Dr Ike Ahmed, the one and only superstar of ophthalmology joins me for a chat. Dr Ashiyana Nariani is an absolutely inspirational ophthalmologist. Born and raised in the USA, she trained in cornea, refractive surgery and ocular oncology at Duke University as well as working with the World Health Organisation. Her passion to care for the underserved brought her to India where she strives not only to care for those less fortunate but teach her trainees about the importance of patient advocacy. She continues to be involved in global education and is someone we can all learn from in ophthalmology and in life.

Dr Arthur Cummings is an ophthalmologist who is changing the way the world views refractive surgery. Arthur is a brilliant refractive surgeon in Dublin, Ireland who is well known for his research and publications. His eloquent writing simplifies the most complicated refractive topics. Arthur is passionate about driving the Refractive Surgery Alliance to revolutionise the image of refractive surgery by developing an incredible refractive fellowship program as well as a college of refractive surgery. Arthur has an incredible understanding of the role of ophthalmology in society that definitely deserves a second look.

Dr Jacqui Beltz, ophthalmologist, cornea, cataract and refractive surgeon from Melbourne, Australia joins me for a chat. You may know Jacqui from her many presentations and courses at meetings around the world about her state of the art corneal surgery and more recently small aperture IOLs, or you may have attended her very own conference, GenEYE! Jacqui is director of training in the state of Victoria and has revolutionised  teaching of surgery with the introduction of high performance techniques more often seen on the sports field. I'm sure you will agree Jacqui Beltz deserves the second look and hopefully you will also pick up some tips for a safe return to the operating theatre after a break. 

Damien Gatinel, world famous ophthalmologist, joins me for an amazing chat about his many talents. Damien is responsible for inventing the trifocal IOL. His detailed knowledge of optics is incredible and he has even come up with a new and improved classification system for aberrations. That would be enough for most people but he has also revolutionised our thinking about keratoconus with his "no rub, no cone" theory. Listen to one of the most brilliant minds in the eye world today explain his passions. I'm sure you will pick up a few new ideas for your practice too!

If you have anything to do with cataract surgery, you will know of Professor Doug Koch from Houston, Texas. Doug has had an influence on so many aspects of cataract surgery, from rediscovering the posterior cornea, IOL calculation tools on the ASCRS website and he is even responsible for a popular phaco chopper you may be using. Doug is an amazing teacher and surgeon with a deep understanding of optics and a passion for improving ophthalmology. Don't let his soothing accent relax you too much or you'll miss out on a second look at one of the most interesting and influential people in the eye world and an idol of mine.

Ivo Ferreira is an ophthalmology superstar who is absolutely passionate about teaching cataract surgery. Ivo runs the Ophthalmology University where he uses the latest techniques to teach ophthalmologists cataract surgery. Ivo's teaching style stands out as he focuses not just on practical skills but also on the mental side of surgery. His phacomentors program material is enjoyed by thousands around the world.
