In 2019, Sergeant Floyd took the initiative of digging through thousands of sexual assault cases that had gone cold. As a result of her dedication, she played a huge role in solving and closing the cold case of the Pillowcase Rapist, who is accused of sexually assaulting multiple women in the 1980s. Because of her tireless efforts to bring new leads to these cases and closure to the victims and their families, Sergeant Floyd was named the BSO Detective of the Year in 2020.
