  Episode 11 In this episode I was blessed enough to get former bank regulator, now financial director Nina Qualls-Mendoza, and Tonya Love District Director.  I can't lie, I was a bit disheartened by the results from this past Tuesday's primaries.  What I hated most was the narrative the Bernie Sanders doesn't connect with black voters, while Joe Biden, a man who has a HORRIBLE RECORD with the black community is the go to choice because he was VP under Obama.  Hearing that same story over and over again, on mainstream media, I know that the casual black voter might even start to believe. it. We often hear, "People want a return to normalcy".  What is "normalcy" under a Biden presidency; especially when he was a part of the administration that gave us Trump? Many early interpretations of the Katrina disaster quickly cohered around a racial justice perspective, which rehearsed familiar narratives of the color line as the central axis of conflict in American life. The truth of such narratives seemed undeniable in the face of the news footage, testimonies, and imagery of mostly black New Orleanians stranded in the flooded city and struggling to survive amid chaos and little government rescue and relief.
