The Cell 2

The Cell 2

2026-03-3002:02:46

We have the electrodes attached to our heads to enter the mind of whoever dreamed up the weirdo sequel, The Cell 2,  from 2009. You'll hear how we have the exact opposite reaction to almost every single scene despite agreeing completely on how ineptly all scenes are written, acted, and directed, a conversation about what to call the room that services as the titular cell in this movie, and a chat about the lengthy credits for this sequel that leave no doubt as to what you just watched. Enjoy! Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
Vacancy 2: The First Cut

Vacancy 2: The First Cut

2026-03-2301:49:00

We've made our reservations and packed our bags because it's time to talk about Vacancy 2: The First Cut. We're not exactly of like mines about this first film in the second half of the 2009 sequels. You'll hear what we think of the fake out first twenty minutes of this movie, several different diatribes about the film's characters failing to do the most basic things to ensure their villainous plan works, and how the film's heroes seem equally ill-equipped to perform their escape from death. Enjoy! Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
We're self-abusing professionals and decided to finish what we started two years ago by ranking and declaring for the second half of the 2009 single sequels. You'll hear why one of us got the top of our list correct while the other went rogue for reasons of his own, how different the middle of our lists are and by that we mean completely different, and how one of these movies ensured that the bottom of our list could have no variations whatsoever. That movie is like the game limbo and asks itself, "How low can I go?" Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
Nobody can possibly imagine this series going on after we saw Hannibal rise but that's exactly what we're doing because it's time to pitch sequels to the Hannibal series! You'll hear which of us is going the Godfather II route, which of us went the bring back the cast no matter how old they are route, and whether or not we like and our can remember each other's titles. Enjoy! Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
Hannibal Rising

Hannibal Rising

2026-02-2301:43:56

We've donned our culturally inappropriate samurai gear to do battle with the 2007 sequel, Hannibal Rising. You'll hear how quickly we think this movie goes off the rails as it starts to build sympathy for the serial killing character we know as Hannibal Lecter, so many tangents about a myriad of things that have nothing to do with this sequel, and a disagreement about what we should be talking about at the end of this film as one of us has clearly given up wanting to talk about this sloppy mess of a movie. Hannibal

Hannibal

2026-02-1602:28:45

We've contacted the smell police because we're on the case of trying to figure out the 2001 sequel, Hannibal. You'll hear the unkind things we have to say about the pigeon forward opening credits, how much we labor to get through most of this movie because the movie itself labors so much and for so long, and how much we enjoy the end of this movie because it finally gets good the second we expose Ray Liotta's brain, which is when the movie abruptly ends. The Silence of the Lambs

The Silence of the Lambs

2026-02-0902:35:50

It's time for some quid pro quo, we tell you things about The Silence of the Lambs, you tell us things about what we think of The Silence of the Lambs. Most people don't realize this film is actually a sequel but we do this professionally so you'll hear what we think this 1991 sequel has to say about gender, a back and forth about the performance of Anthony Hopkins and what in that performance is working for and against the film, and discussions about the direction and editing choices that sets this movie apart from most other sequels. Hannibal Series Ranking

Hannibal Series Ranking

2026-02-0201:35:55

We have a job for you, more like an interesting errand and that's to listen to our ranking and declaring episode for the Hannibal Lecter series. Nothing you hear should surprise you including which movie tops our ranking, which movie we both feel belongs nowhere but at the bottom of our lists and we'll chat about the weirdo movie in the middle that we thought we'd hate but somehow has it's pleasantries which surprised us both. Slice off a piece of Ray Liotta's brain and grab a chianti and join in on the fun! Can we borrow $20 bucks to talk about how much we love The Naked Gun from 1988? Nevermind, we're in a giving mood still and decided to throw you one more gift from our Patreon. You'll hear why we like the casting and performance of Priscilla Presley, how the movie is still funny enough to make you enjoy an acting job from O.J. Simpson, no easy feat, and we won't rest until you understand just how funny this film, now let's go get a bite to eat. Airplane! (A Patreon Gift)

We've decided to start off the year lazy and therefore are giving you a gift from our Patreon, so surely you'll enjoy our chat about Airplane! You'll hear why we think this is not just an all-time great comedy, but an instruction manual for how to do screen comedy, how much we love that everyone involved plays their roles as serious as they do, and how highly we regard a post credit scene that seems to now be a lost art. You can trust us, we're podcasters. Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
The Naked Gun (2025)

The Naked Gun (2025)

2025-12-2902:27:30

We drank enough coffee to stay awake just long enough to finish up with our 2025 year and round of legacy sequels with The Naked Gun. You'll hear which actor we think gets the comedy almost completely wrong as well as which actor is getting the comedy so right we wish everyone was on that page, our chat about the villain and whether or not he's failing the movie or the movie is failing him, and we try to mention all the jokes, here and there, that we think actually work. Enjoy! Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
We continue catching up with the legacy sequels from 2025 and are donning our hot slickers and hats to chat about I Know What You Did Last Summer. You'll hear what we think of the lead actors and characters and why they work for this film, why we think bringing back legacy actors from the original '97 hit was a good idea including the surprise ending that we both liked and how we believe that even when this movie is clumsy, it's not in a way to bother you too much, helping the movie to be an easy watch. Karate Kid: Legends

Karate Kid: Legends

2025-12-1502:13:18

We continue catching up with the legacy sequels of 2025 as we slice first and slice hard talking about Karate Kid: Legends. You'll hear the many questions we have about the opening of this film and if Mr. Han is, in fact, the legend Mr. Han we knew from 2010, the positive and negative reactions we had to this movie's time efficiency which oddly helps and hinders the picture and a chat about whether or not the movie got better right before the credits start when we finally see a character that made previous attempts to reengage with this franchise work. Enjoy! Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
Hollywood isn't finished with four different series that we've previously covered and our professionalism dictates it's time to take catch up and take care of some business. We start with the first movie released this year and possibly the number one of these films in our hearts with Final Destination: Bloodlines, released just this past May. You'll hear a lengthy conversation about this sequel's opening scene that we simply can't find a way to shut up about, how much respect we heap on the directors and Tony Todd for finding a way to give the veteran actor the perfect sendoff for the series and his life and how much glee we find in the movies refusal to let a single character off the hook from death's steely glare. Enjoy! Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
It's time to settle the score and pitch some sequels to the cult classic series, A Nightmare on Elm Street! You'll hear that both of your fearless hosts have come in doing their additional homework but have vastly different interpretations of that homework, which of us tried to connect our pitch to modern day technology and which of our pitches connects a reinterpretation of the first film in the series. Let the battle begin! Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
Freddy vs. Jason (Again)

Freddy vs. Jason (Again)

2025-11-1701:18:44

It won't be a giant battle to the death for your fearless podcast hosts as we agree quite a bit on what works about the 2003 sequel, Freddy vs. Jason. You'll hear all our thoughts for a second year in a row for this film but only from the Freddy point of view including the inciting incident that starts this movie, almost nothing about the cornfield attack because that mostly involves the other fella and if we like that Freddy's back to his old, jokey self in the final battle for what proved to almost be the last movie in the nightmare series. Wes Craven's New Nightmare

Wes Craven's New Nightmare

2025-11-1002:04:11

We're bursting out of our closets to tell you what we think of the 1994 sequel, Wes Craven's New Nightmare. You'll hear all our thoughts on the new look of Freddy and how effective the look is at being scary, what the crew and what we think about Wes Craven's ability to write things that come true and benefit the film and the problems we have with the movie's ending, which keep this from being a truly great addition to the series. Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
We might not be falling head over heels for our next movie but we'll break through any barriers to let you know why as we talk about the 1991 sequel, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. You'll hear what we like about the opening scene, a disagreement about how the looney tunes nature of this film hits each of us as we watch and our thoughts about the ever changing history of Freddy Krueger and whether now was the time to do these changes. Enjoy! Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
We're wheeling the baby buggy into our closets to prepare for our talk about the 1989 sequel, A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child! You'll hear a disagreement about the nature of dreams and how they work, further disagreements about what works and doesn't work for this film including the performances from the lead actors, and lastly, even more disagreements about whether or not the end of this film is it's strength or it's weakness. Enjoy!   Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami
We don't need a dog to piss fire on us to wake up to the idea that the 1988 sequel, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master is a good movie, although we may disagree about exactly how good a movie it actually is. You'll hear a disagreement about how and when the cast from the previous film should meet their demise, a discussion if the overall look of the film is more cinematic or made for television and absolutely no disagreement about some of the films set pieces including a time loop dream and the practical effects of trapped souls escaping Freddy's body. Enjoy! Thanks to our monthly supporters Matt and Vicki S Kate Lampe Daniel Prudhoe Andrew Pangle Steve Weiss Matthew Aldrich Edward Lankford Heather Sahami

Honestly, The Spy Who Shagged Me is my favorite of the three. I love Felicity, I love the humor, etc. My biggest grip, honestly, is that they didn’t do more with how Austin was struggling with the loss of his mojo. His sexual prowess is what defines Austin. He should be at his lowest point. I would have liked to see Austin struggle more to overcome his impotency and everything, because honestly, other than the moments where they explicitly mention he doesn’t have his mojo, he just acts like his
