known as BIMM Institute), currently valued at over $250m, and they are the largest set of music colleges in the world. Artists that studied at BIMM under Damian include George Ezra, The Kooks and James Bay.  In addition to this, Damian has worked as a professional bass player internationally, alongside artists such as Eric Clapton, Alanis Morissette, The Who and Bob Dylan. After building BIMM, Damian went on to successfully build and invest in several other businesses, including a management company for musicians (DK Music Management) and a live agency (Warble Entertainment).   The constant for Damian has always been educating & advising musicians throughout all stages of their career, whilst being at the forefront of navigating changes in the music industry. Damian has built an online community of over 200k musicians online, through YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Damian has also released two Amazon best-selling books for musicians, The Rule Breakers Guide to Social Media & Stop Selling Music: Career Changing Lessons for Musicians.   Damian is inundated with messages every day from musicians wanting his expertise & guidance for their career. He realised that he wasn’t able to keep up with the demand through YouTube & Instagram alone, so wanted to establish a community where musicians can have more access to him & his training. So in 2020 he set up DKMBA, where members have access to courses teaching them everything they'd need to know about the music industry from social media, to platforms, to releasing their music. JUMP Music Podcast Season 2 – EP11 with Richard Devine    @richarddevine   Recording Artist, and sound designer who specializes in field recording, sound effects, and sound design for T.V/Film, web media, Virtual Reality, and video games.   During the past three years, Richard Devine has remixed top Warp artists like Aphex Twin and Mike Patton (Faith No More). He has released 7 full-length albums on Schematic, Planet-Mu,  Warp, Asphodel, and Sublight records and has performed his own ear-tearing music mayhem worldwide. Based in Atlanta, Georgia he has done film score work for Touchstone Pictures (with John Hues & Kyle Cooper). He has also collaborated with BT (Brian Transeau on the movie “Surveillance” Directed by Adam Rifkin, Odopod, Elias Arts, Wieden & Kennedy, AKQA Inc., and has worked on commercials for the Nike Shoe Company and worked with various companies doing sound design for Audi, BMW, Ford, Scion, Coke, LandRover, Peugeot, Dodge, HBO, Nestle, Nike Japan & USA, McDonald's, Sprite, Spike Television network and has also worked with Konami gaming division for the Dance-Dance Revolution game.   In 2007 he signed a deal with Sony Media to release his first two Sound Effects libraries, "Pulse" and "The Electronic Manuscript" which won 2009's best sample library by Remix Technology Awards. in 2008 Richard launched a new sound design company "Devinesound" which was nominated for the Cannes Lions Award for the sound design work on the interactive website for Microsoft Gaming division-Halo Believe Campaign. In May 2016 he contributed sound effects and musical elements to the (Doom 4, Wolfenstein: The New Order) Soundtrack along with Mick Gordan. In 2017 He created UI Sound Design and Ambisonic Environmental Audio for Google's DayDream VR Platform/Google Earth VR.   In 2018 he did Sound Design for the new Jaguar I-Pace electric car, which included the exterior/interior engine sounds. All in the system user interaction sounds, alerts, notifications, blinker, low battery warning, charging battery, navigation, and power on/welcome sounds. In November 2018 he released his 7th full album Sort\Lave on Planet-Mu records(U.K.) His new EP on BL_K recordings is slated for September 2020.   In 2019 He designed all of the user interaction sounds and opening sound logo for Google's Stadia streaming platform. On February 24, 2019, Richard created several soundtracks and hundreds of sound effects for CD Projekt Red's CyberPunk 2077, and on November 11, 2020, he released the "Systik" EP on BlackNoise records. Natalie is violinist and artistic curator for Midtown Strings and Six Mile Strings. A passionate educator, Natalie has served as a teaching artist and conductor in a number of programs. She was Director of Orchestras for Oxford Community Schools and other experiences include positions with numerous community arts programs including Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Civic Youth Ensembles and MSU Community Music School-Detroit. Frederico Heliodoro on the JUMP Music Podcast SE2-EP4 @FredericoHeliodoro   One of the greatest musicians of Brazil`s new generation, the bass player, guitarist, producer and composer Frederico Heliodoro has been standing out in the current Brazilian and international music scene since 2007. Considered one of the most productive artists of his peer group, the bassist has five original records and is in the process to record his sixth one, to be released in 2020.    Wherever he goes, Heliodoro captivates the audience with his music which is intense, virtuous, experimental and loaded with feeling, mixing his Brazilian nature with jazz and contemporary music.  At 32 years of age, Frederico has already won reputed awards as Best Musician and Best Composer. Self-taught musician, he started to learn the bass guitar at the age of 9. At 11 he was already putting up live performances. In 2008 he enrolled in course of Popular Music in Federal University of Minas Gerais. In 2010, he spent 3 months in New York City, where he did some research on the upright bass in jazz music.   Currently, Frederico is the bass player of Kurt Rosenwinkel`s Caipi Band, with who he has been touring all over the world releasing Kurt`s new CD, Caipi.
