In this deeply inspiring episode of the Let Yourself Sparkle podcast, Rabbi Evey Rothstein is joined by spiritual healer, transformational life coach, and ordained interfaith minister Klaudeen Shemirani. Known for her “Soul Body Wisdom” work and the creation of Shimmy Shaman Dance Rituals, Klaudeen helps people reconnect with their bodies, heal trauma, and align with their authentic selves through movement, ritual, and loving presence.
Together, Evey and Klaudeen explore: The ancient, mystical power of the spiral and its presence in our bodies, nature, and spiritual traditions How movement and embodiment can heal old wounds, release shame, and awaken joy The wisdom of the pelvic bowl as a sacred vessel for creativity, renewal, and divine connection The courage to show up fully as yourself—without apology or dimming your light
Klaudeen also guides listeners through a gentle, circular movement practice designed to calm the nervous system, awaken your inner guidance, and bring you home to yourself.
If you’ve ever felt disconnected from your body, struggled with self-doubt, or longed to feel safe expressing all of who you are, this episode offers profound tools, soulful wisdom, and permission to take up space as your whole, radiant self.

The post The Spiral of Life: Healing, Embodiment, and Coming Home to Your Soul with Klaudeen Shemirani appeared first on Let Yourself Sparkle.
In this moving conversation, Rabbi Evey Rothstein has a conversation with Rabbi Anne Brener—Los Angeles psychotherapist, spiritual director, and author of Mourning & Mitzvah: A Guided Journal for Walking the Mourner’s Path Through Grief to Healing. Together, they explore how to navigate the pain of loss, the power of the “ministry of presence,” and ancient Jewish wisdom for supporting one another through life’s most difficult moments.
Drawing on Rabbi Brener’s decades of work with mourners, survivors, and communities in crisis—from Hurricane Katrina to the loss of loved ones—they discuss the sacredness of feeling our emotions fully, the importance of curiosity in the healing process, and the hope that emerges when we are held in compassionate community. You’ll also be guided through a gentle mindfulness meditation to help you reconnect with your body, breath, and inner resilience.
Whether you are grieving, supporting someone in loss, or seeking tools for deeper compassion, this episode offers timeless wisdom, practical guidance, and a reminder that even in the depths of sorrow… healing is possible.

In this episode of the Let Yourself Sparkle podcast, I open up about the incredible, messy, and deeply meaningful journey that’s brought me to where I am today. After years of resistance and fear, I’m finally sharing how I became a rabbi, my journey as a hospital chaplain intern, and someone who gets to connect with people soul-to-soul every single day.
I’ll take you through the highs and lows—what it felt like to face rejection from rabbinical school, how I found another way to pursue my dream, and the transformative power of embracing fear and saying yes to life. I also talk about my work as a chaplain, from leading Shabbat services to offering blessings for new babies, sitting with patients during life’s hardest moments, and discovering the profound beauty of simply being present.
This episode is all about rediscovering light—our inner light, divine light, and the sparks of connection that bring purpose and joy. If you’ve ever felt held back by fear, struggled to fully step into who you are, or wondered how to connect more deeply with yourself, your soul, or G-d, this episode is for you.

The post Wrapped in Light: Becoming a Rabbi and Embracing My Soul’s Purpose appeared first on Let Yourself Sparkle.
In this deeply personal and soul-stirring episode, I read aloud my recent article published in the Jewish Journal — a reflection that begins with a quiet moment beside my Bubbie near the end of her life and expands into a spiritual journey across time, tradition, and mystery.
As a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, a rabbi, and a chaplain, I share what it was like to witness my Bubbie reaching out to someone I couldn’t see — her father, who perished in the Holocaust. That moment sparked questions I was once afraid to ask: What happens to the soul after death? Can we stay connected to those who’ve passed on? And… is that even a Jewish thing?
Through teachings from the Zohar, the Talmud, Chassidic masters, and personal conversations with rabbis, scholars, and dying patients, I invite you into a sacred conversation about the eternal bonds of love and spirit — and the surprising ways Judaism makes space for connection beyond this world.
This episode is for anyone who’s ever grieved, wondered, or longed for just one more moment with someone they’ve lost. It’s a reminder of the words of the Lubavitch Rebbe- shared by Zisi Cunin “It’s like they’re just on the second story, looking down at you — ain shtok hecher — one floor higher, but still with you.” Rabbi Gordon added that the Rebbe explained, “When someone passes away, they don’t go far — they’re just one floor up, watching over us, interceding, praying, and blessing.”
It’s a reminder of the tangible relationship we can still have with loved ones in spirit, and that sometimes, the most profound truths are whispered in the spaces between worlds.
If you found this information comforting, please share both the article “When Souls Watch Over Us: A Jewish Reflection on Eternal Connections” from the Jewish Journal, and the episode with somebody else who it might comfort. Thank you for tuning into the Let Yourself Sparkle podcast. Stay tuned for more episodes about how we can light up our body, mind, heart, and soul.

The post Unveiling Your Spiritual Spark: A Journey to Connection and Fulfillment appeared first on Let Yourself Sparkle.
Rabbi Wolpe helps us understand what steals our joy and how we can push ourselves to take action, so that we can feel happier.
He reminds us that worrying about the future robs us from the ability to enjoy the present and that when we push ourselves to do the things we know will be good for us, joy will follow the action.
He inspires us to pause before reacting, and to let things go, and learn from our mistakes, and that we are all unique, with our flaws and our virtues.
He shares how helping others, reminds us of our worth and how much we are needed.
He encourages us to look for the light in the darkness, to see the good in the world, and to spend time thinking about our blessings.
He reminds us that change takes work, time and effort, that the bad feelings will not last forever, and joyous practices can create the feelings of joy.
He reminds us to never despair, to always have hope and believe that tomorrow can be brighter.

Today on the Let Yourself Sparkle Podcast, Ben Levin shares that “Autism is not a curse – it is a gift.”
Ben Levin is an autistic teenage with a passion for writing. He has released his first young adult novel, “In The Hole” (Jumpmaster Press), about a nine-year-old boy named David- who finds his safe and secure world unexpectedly unraveling after discovering his father has lost the family restaurant business , and subsequently their home. Forced to live in a borrowed car until it too is lost, David, together with his parents and sister, Julia, desperately seek shelter. After finding temporary housing in a decrepit inn, together with other individuals facing homelessness, David struggles to maintain a sense of normalcy even as his family faces the challenges and trauma of being homeless. Over time, through hard work and the support of their family and community, David searches for the inner strength and outward skills needed to help his family triumph over their dire circumstances.
Ben shares with us how our challenges are often not related to our dreams and should not stop us from pursuing our passions, and how if we just embrace who we are we will have the ability to thrive. Ben is a true inspiration to all around him.

My clients have danced their way out of depression and skated their way back to life.
Sometimes it takes an outside perspective to help you reconnect with your spark, to remind you that you already have all the tools within you to nourish your body, mind, heart and soul.
I’ll help you remove whatever it is that is dimming your light, so that you can let yourself sparkle.
You can also reach me at Evey@LetYourselfSparkle.com
I used to think it was selfish to focus on self care, but then I realized that when you show up with good energy, your light inspires the light to force its way out of others so that they can let themselves sparkle too. You are an instrument of change, adding so much light to the world.

This week, I share an interview with my grandfather, who passed away when I was 15 years old.
My grandfather, Jay Shalmoni (I called him “Zayde”), was the most resilient person I’ve ever met. He survived the Holocaust, lost his entire
family, 8 siblings and parents all murdered, and he suffered the worst traumas anyone could have experienced in the death camp Aushwitz where he was tortured for years. Despite all of that, he chose to push himself to get up, look towards the future, wake up excited and smile. He would draw a happy face on my arm and lit up every room with his zest for life.
You’ll hear his words in his own voice, sharing his mindset and how that enabled him to live a good life- in an interview with Steven
Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation.
