Miguel Serrato, MS,MHA, PA-C, ATC, is a PAOS member and is in his second year as a practicing orthopaedic PA. He shares with Sam some of the considerations that PAs have regarding financing PA school and student loans. Miguel won the Susan Lindahl Memorial Scholarship in 2019 and we caught up with him in 2021.
The Susan Lindahl Memorial Scholarship was established in 1998. Susan, the wife of our founding president Joe Lindahl, passed away following a battle with a brain tumor in 1997. This scholarship fund was established in her honor recognizing the sacrifices Susan and Joe underwent getting the PAOS off the ground and sustaining the organization in the early years.
The establishment of this memorial scholarship fund was to cultivate and attract PA students into the field of orthopaedics.
