In this episode, we had the pleasure of sitting down with two remarkable guests who bring passion, creativity, and a wealth of history to the local brewing and dining scenes. Terry, the well-known force behind the iconic Backstage Pub, and Brian Conley, the innovative brewer from Seven Points Brewing, joined us for a fascinating conversation that covered everything from family roots to new restaurant ventures—and even touched on a mysterious unsolved murder.

One of the episode's highlights was trying some of their unique brews, including a new beer made with oyster shells. These beers showcase the creativity and craftsmanship behind Indian Ladder’s beers. It was fascinating to hear Scott explain how unusual ingredients can elevate brewing.

We are back in “The Carpet City” for this episode to visit Amsterdam’s newest tasting room. Rich and Stacy invited us a few weeks ago for their grand opening, where we had a chance to enjoy a flight and a few mixed drinks made with their spirits. So, Brian Conley from Seven Points Brewing and I pop into Second Act Spirits for a chat.

For our 40th episode, we headed to Wolfhollow to hang out with the Bar Manager, Eddie. We learn that WH has a bunch of events scheduled this summer, including their 11th-anniversary party. Plus, we sample a couple of their newest beers.

There is a new brewery on the Horizon. Amsterdam, N.Y., is set to welcome Schwalbacher Brewing to their Downtown neighborhood at 30 E Main St. We had the opportunity to sit down with CheyAnne and Colin Schwalbacher and welcome the former Coloradans to New York and the market!

We are back at Dave’s house by the lake with our guest, Brian, from Seven Points Brewery. In this episode, we discuss the sale of 20 North Broadway, what happened to Nick’s truck, and we check in on Stella & Seven Points brewing. We headed north to Paradox Brewery for this episode to speak with OM Devon and Owner Paul. It was a beautiful mid-April day as we started our short trip up the northbound side of 87. The conditions made this trip extra special because as we stepped out of our truck and walked up to the front door, we were surrounded by the beauty of the Adirondack Mountains.

Our second brewers' panel features some fantastic guests this week. We are happy to welcome Chris from The Warbler Brewery, Drew and Laura from Frog Ally, and Guy from Mixed Breed Brewery. Although we encountered some technical difficulties at the beginning of the podcast, we eventually got things going and brought you a fun discussion on brewing.

So for this episode, we tried something different. We sat down with the masterminds behind the Electic City Sour Collab. We all laughed; some of us cried, and we all laughed again. It was scary, it was exciting, it was chaos. It was our first First Brewers panel. Enjoy!

We also have a bad news/good news situation. The bad news is, unfortunately, Dave could not join us, but the good news is we are excited to have Aaron from Craftpoint fill in.

This week we were super excited to be invited to the Capital District Scottish Games by our friends over at New Scotland Spirits. In this episode, we learn a little history behind the New Scotland Spirits crew. Then Jesse and Greg helped us teach our audience (and myself) how to taste whiskey as we sampled their complete lineup properly. Plus, what is the difference between whiskey, bourbon, and scotch? We also learned how superheroes are made.

We were honored to be invited by Guy from Mixed Breed Brewing for LCPL Glover Day in this episode. Unfortunately, Dave could not make it to this podcast, so DScott from Kiss 1023 got to play co-host for the day. Plus, we got to enjoy food from Burger 21 and music from Twenty Ninety-six!

We're back, this time with Jim Eaton from Fort Orange Brewing. Dave takes the day off to celebrate another trip around the sun, so we welcome former American On Tap marketeer Brittany Gilman as today’s guest host.

After a long pause from the podcast world, the guys return to shake off the rust. Unfortunately, Dave couldn’t make it for this episode but we do have the Big Blue State of mind podcast host and an honorary member of the show Kevin Mcclurken filling in for Dave. Chris from Warbler and Kevin really show their IQ for a beer while I felt like an elementary school dropout during a bar exam. These guys did a good job dumbing down stuff for me. Lucky for me, we talk about the big three beers (the crowd favorite, Chirs’s heart and soul, and the newest.)Plus of course, we talk Star Wars, New York Giants and some other fun topics.

Unfortunately, the brewing process takes a while and this is only an hour podcast so we don’t get a chance to try the beer but Bob does his best to describe the process to us. We also cover topics like a Rock Band of Star Wars characters, a popular beer from Michigan, Schenectady’s history with trains, plus so much more. So Bob has been brewing since only December but has already produced 7 beers before the recording of this podcast. Unfortunately, the brewing process takes a while and this is only an hour podcast so we don’t get a chance to try the beer but Bob does his best to describe the process to us.
