Elaisha Hilliard is a fine artist located in Detroit, Michigan.  Her favorite medium is paint.  Paint is her most preferred medium. "You can communicate so much with it," she adds. "A brushstroke, a texture, as well as a color can tell you a lot about an artist's emotions." Elaisha began with acrylics because they were the cheapest and most accessible medium, but as she became more serious about her work, she transitioned to oil paints and is loving every minute of it. She has shown interest in pursuing additional mediums in the future. When asked what motivates her to create art, she replied, "I'm inspired by everything." Elaisha stated emphatically that she strives to be as unique as possible. She claims that in the past, she would frequently come across artwork by other painters and think to herself, "Wow, I wish I could paint like that," but then she goes on to say, "I wish I could paint like that." Topic: virtual and augmented reality Augmented reality (AR) is becoming more common in social media. After Snapchat pioneered it, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok have launched their lenses, filters, and effects. In the process, AR is showing its value not only for branding and entertainment but also for commerce. You can thank augmented reality for a quick filter to tweak your appearance if you don’t have time to touch up your blemishes before your morning post. If you were a fan of Pokémon go between 2016-2018, you can thank augmented reality for that experience as well. In today’s episode, we will discuss all things augmented and virtual reality. How does this phenomenon impact our lives for the betterment of society? how does it hinder our ability to function without it? First, it’s imperative to define and share What augmented reality and virtual reality are. We’ll start off by sharing a little about virtual reality: Virtual reality or VR is a technology that creates a virtual environment. People interact in those environments using, for example, VR goggles or other mobile devices. It is a computer-generated simulation of an environment or 3-dimensional image where people can interact in a seemingly real or physical way. Since the pandemic began, there’s been a spike in dependency in the United States when it comes to virtual and augmented reality. Some drive-throughs adjusted to contactless customer service by using self-checkout kiosks, we all probably downloaded services such as instacart, doordash, had conversations with colleagues via zoom, or our years of exposure to FaceTime, those are mostly examples of augmented reality. Augmented reality Unlike virtual reality, where everything a user sees is generated by a computer, augmented reality keeps the real-world focus, but just adds elements that aren’t really there to enhance the user’s experience Technology continues to advance as the years progress with amazing inventions and creations that may be moving faster than we can keep track of, Although it’s clear that there are many possibilities to immerse ourselves in the VR/AR world and take advantage of this leading tech, we also need to consider the applications and the cost before starting a journey into virtual and augmented worlds. The distinctions between VR and AR come down to the devices they require and the experience itself: AR uses a real-world setting while VR is completely virtual AR users can control their presence in the real world; VR users are controlled by the system VR requires a headset device, but AR can be accessed with a smartphone AR enhances both the virtual and real-world while VR only enhances a fictional reality If you’re looking for a truly immersive gaming experience that will allow you to leave the real world behind, virtual reality (VR) will allow you to do just that. These gaming applications can help you experience places and events that go far beyond our real-world environment by allowing players to exist within a three-dimensional artificial world. The human brain can adapt quickly. When you’re in the VR world, it can take as few as 30 minutes to lose your sense of spatial awareness in this one. Your brain may be able to quickly adapt to inhabiting the virtual world, but your body will still remain in this reality—and so will the walls you can walk into and slip, trip, and fall hazards, and people you may punch in the face. As virtual reality continues to soar in popularity, so do cases where the use of VR resulted in injury.
The Great Resignation

The Great Resignation

2022-02-0130:01

Americans quit jobs at a record pace during the second half of 2021, and more plan to resign in the new year. About 23% of employees will seek new jobs in 2022, while 9% have already secured a new position, according to a December ResumeBuilder.com poll of 1,250 American worker so far 4.5 million workers resigned, demonstrating that the Great Resignation is here to stay. Workers appeared to be celebrating two American traditions in November: Thanksgiving and quitting their jobs. That's because, in the last eight months, quitting has become the new national activity, making 2021 the year of the quit. Why r ppl quitting? https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/9083256002 How did ppl get by? The extension of unemployment Jonathan Caballero is among the millions of workers who are rethinking how they want to live their lives after the pandemic. He has found a new job that won't require a long commute. The need for workers held steady in November, according to fresh data, as people abandoned low-paying jobs at an all-time high. After eight months of rising quits, it appears that labor shortages and labor market reshaping may be a permanent part of the post-vaccine economy. Americans are resigning in droves, suggesting that they want better working conditions, higher compensation, and more fulfillment from their professions. "Close the conclusion of 2021, laborers still had that lovely invaluable position within the labor showcase and were seeing the numerous work openings out there right presently and seizing them — by stopping their work and taking a unused one," Scratch Bunker, the financial inquire about chief at Without a doubt, told Insider. Strikingly, the number of individuals getting contracted is still higher than the number of specialists stopping. Work openings fell somewhat in November, and 6.7 million individuals were contracted. Whereas the information doesn't appear where individuals went when they quit,"it does see like that in 2021, all this work stopping was in arrange for individuals to do work exchanging," agreeing to Bunker. The information does appear that laborers are parachuting out of a certain-type of work: Low-wage work. Stops in relaxation and neighborliness hit a record tall in November; 6.9% of the settlement and nourishment administrations workforce stopped in November. All told, over 1 million recreation and neighborliness specialists stopped. Retail exchange laborers too stopped well over the normal, with the industry losing 4.4% of its workforce to quitting. Laborers are clearing out low-wage employment — and at distant higher levels than other businesses — bolsters a hypothesis that current labor crunches are more associated to a wage deficiency than a labor deficiency. Exchanging occupations is one dependable way to form more cash, and the most recent information appears low-wage laborers are doing fair that. Of course, there's too the same labor imperatives that have been dogging the economy since the pandemic's onset. Childcare — or need thereof — has kept a few guardians out of the labor showcase. While the most recent information discharge doesn't figure within the affect of the Omicron variation, the skyrocketing cases might only exacerbate childcare issues, in conjunction with workers' fears around returning to or remaining at in-person work. What remains to be seen is on the off chance that labor deficiencies in their current shape do conclusion up getting to be permanent — and in case specialist control will proceed to gather. But it doesn't appear just like the stopping will ease anytime before long, recommending that low-wage managers may still confront a crunch as laborers discover higher pay elsewhere. Quote of the day.

Use your Imagination

Use your Imagination

2022-03-0101:57:32

Use your Imagination What is a Imagination? : the act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived in reality Imagination is the ability to form mental pictures or ideas in the mind. Everybody has the ability to imagine, but imagination becomes powerful when you turn it into manifestation. Every material thing that was created by humans was first imagined. Creation begins in the mind before it becomes physical. The inventor of the car imagined it before inventing it. The inventor of the internet imagined it before inventing it. The inventors of the airplane imagined it before inventing it. The inventor of the mobile phone imagined it before inventing it etc. Imagination is the beginning of creation. You can create most of the things you can imagine. Mental pictures and ideas should be used to make an impact. They exist for a purpose. Nevertheless, people use their imaginations for different purposes. Some use it to invent, some to set up a business, some to solve issues, some to help others, some to do evil etc. The mind has an eye that can see what doesn’t exist in the world. What you see physically can be seen by others but what you imagine cannot be seen by others but you, because it’s in your mind. However, there are two kinds of imaginations: positive imagination and negative imagination. Positive Imagination I define positive imagination as the ability to imagine the things you desire. And this is something you should do regularly. You should imagine everything you desire. The beautiful part of imagination is that you can actually form any picture or idea you want in your mind. If you want a car, you should imagine the car brand you want, the colour, the model, the specific date you want it, and imagine yourself driving that car. If you want a house, you should create it in your mind, imagine how you want it to be designed, the location, the year you want the house to be built or bought, and imagine yourself living in that house. If you want a job, you should imagine yourself getting your dream job, and working. If you want to marry, you should imagine yourself finding a partner, and getting married etc. You may spend at least 15 minutes a day imagining the things you desire until you get them. Using positive imaginations will make you feel good and believe that you can get the things you desire and imagine. Then your unconscious mind will solidify your belief and you will start acting based on it unconsciously. A certain force will push you to do the things you need to do in order to turn your positive imagination into manifestation. 7 Ways To Fight Negative Imagination - You should fight negative imaginations with positive affirmations. For instance, if you see yourself dying, declare that you’ll live long. If you see yourself being ill, declare that you can never be ill etc. - Stop listening to negative news - Stop watching negative videos - Stop hanging out with negative people - Listen to positive music - Do not fear anything - Read Positive Thinking books or articles Using Your Imagination Will Help You Achieve Your Goals and Get What You Desire. “What You See Is What You Get.” “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.” Albert Einstein https://eyorekon-kevin.medium.com/the-power-of-imagination-fa6e4aec18d7 Dont forget to like share and subscribe. Ten years from now, information regarding race and identity will likely transform from what is current. The American population is expanding but the demographic of racial identity will shift , According to an article from brookings.edu new statistics project that the nation will become “minority white” in 2045. as of today, races that identify as white are the majority but as we move into another decade, people who identify as Hispanic or Asian or black will be in the lead, ahead of the current majority. today we will share information about the prediction and what our world may look like in the near future. First, it’s important to share a few facts about where we are now.
Two of the main differences in body language between the genders are facial expressions and eye activity. Women use more facial expressions than men, and above all, they smile more than men when interacting with other people Men also desire more personal space, usually only touch each other when engaged in playful aggression, and have the tendency to move around more when they are uncomfortable. Women, on the other hand, tend to align their bodies to face the other person, use more hand gestures, and typically sit still. Female Body Language Female body language changes in time, differs from culture to culture and it is not universal to all women. There are, however, some actions that most women have in common. Posture: Many women use closed body language which could be a cultural convention to appear smaller. However, when they want to look more attractive, they will straighten their posture. Leaning: When they are interested in something or someone women tend tol ean forward – they also lean away when offended, displeased or uncomfortable. Eye contact: Eye contact and dilated pupils are a signal of interest (in what is said or the person saying it). Copying: Women frequently mirror (copy) the actions of each other and occasionally mirror even men. Physical contact: Women are more inclined to touching each other than men are. Tapping: Tapping, squirming or fidgeting is a sign that a woman is upset, annoyed or uncomfortable. Male Body Language Just like female body language is not universal to all women, male body language is not universal to all men. However, certain aspects of body language are common to many men – they are often seen as more aggressive and dominating. Some women are encouraged to adapt male body language in particular workplaces. Posture: In order to increase their size, men often choose wide stances. Wide leg position and a straight back (both when sitting and standing) demonstrates confidence. Eye contact: Men do make eye contact, but it can often be seen as a dominating act if it lasts too long. Just like in women, dilated pupils are a signal of interest. Copying: Men do not usually mirror each other, but ofttimes mirror women to show interest. Hands: Men are more prone to fidgeting than women. The fidgeting doesn’t always indicate insecurity or boredom, it is often just a way to use their energy.
Censorship

Censorship

2022-01-1730:02

Definition “Censorship is the suppression of speech, public communication, or other information. This may be done on the basis that such material is considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or "inconvenient". Censorship can be conducted by governments, private institutions and other controlling bodies.” What is the most common form of censorship within schools? Book banning is the most widespread form of censorship in the United States, with children's literature being the primary target. Advocates for banning a book or certain books fear that children will be swayed by its contents, which they regard as potentially dangerous. https://www.theguardian.com/books/2021/nov/25/us-libraries-report-spike-in-organised-atte Is censorship needed in public school library/curriculum? Students need the freedom of their minds. Censorship is particularly harmful in the schools because it prevents student with inquiring minds from exploring the world, seeking truth and reason, stretching their intellectual capacities, and becoming critical thinkers. We’ve become a society where we are terrified of what people think and no longer allow for actual freedom of text, opinion and to perhaps critically think through many topics in which students will encounter in everyday life or even if they don’t encounter the information, they can experience stories that they may never have learned about or experienced. That’s the beauty of stories and text, the idea that you can travel without actually leaving where you are. It feels like a subtle way of creating division and a very small minded way of thinking Is censorship Needed in entertainment industry? Censorship is definitely necessary in the entertainment industry. Not all content that is produced is fit to be viewed by every age or group

Please Follow All Social Media @CreativeHabitsPodcast Why is technology bad for communication? Technology is already changing the way we are communicating with each other. The face-to-face decline of communication is the result of advancement in the new devices and ease of connectivity. The decline of communication is a consequence of a change in the medium. We tend to be more inclined to exchanging information via text messages, emails, and social media updates. In 1995, only six million people were using the Internet. Now, in 2022, over 3.7 billion people over the globe use the Internet. However, it is clear that technology has contributed greatly to the decline of communication. It has disrupted the development of social and interpersonal skills. Technology has decreased the sensitivity to emotional cues-losing the ability to understand the emotions of other people Technology is not always bad for the humans. But too much reliance on it can sometimes produce hazardous results for us. For example, the increasing use of music players, alarm clocks, televisions, computers, and smartphones portrays our dependence on it. The ease of technology use has been a major factor in the decline of communication with a person. The use of these different mediums has also impacted the quality of communications. Social Media Friendships Make Real Friends Less Important We used to cherish friendships with real friends before the advent of social media. People would find time to reach out to friends and meet them in person. However, the ability to add anyone as a friend regardless your affiliation with them has reduced the importance of depth in friendship. Even if you see someone in real life, you do not feel the urge to have a face-to-face conversation. The use of social media cannot replace the benefits of building a social network with your friends and having face-to-face meetings with them. Therefore, instead of declining to use social media for conversations, you must put it to intelligent use. Break the ice by adding people you know but have never talked to in person. However, always find the time to meet with them in person to talk and communicate your viewpoint. Some Ways to Overcome Decline of Communication Due to Technology Use of the Right Medium We should not just use one medium for every type of conversation. For example, it would be more appropriate to send your colleague an office document via email instead of as an attachment on Facebook. Avoid Use of Slang or Shorter Sentences of Words Everyone is not familiar with the slang words, shorter sentences or self-made acronyms. Therefore, avoid using them wherever possible. The use of meaningless words and sentences adds to decline of communication. Understand Cultural Contexts If you are communicating with a person of another region, understand their culture. The decline of communication quality can stem from ignoring about cultural values. For example, some cultures praise individual efforts while in others, people appreciate team effort. Learn A Few Phrases from Other Language There is no harm in learning a few phrases with their meaning from another language. Always make sure to use them in the right context. For example, saying hi in Chinese to your Chinese client can help break the barriers of communication.

Self Awareness Pt 2.

Self Awareness Pt 2.

2022-01-0430:48

Part 2 Self awareness in groups Johari  window A johari window test is nothing but a self help test... It helps you identify your weakness or strengths... What happens is that there are about 50 adjectives given in a box... You must pick the ones that describe you and then your peers or people that you know or hang around with are asked to pick some adjectives that describe you... Now these words that are picked are placed in four boxes... One box is the arena where the words that have been picked by you and your peers is placed... These are your public or know traits... Then the ones that are picked by you and not by others fall into the 2nd box which is the facade... These are the traits that you hide or don't show people... The third box is where the adjectives your peers picked but you didn't are placed... This box is the blind spot where the traits you didn't know you had are placed... And the fourth box is where the neither you nor your peers picked adjectives are placed... This tells about your potential... These four boxes are arranged like a house of four rooms which are called johari houses... Hence the test name johari window... It is necessary to improve self-awareness and personal development among individuals when they are in a group. The ‘Johari’ window model is a convenient method used to achieve this task of understanding and enhancing communication between members in a group. American psychologists Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham developed this model in 1955. The idea was derived as the upshot of the group dynamics in University of California and was later improved by Joseph Luft. The name ‘Johari’ came from joining their first two names, Joseph and Harry . This model is also denoted as feedback or a disclosure model of self-awareness.

Self awareness (Introduction ) self awareness test : https://www.buzzfeed.com/natalyalobanova/what-per-cent-self-aware-are-you People who are not self aware may 1. overestimate their abilities underestimate their weaknesses have difficulty assessing their true motivations for the way they behave. have difficulty interpreting the emotions they are feeling Self-awareness involves being aware of different aspects of ones self including traits, behaviors, and feelings. Essentially, it is a psychological state in which oneself becomes the focus of attention. “self-awareness is [also] the ability to look at your own words and actions from a perspective outside of yourself; to see yourself as others see you.” In this sense, we can see how self-awareness is a way of introspection that doesn’t shut the world out, but rather brings it in for assessment against one’s own feelings and behaviors. While self-awareness is something that is central to who you are, it is not something that you are acutely focused on at every moment of every day. Instead, self-awareness becomes woven into the fabric of who you are and emerges at different points depending on the situation and your personality. When we engage in self-evaluation, we can give some thought to whether we are thinking and feeling and acting as we “should” or following our standards and values. This is referred to as comparing against our standards of correctness. We do this daily, using these standards as a way to judge the rightness of our thoughts and behaviors. Using these standards is a major component of practicing self-control, as we evaluate and determine whether we are making the right choices to achieve our goals.
