Got a minute? Well...maybe three or four? Then step up and let me tell you a story that puts the FLASH in flash fiction. In today’s hurry-up world, we’re all frazzled by our jobs, families, and those dang domestic responsibilities. So who’s got time for something like a story? Right? Just give me those three or four minutes. I’ll prune away the flowery adjectives. Kill the adverbs and cut the story down to its roots. Then lay out a smack-in-the-forehead finish. Not EXACTLY an ambush, but about as close as I can come without losing my literary license.

When you're new... in a strange land with strange customs...what else can you do but adapt. Especially to their holidays.
"Pardon me." Sometimes a statement. Sometimes a request. Both...a challenge.
This ever happen to you? You run in to an old acquaintance from years ago...and can't remember their name? And when...if...you do, do not do what this guy did.
He knew the dangers of the jungle better than anyone in the village. Yet, fraught with deep depression, he went for his walk-about anyway.

There's nothing like a little peripatetic adventure to refresh the soul and revitalize the old bones. But sometimes those old bones don't know what they're in for.

Walking along the beach is peaceful. Calming. And sometimes productive. Picking up sea shells, driftwood...and whatever else strikes your fancy.
All that incessant yacking. Raucous chatter and gossip. It's enough to drive a man to seek desperate measures.
Playing possum works for a little while. But sometimes it can go on way too long.
It's been said that it's "better to give than to receive." Try telling that to this receiver.

Halloween? Already? What better way to kick it off than scaring your socks off with this dark, ghastly tale of horror.

Herded like animals. Forced to move. Removed to a place where they would not be seen. Would no longer be a problem.
Meat or veggies. Carnivore or vegetarian? There's no doubt which one they are.
