Following a lackadaisical start that put FIU up 14-0 through the first five minutes, UTSA snaps into game mode to go on a 57-6 barrage and secure their third straight bowl win. The victory also secured the Roadrunners a winning record in 2025, finishing 7-6 for the second straight season. While hoisting hardware is a great way to end the up-and-down season, Jeff Traylor must quickly shift his focus to the most important offseason of his collegiate coaching career - hiring an offensive coordinator and reloading a defense that has seen mass exodus to the transfer portal. 03:12 Early Struggles 06:26 Talent Disparity 10:18 Roster Management and Portal Exodus 18:05 Recurring Disciplinary Issues 25:58 Individual Player Performances 27:19 Offensive Play Calling 32:31 Assessing Coaching Changes and Conference Dynamics 34:01 Planning for 2026: Roster Construction 36:54 Defensive Challenges and Areas of Focus 43:07 Transfer Portal Insights and Future Strategies Video: https://youtu.be/FZF90RYUyxI

UTSA's win streak in conference games in the Alamodome is the stuff of legends, but one team has consistently had the Roadrunners number in the confines of the Dome -- The Army Black Knights. Baseball season will be here before we know it, and today's release of the Roadrunners' 2026 schedule brings us that much closer to first pitch. Dan is joined by UTSA Baseball alumnus James Taussig to discuss this season's schedule, highlight some key matchups, and discuss the flawed RPI system in college baseball.
Alamodome magic showed up once again as the Roadrunners smoked the ECU Pirates 58-24, giving UTSA their sixth-straight season of bowl eligibility, while the Pirates were eliminated from American Conference championship contention. We had to spend some time in this episode searching for answers around why the Alamodome has been such an unfriendly site for opponents. 00:00 Dominating Victory Over ECU 05:21 Inconsistency on the Road vs. Home Performance 08:19 Comparing This Year to Last Year 14:02 Offensive Line Performance 16:52 Key Plays and Momentum Shifts 19:48 Future Outlook 25:00 Defensive Highlights and Culture 28:59 The Alamodome's Home Field Advantage 38:30 Defensive Performances and Team Resilience 42:10 Is UTSA vs ECU becoming a rivalry? The Roadrunners finally earned their first conference road win in two years with a too-close-for-comfort win over Charlotte. Can UTSA now extend their home conference winning streak? 7Alex Golesh and his Bulls down-right decimated the UTSA Roadrunners, then had a lot to say about it. It's just the latest entry in a frustrating cycle for the program where the Roadrunners secure a big win at home and look to be turning the corner before falling flat on their face when they step into another team's stadium. Can UTSA put their road woes to the side to beat a deeply struggling Charlotte program? We better hope so. 0:00:00 UTSA gets wrecked on the road once again 0:03:50 Alex Golesh calls out Jeff Traylor 0:10:00 It's not been a fun year to be a UTSA fan 0:22:10 We actually talk about the game a little bit 0:37:32 Charlotte is a real mess right now 40:33 Biff Poggi set Charlotte back by years 43:19 Defensive Challenges and Team Dynamics 46:17 Fan Engagement and Team Morale 49:06 Looking Ahead: Remaining Games and Predictions 51:58 Coaching Pressure and Future Changes Video: https://youtu.be/qzxlkUHv2xQ
We're extremely thrilled to introduce you all to Dan's new co-host, Paisano Sports Editor Rylan Renteria! Tune in to hear how Rylan got his start covering UTSA Baseball and how he developed such a passion for the program. Rylan and Dan also share some hints on scheduling, as well as break down the action from the UTSA Fall World Series.
Don't count out the Roadrunners in the Alamodome, especially in their black out unis. UTSA felt disrespected by Tulane, and responded in kind of a shocking 48-26 shellacking on ESPN. We break down how the Roadrunners were able to turn things around, and discuss the improving health of the offense. Next up is another super formidable opponent, as USF boasts what may be the deepest roster UTSA has ever seen a conference opponent bring into battle. 00:00 UTSA's Surprising Upset Victory 03:12 Defensive Performance and Team Dynamics 06:25 Quarterback Health and Performance 09:02 Offensive Strategy and Play Calling 18:07 Coaching and Future Prospects 29:54 Roster Management and Player Development 32:33 Special Teams Surprises and Performance 35:12 Coaching Challenges and Program Expectations 46:50 UTSA's Upcoming Challenge Against USF 49:59 Analyzing USF's Roster and Performance 58:43 Game Predictions and Final Thoughts Video: https://youtu.be/yNTgUzuH_B8
The outlook for both UTSA Men's and Women's basketball looks tough to tip off the 2025-2026 season. Austin Claunch has to flip his entire roster (again) in his second season, while Karen Aston will need to nurse up an extremely injured roster. We examine the roster on both programs and preview the upcoming schedule. 00:00 Season Preview: Excitement and Expectations 03:19 Roster Reconstruction: A Fresh Start 06:07 Challenges of Player Retention and Team Chemistry 09:13 Exhibition Game Analysis: Lessons Learned 11:59 Upcoming Schedule: What Lies Ahead 14:42 Key Players to Watch: New Additions and Potential Stars 17:28 Conference Landscape: Assessing the Competition 24:16 Impact Transfers and Freshmen to Watch 40:29 Women's Team Challenges and Injuries 45:51 Expectations for the Women's Team Video: https://youtu.be/eM35b1tQ3ZQ
Jeff Traylor chose to stood pat over the bye week after the Roadrunners were humiliated against rival North Texas. Will UTSA find a way to generate a spark after the bye week, or will the Roadrunners fall flat again? The 6-1 Tulane squad presents an opposing challenge as San Antonio enters the ESPN prime time spotlight. 00:00 Jeff Traylor's Press Conference and Team Morale 06:15 ESPN's Coverage and Student Engagement 14:10 Team Performance and Offensive Cohesion 18:39 Tulane's Strengths and Betting Lines 24:17 Jake Retzlaff: Tulane's Dynamic Quarterback 36:23 Tulane's Defensive Strengths 39:26 Special Teams and Game Predictions 42:05 Coaching Decisions and Future Implications Video: https://youtu.be/pRIYaIZNhpI
