Thank you so much for this episode. My husband died due to alcohol. In your advice on how to talk to widows of addiction, you said to be mindful they may have suffered abuse. Please don't assume because there was addiction that there was abuse. Living with an addicted partner is absolutely traumatic and complicated, but assuming there was abuse plays into the stigmas against alcoholics. Several friends have told me they are mad at my husband for me, and I hate that.
