I had the pleasure of sitting down with THE Tomas J Stanton, author of Wolves Don’t Perform in The Circus, A collection of poetry in which encapsulates much of life experience and legacy - from his work as an educator, community organizer, and entrepreneur, but also as a human, husband and father.
In this episode:
We deep dive into Tomas’ journey into the world of poetry & spoken word by attending and eventually performing at one of the largest open mic nights in Phoenix seating over 500 people
We discuss how nearly 14 years later, after co-creating various poetry / spoken word programs within community art centers - Tomas is finally releasing his first book, which he’ll be hosting a big community book release event and poetry performance in collaboration with Diana Resendiz, called INDIE - UP Festival happening Saturday May 11th from 7:30 - 10:30pm (ticket link below)
Tomas shared an intimate look on how pondering what legacy he wants to leave, especially for his children, is what initially sparked the idea for his book + a very moving poem that literally brings me to tears
We spoke a little bit about mental health and how poetry can be used as a therapeutic modality
Tomas shares about impact his lifestyle brand, “Righteous, Kinda” is making an impact within the community + invites me to be a guest on his podcast (stay tuned for that)

The uphill battles women face in the music industry & backstory of why she decided to put out her own music as an independent artist + turn it into an entire movement, now empowering other independent artists globally
How she grew her online platform to over 100 thousand + supporters, and ended up having the video clips of her songs go viral

I’ve never smiled so hard while recording a podcast episode! Jaslean is the incredibly sweet, loving woman running the page Instagram: instagram.com/curatingcures - which is centered around generously offering a range of holistic health and wellness tips originally inspired by ancient Ayurvedic remedies taught to her by her mom.
What I love most about this page there how practical AND accessible the practices are as well as how it is SO encouraging around self care offering all these amazing at home remedies
The other aspect I love is the holistic approach she takes, not only considering physical health, but also mental, emotional and spiritual as well.
I also LOVE it when she shares her thoughts and perspectives from her own personal journey because I find it all SO relatable.
On this episode, we dove into so many beautiful topics:
The original inspiration & story behind Curating Cures, involving a special conversation with Jaslean’s mom + getting out of your own way
Jaslean’s top 3 biggest lessons of the last year
Artists dates and how they can support you in clarifying what is authentic for you
Her decision to come off of birth control
How to maintain a healthy relationship with social media and use it for good
There is SO MUCH GOLD within this one episode!

The first time I heard Tomi Simmons perform I CRIED. This slam poet and yoga teacher is one of the best in the game. Her writing skills + performance delivery is literally some of the best I've ever seen and she inspires me SO much.
If you are ever lucky enough to see her perform LIVE then you will totally see what I mean!
In this episode:
Tomi and I sit down 1:1 for the very first time and talk about our relationship to poetry + the performance aspect of it
She shares all about how she started and fell in love with it at a very young age, plus how it's helped her process trauma and communicate some really difficult things with her family that she may not have been able to otherwise.
AND she was sweet enough to bless our ears with two of her beautiful poetry pieces and her inspiration behind them
After hearing her share her love for this art, its almost as if poetry won my heart all over again. I am always so amazed at hearing just how much its helped others not only cope with difficulties of life, but also meet and connect with community and close friends.
Tomi is now starting her very own poetry slam in the OC area and creating a space for more poets to come together and share their art. You can follow and keep up with upcoming events via instagram at: @ocpoetryslam

What an honor to interview the legendary Renee Hecker aka “Wing It Mom” aka One True North Life Coaching…
A sweet, inspiring woman, law of attraction life coach, motivational content creator, mother of 12 and widower to her late husband Nathan Hecker.
Renee wears many hats in life, but what I am most inspired by is the wise, heart-centered human that she is.

Renee generously shared about her incredibly unique & loving relationship with her late husband, Nathan. She spoke to the true ins and outs of their very real partnership & how her and Nathan made it through some really bumpy times in their experience together as well as some of their sweet memories as a couple and as parents.
In 2020, Nathan was killed a tragic work accident, which left the whole Hecker family to grieve the loss of their sweet, strong and supportive chief. Renee sat down with her family and said, “Lets live our lives to honor him” and that became their motto.

Healthy dynamics of a strong and healthy partnership
Letting go of control & trusting in the full spectrum of lessons that life has to offer
How they made it through some really tough times and stuck together

She started hosting interactive zoom classes and teaching people how to do this for themselves and now people everywhere can access dozens of prompts to work with to process & regulate their emotions.

Have you ever gone on an extended trip & spent enough time away from your day to day life and routine to receive valuable insights into how you’ve been showing up & where you have space in your life to grow as an individual & in your relationships?
On the latest podcast episode, I had the pleasure of dropping in with singer, song-writer Nina Grae and talking about the inspiration behind her latest single “When I Come Back” as the song reflects the deep lessons that come from such a journey.
Having JUST taken an extended solo trip to California myself and living van life for 2 weeks, this song couldn’t have come at a better time for me to have my own personal reflections.
We talked about the liberation that comes from witnessing ALL the parts of ourselves and holding them with grace while also being honest & open with ourselves on where we have room to grow as it relates to prioritizing/taking care of ourselves and having healthy boundaries when it comes love & relationships
Nina & I also spoke about how creative expression can be an outlet to process life lessons & the many different emotions we experience as well as how relationships can be such mirrors for our growth.

Imagine one of the most tragic life events ends up leading you back to one of your most precious paths….
At the peak of the pandemics uprising, my sweet friend Grace and her family received the news that her father had been killed in a work accident. Between processing the grief of his loss + facing the possibility of losing the business she’d worked so hard on building over the last decade, Grace found herself being drawn to an old expression she’d always loved so much, painting.
Since rediscovering her love for this form of art, she decided to dedicate time & energy to honing her skill and selling her paintings fully leaning into her path as an artist.
This wasn’t before Grace spent 10 years growing a massage business from a private practice in a 200 square foot room to now a highly successful spa with 19 employees.
In this episode she drops tons of wisdom, life lessons and insights on her journey in both business and in life.
One other really cool thing I find fascinating about her is that this off-grid living life style I hear so many people dreaming of returning back to - Grace grew up in.
With her mom home birthing her and her 11 siblings to being raised in a home with no tv, heater or a/c and an outhouse - she spills the juicy details of what this was like for her
I’ll speak for myself and say I left this episode feeling so inspired & grateful to have hd a refreshingly deep & meaningful conversation
We laughed, we cried & per usual we held nothing back

An open invitation to all women to join in on a beautiful, ceremonial day retreat for women happening on Sunday, August 13th from 10:30am - 7:00pm
If you are looking for a spiritually expansive community in Phoenix, Arizona - you NEED to know Taylor Wray - she’s an artist, alchemist, yoga teacher, healer, light worker, community event facilitator and so much more

Taylor is a walking inspirational story - from choosing a life of sobriety after struggling with anxiety, depression and addiction and deciding to fully embrace her purpose as a yoga teacher and healing guide and community leader.
In this episode, we talk about the upcoming ceremonial day retreat called Awakening Sacred Feminine and deep dive into Taylor’s journey with healing from addiction and working with plant medicines of different kinds and how it’s helped her on her path

This episode is full of depth and inspiration. I had the honor of deep diving with one of my closest girl friends, Paola Ucelo - who is an artist, a poet, a designer, ceremonialist/retreat curator, organizer for Indigenous Mayan leaders in Guatemala, as well as a spirit led mentor & guide for facilitators, visionaries, creatives, and heart-led leaders.
Paola recently just launched a ritual inspired clothing line, called "Altar" which is currently offering a select amount of the most beautiful hand-made kimonos with her channeled art embroidered into them. Each sacred piece comes along with a poetic transmission and is curated for the passage of life.
In this conversation, we talk about:
- The inspiration behind this project & how good it feels to initiate a project that encompasses everything you love
-The power of love and how much of an impact it's made on us in our lives
- Our reflection of the REVIVE retreat Paola led earlier this summer on the Big Island of Hawaii, which I got the opportunity to support with and what we took away from that experience
- How we love reflecting on how much our lives have shifted since we met and how grateful we our to be able to see each other through all of it
- Choosing a path that is true for you
There is so much wisdom packed into this one conversation & just know this isn't the only time I plan on bringing Paola onto this podcast :)

Whether you believe in astrology or not, you'll find this episode full of wisdom & gems from natal astrology expert, yoga teacher & coach Jessica McLean.
Jessica is a self-made entrepreneur, mother of 4, wellness enthusiast and a fellow projector human design.
She joined one of my group mentorship programs back in 2019 where she committed to building and growing her coaching business. She has since helped hundreds (if not thousands) of people with spiritual self mastery through her courses, programs, readings & more.
On this episode she utilizes the ancient technology of traditional astrology to break down my personal natal chart to show all of us just how much the planetary placements in the sky when we were born plays a role in our personality and how we can use this information to become more self-aware.
In my experience this was eye-opening and felt like a full permission slip to own the qualities in which make me, me.

I’m stoked to welcome my first guest onto the show, a dear friend & soul sister Makenzie McPherson.
Makenzie is one of the cofounders of Kakao - whole bean, heirloom drinking chocolate sourced from small family farms in both Peru & Guatemala
If you know me at all, you know I’m a huge cacao person since the day I had my first cup nearly 6 years ago and experienced the powerful heart opening properties this beautiful medicine brings. I’ve since been holding gatherings of my own, cultivating a beautiful heart centered community that offers a supportive space to feel seen, heard and uplifted.
For the very first time, Makenzie & I were blessed to hold a gathering together in Phx, Arizona and even after years of doing this, we’re still blown away at the power of coming together in counsel with one another.
In this episode we-
- Share a little bit about cacao and how this beautiful plant has supported us personally
- Discuss the connection it’s helped us strengthen with the Earth (a sneak peak into Makenzies upcoming book)
- Reflect on the recent gathering we held in Phx + our takeaways
- Dive into the 5 stages of grief and share a few small tips on how I’ve navigated it + talk the gifts that can come along with it
