Description

In 1994, an air-conditioning-unit-installer and a small-time radio DJ joined together to create the largely popular radio duo Opie & Anthony. With a career spanning more than 20 years, they were loud, they were obnoxious, they were in your face, they wouldn’t let up. They started as brothers. They ended as enemies. But unlike other entertainment duos that break up, a full audience had the opportunity to listen into their relationship every day, and watch as it gradually crumbled. They got on the news, many times. They got people fired. They stirred up controversy, over and over and over again. They got fired. More than once. Relationships were made along the way, with heavy hitting comedians such as Jim Norton, Patrice O’Neal, Rich Vos, and Louis CK. Rivalries were formed, not just with other radio giants such as Howard Stern, but with each other. Their audience spanned millions of people around the country. Their reach was unmatched. This is their story. On this podcast, we’ll discuss the rise and fall of the two radio DJs who changed the face of radio.

Really loved this series!! It's a great overview of their careers and something that I've always wished I had known. Thank you so much for putting this together! I really liked the Patrice O'Neal episode also, he was a legend! Have you thought about doing a summary episode of the whole Jill Nicolini story???🤣🤣🤣

dude if you made more of these would be amazing these casts are great. I mean it was like a kinda 15 year frame but these guys changed everything and quoting Joe Rogan created podcasts. This was a time you can't recreate I listen to them on wysp in high school they had the Tyson in London all that and I followed to satellite radio. I have been recently looking back on their old episodes with Patrice and ah man you do him a service. He is a God and maybe lesser known but comedy top 3 not even 5
