Growing up in Kansas City, her main sport was hockey for the longest time, until she realized the trajectory her lacrosse career was on. Throughout getting to play alongside Madison this past year, it's evident that her work ethic is contagious on and off the lacrosse field.   Already having graduated in 3 years with an engineering degree from Northwestern and taking a gap year, Madison came back to lacrosse & school at Johns Hopkins. She crushed her return to the field, fell in love with the game again, and is now playing professionally while chasing after two more degrees and working an engineering job. Madison proves it's possible to wear a lot of hats, absolutely crush it while wearing each of them, and still find time to enjoy the little moments in life. Katie O'Donnell is here for this episode, and I'm so excited for each of you to dive into our conversation with one of Penn State's most recognizable names in the game. We take a deep dive into KO's upbringing, having both a lacrosse and field hockey stick in her hands at a young age and viewing the game from a unique perspective as she supported her Mom's dreams as a lacrosse official in some of the biggest game atmospheres.   KO is now the head coach at Drexel University in Philly, and we talk a lot about some of her favorite pieces of advice, quotes to live by, and daily habits she focuses on that keep her dominating the dual life she lives, coaching Division I & playing professionally and for the Team USA training team. She has big dreams, and a lot of words of inspiration she's using to chase them. Katie Detwiler is here to join us on this episode, and I can't wait for you all to hear a bit more about her story to success. Katie is a highly decorated defender playing currently at the professional level for Athletes Unlimited and on the training team for Team USA. Her athleticism, aggressiveness, and timely manner is showed on the field every time she's matched up against the opposing team's best offensive player - and it's incredible to watch, though it's not so exciting to play against! But that's exactly how teammates challenge each other to be better.   Challenging her teammates to be great, playing with joy, and treating others with kindness are some of the things that Katie hopes to instill in those around her. From listening to this episode, and getting a deeper look into who Katie is as a person and a lacrosse player, I truly felt I am able to be a little kinder, more joyful, and more inspired for greatness -- and I hope that rings true for you, too. Ellie Masera is here with us for this episode, and for those of you who don't know - Ellie and I both played collegiately for Stony Brook but our playing careers unfortunately never overlapped while we were there. Ellie is a star emerging at the highest levels currently - playing for Athletes Unlimited professionally and making a mark in her international career with Team USA on the Sixes and field training team rosters. If you've ever watched Ellie play, you know she's a speedster who just makes the game look so effortless -- the most difficult plays seeming to come easy to her time and time again.   But as we come to notice in talking through her journey on this podcast - she puts the work in when nobody is watching, she comes from a family whose passion surrounds the game, and she ultimately is a competitor that strives for success for her team no matter the circumstance. It was very intriguing for me to dive deeper into Ellie's story on this episode, and I feel closer than ever to my fellow Seawolf! Nicole Levy is this episode's guest and I could not be more excited for you all to hear more about her story. Nicole mentions her passion for the game of lacrosse a bunch in this episode, and as we get to know her on a deeper level throughout our conversation - we realize how important that is in connecting to her love for playing, coaching, and experiencing all the highs and lows that come with having a career in sports. She's been inspired by some of the all time greats, and she can absolutely consider herself one of those all time greats herself.   Having played at the professional level, being at the top of the record books at a storied program like Syracuse lacrosse, and coaching for multiple top 20 Division I programs - Nicole for sure knows a thing or two about performing at the highest level.
