Many barriers exist that can prevent us from seeing the cross clearly. We want to attempt to remove those barriers and share the gospel.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15).
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

Episode 210The gruesome murder of Iryna Zarutska on a public train in Charlotte, North Carolina shocked the world. Completely unprovoked and unexpected, the Ukrainian refugee's death added to the heavy and persistent burden we groan under: the realization that things have gone terribly wrong in our nation and the principalities we wrestle against (and the people submitted to their evil influence) are increasingly belligerent, malicious, and daring. The murderer, an evil serial offender who was a menace even to his own family, walked away unbothered as Iryna died right in her seat where he attacked her. How could this have happened? What could have been done to prevent this? How is it that no one came to her aid until it was too late? And how is it that we did not hear about her murder until two weeks after it happened? Episode 198Series: On the Mission Field - 21In this installment of the On the Mission Field series, we interview the O'Briens to Ukraine. John and his wife Cathy have dedicated their lives to reaching the lost souls of eastern Ukraine. Despite the horrors following the 2022 invasion and at great personal cost, they refused to leave, continuing to provide help, comfort, supplies, and the gospel to the people of the region. Understandably, most missionaries have fled. With so many lives lost, so many homes destroyed, and so many families bereft of hope and security, people are now more open to spiritual truth. John and Cathy stand in the gap, serving the Lord and being the vessels through whom God continues to shower grace on the Ukrainians. Additionally, their ministries to the deaf and to military servicemembers are thriving amidst the chaos. Though they did not initially set out to minister to these people groups, God equipped and commissioned them for it. Dearborn is in southern Michigan and is a suburb of Detroit. It is famous as the hometown of Henry Ford and the Ford Motor Company, as well as for its status as the city with the largest Muslim population in the country. It also has the largest mosque in the nation. With these stats, we may be tempted to engage through fleshly predispositions. David Gates, however, explains in this interview how Dearborn is no different from any other U.S. city, and how a love for Christ and for souls will help us override those predispositions and see the lost souls behind the mosques, the hijabs, or the calls to prayer. But what many of us do not realize is that these organizations, though established with good intentions, are completely infiltrated with unbiblical ideologies like feminism, woke-ism, and racism. We must expose these things to encourage reform and repentance. Shawn Henly of Cross Crusaders has been actively trying to warn and inform Christians of IVCF's departure from the scriptures for a long time now, and he joins us to peel back the rot underneath the veneer of christian evangelism. Tricia is a successful homeschool veteran, having educated her own children and now providing help and encouragement to others. Homeschooling participation had been steadily increasing since the 1980s, but 2020 caused an explosive increase that intensified interest and criticism. The perfect storm of fear, government control, and social unrest shut the world down, and the ideologies infecting the school system were laid bare. Confidence was at an all-time low and suddenly, homeschooling was not just for fundies, zealots, hippies, and conspiracy theorists. Parents began to see it for what it was all along: a reasonable course of action for the education of their children. But is homeschooling the best option? Should we be encouraging parents to educate their children when most of them are not trained educators? What about socialization and extracurricular activities? Tricia has faced the skepticism and criticism that comes with the decision to homeschool, and she helps us peel back the curtain to see it through a lens of wonder and possibility, answering the objections and championing the merits. Episode 192Series: On the Mission Field - 19The Fahringer family is on their way to Chile! In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast, Geoffrey Fahringer takes precious time out of his day to tell us more about the country of Chile, the spiritual needs there, and his family's desire to minister to the people there. Chile is a long, narrow, beautiful strip of land in South America spanning from the base of Peru all the way down to the tip of the continent, and jumping the ocean to claim certain parts of Antartica. The people groups are diverse, but the need is the same: a saving faith and growing relationship with the Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ. Geoffrey Fahringer would have never in a million years seen himself as a missionary because he was far along the path of military service and law enforcement. But after the Lord saved him, it became increasingly clear that God had plans for his family in that beautiful country. Geoffrey and his family surrendered, and today we get to hear all about what God has been doing to bring a gospel witness to the people there.
