Team Sweden is up next in our WTC Crème de la Crème and who could be more fitting to answer our questions than the team's captain - Jonathan. In this one we cover the usual topics like lessons learned from the previous year or the ambition this year, but we also delve into a bunch of other interesting threads. One of them is the influence of the Internet on the competitive world at large. We also talk about the challenges that await a freshly appointed captain. We hope you enjoy this one as much as we enjoyed recording it!

Creme de la Creme series hits its 7th entry with an interview about Team USA. Our special guest is Anthony Vanella of Stat Check and Art of War fame, who speaks about the American perception of the WTC and the 40k scene outside of the States. We wanted to find out if Anthony's multiple trips to Europe and playing at events over there somehow shaped his view of foreign metas and if there were any lessons learned that he took back with him to the Art of War house to share. It's an interesting guest with tons of stories (including one about a certain bet) to tell, so listen in and enjoy!

It's the episode that everyone has been waiting for: Tony - the captain of Team England - opens up about the challenges of managing a team of stars, why the English are the heels of the 40k scene, how his team reacts to the AnyoneButEngland hashtag and how they plan to take down their biggest rivals.

In the newest episode in the WTC Creme de la Creme series tweek and Nathan talk to Ruud Steenbakkers - the playing captain of Team Netherlands. Here you will find out how Holland finds the 10th edition and what their ambition this year is. We delve into two very interesting topics: the psyche of a player and how the Dutch Captain and Coaches help players adapt to the demands of the event. The second topic might be even more interesting and that is how teams (national but not only) can go about funding for their travels, the accomodation, the gadgets and all that jazz. It's a fascinating tale with a lot of valuable take-aways so do give it a listen and let us know what you think!

In the next episode of WTC Crème de la Crème we talk to Gabriel from Team Spain who sheds some more light onto the wargaming scene in Spain, talks about the role of a non-playing captain and the superiority of the American pidgeon over the European pidgeon. We hope you enjoy!

Team Poland's Pumba is out guest this time to talk about the Polish eventful ETC/WTC history and the Polish attitude towards the event. But more importantly he gets to decide who wins the fight: an American goose vs a European goose... and it would not be an episode with Poland in its theme if there was no complaining involved so we asked Pumba about his (and his team's) feelings towards 10th edition and boy does he go crescendo... Perhaps listen with your headphones on ;) we warned ya...

WTC Crème de la Crème takes us to Canada - home to Chris Hanes, otherwise known as CanHammerChris, and to the most notable player - Francois Lalonde. Together we talk about Team Canada's history, formation and army selection philosophy. We also used this opportunity to get some hot takes about the 10th edition from our guests and to get their opinion on whether 10th will be problematic or rather smooth sailing for team captains at the WTC. Last but not least we asked how 40k celebrities tackle other 40k celebrities in a shark tank event like this one.

Contact Lost is back after a short vacation and back with a collaboration on a grand scale! We are teaming up with the World Team Championships crew not only to bring you the most interesting interviews with top teams and players attending the event, but also to host the WTC Studio which will be the information center for all your WTC needs.
With this new episode we kick off the World Team Championships Crème de la Crème series in a build-up for the actual event in August. We could not begin with anyone else but the one and only Liam Hackett who joined Tomek (aka tweek) as the Captain of last years victors - Team Australia. Together we discuss their preparation process as well as the challenges related to playing the 10th edition in a teams context. Liam is a volcano of knowledge so, whether you are gathering intel before facing them during the event or you have never heard of the WTC before, make sure you tune in for this fun yet informative interview.

Had to reupload: In this most recent episode recorded live we talked about the Polish team that stormed Bratislava and took Gold (both the trophy and the tickets to Atlanta). To give us all the spicy details of their path to GLORY we invited Vladdi and Arek who both went to the ETC/WTC a number of times. We will check what their preparations, army choices and pairings for Bratislava looked like. We will also cover their matrix building and how their games went in this 4-way conversation.

In this video we talk to Jay Middlecote from Mohawk Miniatures who also happens to be the head judge at the World Team Championships. We discuss the things that make the WTC stand out - the rules, the terrain and adjusting all that for the 10th edition. We also get to talk about the use of clocks at events: we delve into the topics of weaponizing clocks and deathclocking opponents and what the WTC officials are doing to hamper that. We also make our promised big ANNOUNCEMENT...
In our first ever live episode we hosted the amazing Archon Skari of SkaredCast to talk about his successful 40k career as a competitive player, content creator and coach. During the 85 min long interview we got to ask about his work-life balance, ways monetizing content and also about plans for the near and more distant (like... retirement-wise) future. We also got to answer some questions from the chat for which we are very thankful!

'My 40k job' series continues - this time with the one and only Nick Nanavati talking about his Magnum Opus : The Art of War. Within these 70 minutes we delve into the history and formation of one of the most powerful rosters of 40k specialists out there, we talk about establishing a brand with a diversified value propositio and the techniques and methods of growing your brand, attracting sponsors and growing the numbers of your followers. We also talk about the biggest learnings, ways of dealing with stress and tackling professional burnout. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed recording it.
'My 40k job' is really a series of recorded love letters to people who were able to turn a passion into a profession and took 40k to a new level. They are influencers, trend-setters and bring a lot of added value to the community at large and these are their stories....

With this new episode we kick off a brand new series called 'My 40k job' where we will be interviewing people who managed to turn their love for the hobby into a profession. The series will see our guests talking about how they came up with the ideas for their businesses, what are the typical challenges of such endeavors, how their pricing/quotations work, how they structure their offering and even how they do marketing.
We kick off the series with the one and only Innes Wilson of Statcheck and Team Scotland fame. Innes has been offering coaching services since January 2023 as a full-time job and we found it appropriate to let him kickstart what will hopefully turn into an entire series of episodes. If you have ever had any doubts whether 40k coaching is a real job, whether you should try it and whether it is actually worth it - this episode will provide you with answers to all your questions.
Make sure you leave a comment with names of people you would like us to interview next and we will do our best to make that happen!

In this brand new episode tweak interviews Brian Seipp and Pumba about their victory at the Alpine Cup - a 5-man teams event in Austria. Our guests, together with Typhus, Innes Wilson and Anthony Vanella from Stat Check, now secretly under the alias Slut Check have climbed to the top and have done it with style. Tune in to find out what lists they brought, how they paired and why Anthony is the luckiest git. We also touch upon the latest Dataslate, however we focus more on Brian's and Pumba's interpretation and their meta predictions rather than on the slate in details. After all a hundred podcasts have done the analysis already :P
Tune in for another episode of Contact Lost, this time with an update on the Polish Meta and whether it is falling behind the "western trends". We invited Pumba (Polish National Team) to talk about the biggest Polish event this year so far that he himself had organised, we talk about the top lists and how they fit the global meta. We also look at the potential impact that the Desolation Marines could have on the state of the game and do some "wishful thinking" about the upcoming dataslate.
It's a perfect episode to pop a whisky bottle, whip out your brushes and paints and just enjoy the laid back conversation with a lot of insights.
Let us know if you enjoy these kinds of updates :)

This is the second part of the two-parter on Alex Harrison's awesome Space Wolves list that took 2nd place at Manchester GT. In the previous episode we focussed on the list itself and the rationale behind Alex's choices. This time we go into his games, his choice of secondaries and the overll tactics for all games he played. Should be a treat for both Space Wolves players and anyone who might face them on the tables.
Please let us know if you enjoy what we do by liking, subscribing or leaving comments and reviews on spotify and other media. A thumbs-up wouldn;t be too shabby at all as well.

Here's a brand new episode and guess what... tweak is back! and this time he is talking with the pilot of the most interesting Space Marine army at the Manchester Super Major - Alex Harrison. This is the first episode of a two-parter where Alex talks about his list, his games and the tournament overall. In this part Alex provides interesting insights into his list building process and explains the "why" behind all of his unit choices. We then delve into the topic of how his list tackles certain match-ups and how it plays on UKTC tables and what gives it that competitive edge.
We hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed recording it and make sure to listen to part two where we discuss the matchups and what the winning path actually was. Don't miss it!

In this episode, Joker sits down with Typhus (Team Poland / StatCheck) and Ruud (Team NL) to discuss one of the very few 8v8 tournaments out there, which is taking place on the weekend of 18th and 19th March.
Apologies for the sound quality at times! Ruud was recording from... outside.
