Description
Many barriers exist that can prevent us from seeing the cross clearly. We want to attempt to remove those barriers and share the gospel.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15).
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

Episode 246Bonkers - 20What does a Jamaican cult leader, Halloween, and the Supreme Court's ruling on a dog all have in common? They are all examples of how our world has gone bonkers! On this episode, we will discuss a pastor in Jamaica who was able to twist the scriptures and create a cult that had members killing one another and opening fire on the police. Though the pastor is to blame, shouldn't we also blame the congregants who remained ignorant of the scriptures? We also consider occultic Halloween advertising and Kirk Cameron's positive stance on Halloween and ask: should Christians celebrate Halloween or abstain? Some Christians say it is a harmless opportunity for local outreach, while others will go so far as to shut off the porch light to discourage trick-or-treaters! Where do you fall on the spectrum? What about a case about an unfriendly dog that made it all the way up to the Supreme Court? Don't our justices have better things to do with their time? Join us on this episode to discuss these bonkers headlines and more!Listen to the Removing Barriers Podcast here:Spotify: https://cutt.ly/Ega8YeI Apple Podcast: https://cutt.ly/Vga2SVdYouTube: https://cutt.ly/mga8A77Podnews: https://podnews.net/podcast/i4jxoSee all our platforms: https://removingbarriers.netContact us:Email us: https://removingbarriers.net/contactFinancially support the show: https://removingbarriers.net/donateAffiliates:Book Shop: https://bookshop.org/shop/removingbarriersFastmail: https://join.fastmail.com/8e23c12bSee all our affiliates: https://removingbarriers.net/affiliatesNotes:Jamaican Pastor: https://www.jamaicaobserver.com/2026/09/22/pastor-shot-twice/Chipotle Halloween Ad: https://churchleaders.com/news/2224172-chipotle-halloween-ouija-board-christian-backlash.htmlBruce the dog euthanized in California: https://abcnews.com/US/despite-emergency-appeal-supreme-court-bruce-dog-euthanized/story?id=135593840Man beats father to death with hammer: https://kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news/charges-man-fatally-beat-father-with-hammer-after-being-released-from-hospital/Los Angeles Taxpayers: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1286896856758927Father leaves 7-year-old son alone: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c93403wg288o
Episode 245Lindsay Clancy was a middle-aged suburban mother who murdered her 3 children then attempted suicide in January of 2023. Her 2026 trial was noteworthy not just because of the holdout juror whose guilty vote resulted in a mistrial, but also the online feminist response that excused the crime and blamed the husband. Thousands of women recorded themselves and their children in Tiktok videos with the caption "Same, Lindsay." In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast we discuss the murder and the defense's claim that Lindsay was suffering from postpartum psychosis and should not be criminally responsible for the murders. We also try to understand the psychotic online response from an alarming number of women, as well as the media's horrid treatment of the holdout juror simply because he didn't reach the verdict they all wanted. How did we get here, and how can we turn back from it? Episode 244When Karmelo Anthony and Austin Metcalf's altercation ended in murder at a track meet in Texas in 2025, it seemed to be a forgone conclusion that it would attract national attention because of the difference in skin color and the fact that these boys were of high school age. What we got in addition, however, was even more concerning. While grappling with the reality of increasing rage and degeneracy in our youth, we had to wrestle with the fact that the ideological echo chambers of yesteryear had morphed into rabid angry support groups for the intersectional victim no matter what heinous crime they had committed. Karmelo Anthony was the innocent black angel who was just defending himself against an angry white giant and to suggest otherwise meant you were an evil racist worthy of the same fate as his victim. On this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, we discuss the tragic events and the subsequent trial, but we also discuss the growing radicalization of ideological groups online that have warped our moral compass as a people because social media has put their views on display for all of us to engage with. Should we engage, and how should we do so as Bible believing Christians? Join us as we discuss these questions and more. Episode 243Series: On the Mission Field - 32In the Basque Country of northern Spain, Missionary Daniel Darling and his family are faithfully serving the Lord. Saved at the age of four, Daniel Darling went on a missions trip to Bilbao, Spain as a young married man. He returned to the states, but the Lord was already hard at work on his heart about returning there to serve. He and his family obeyed the Lord and are now living in southern France near the Spanish border of Basque Country. There are many cultural and religious elements that play into his work of sharing the gospel; some elements are significant barriers to salvation while others are might be considered mere inconveniences. One thing is consistent, however: there are many souls in that country that, despite the permeation of Catholicism into almost all areas of life, have no idea what the church really is and how Jesus' sacrifice on the cross made full payment for sin. Daniel's work there seeks to change that. Join us as we learn about his mission field and the needs thereof, and what God is doing to draw lost men to Him through the Darling Family's obedience to Him.Listen to the Removing Barriers Podcast here:Spotify: https://cutt.ly/Ega8YeIApple Podcast: https://cutt.ly/Vga2SVdYouTube: https://cutt.ly/mga8A77Podnews: https://podnews.net/podcast/i4jxoSee all our platforms: https://removingbarriers.netContact us:Email us: https://removingbarriers.net/contactFinancially support the show: https://removingbarriers.net/donateAffiliates:Book Shop: https://bookshop.org/shop/removingbarriersChristian Books.com: https://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/home?event=AFF&p=1236574Fastmail: https://join.fastmail.com/8e23c12bSee all our affiliates: https://removingbarriers.net/affiliatesNotes:Website: https://darlingmissionaries.wordpress.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/daniel.k.darling
Episode 242Missionary Marco joins us on this episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast to discuss John Perkins, a pastor described at the time of his death as one of America's unsung heroes for having sought to heal the scourge of racism through the ministry of the church. He was raised by his grandmother after the death of his mother and the abandonment of his father and came to faith as an adult, at the invitation of his son. From that point on, having experienced overt racism firsthand and making the Christlike decision to forgive, Perkins threw all of himself into ministering to the people around him. He moved out of the affluent area he was living in to a less desirable "ghetto" area. All aspects of his ministry involved real action to combat socio-economic issues that accompany the spiritual issues the people faced. At first glance and in light of recent trends, we may be tempted to dismiss his work as the social gospel or woke theology, but Missionary Marco argues that our churches may be able to learn a thing or two about missions from Perkins, and that Christians should be challenged to give more of themselves to the Great Commission. Though there are certain aspects of Perkins' theology that Missionary Marco would not agree with, he joins us to help shed more light on this relatively unknown minister and the good he's done to address some of the ugly realities in U.S. race relations today.Listen to the Removing Barriers Podcast here:Spotify: https://cutt.ly/Ega8YeI Apple Podcast: https://cutt.ly/Vga2SVdYouTube: https://cutt.ly/mga8A77Podnews: https://podnews.net/podcast/i4jxoSee all our platforms: https://removingbarriers.netContact us:Email us: https://removingbarriers.net/contactFinancially support the show: https://removingbarriers.net/donateAffiliates:Book Shop: https://bookshop.org/shop/removingbarriersChristian Books . com: https://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/home?event=AFF&p=1236574Fastmail: https://join.fastmail.com/8e23c12bSee all our affiliates: https://removingbarriers.net/affiliatesNotes:Episode 18 - Racial Relations and the Church: https://removingbarriers.net/rbp_18/
