What a way to start off the year, a whole bunch of basically nothing in January and then bam a whole bunch of stuff in February. Every year, it gets this time of year and everyone starts putting out their game of the year nominees and winners and we’re no different. However, in the interest of giving you smaller more digestible episodes we’ve decided that it’s more beneficial to break those things up, and as such we’re going to have separate shows for separate things. This week’s episode will be all about next year. That’s right, we’re already looking forward to next year. This will be our annual tradition going forward. The basic premise is that we’re doing a predictions show which we will tally up every year and the winner will be the king/queen of the podcast for the year. Each Person has come up with 5 personal predictions that we will all either say yes or no to and then tally those points when this episode arrives again next year. Games are a unique medium in that the control is given to the observer. Within this structure, systems and mechanics must be built in order to offer control to the player. As such games must constantly innovate or introduce outright new systems and mechanics at a regular pace. That also sometimes means that good mechanics get left behind.
