Today with have with us Anahita Mehra, the creative director of Roliana, a Benarasi textile brand that strives to recreate ‘the dying romance between women and weave’. At Roliana, they work on reviving the dying art of weaving Benarasi textiles on handloom since powerloom has taken over. All their manufacturing is done in Benaras and they have a strong community of weavers there. Roliana also promotes sustainable fashion and preserves the rich Indian heritage with its contemporary hue and charm. Join us in understanding how the family run business has built it's foundation on ethical and sustainable practices and have been successful in creating a demand for Benarasi textiles in 2020. By innovating their business model, aesthetic and product, Roliana has managed to build something that is synonymous with slow fashion.
