In the second half of our Common Core mini-series, we’re turning our attention to ELA. Reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language all show up in the standards, but what do they actually expect of your child? In this episode, we’ll break down how Common Core ELA is organized, how to interpret the standards across grade levels, and how to use them to guide your homeschool reading and writing instruction. Whether you’re choosing a curriculum or building your own, this episode will help you teach ELA with more clarity and confidence.

I just love listening to you guys . You have been a huge part of our homeschool inspiration 🙌
It was a perfect short explanation. The fact that Singapore Mathematics https://esingaporemath.com/ have fewer topics, but more in-depth understanding is key. As teachers, we do a lot of how to do math, and believe it would be unfair to give test questions that students had never done before
Yes! The song is just going to be with me when I have forgotten all else. My son loves when I accidentally say "Yellow is five and two" and now we sing it EVEN MORE! Wheee! Great podcast. I really love listening to both of you chat about homeschooling. It's helping my FOMO a lot. I keep buying curricula to find the magic one that will appeal to all of my learners and be easy for me to organize and get through. RSM is fantastic!
you. guys. rock.
