Episode 5 of the Diverging Clear Podcast discusses the realities of being a railroad employee in America! Even though a tentative agreement has been reached between the carriers and labor unions. it still has to be approved by the members! Major point of contention , paid sick time off! for those that don't know, many railroad employees do not have paid sick time off, And the carriers want to keep it that way.
Episode 4 discusses the current state of contract negotiations between the Class 1 carriers and the unions representing Engineers and Conductors on American Railroads. The Presidential Executive Board has made recommendations to President Biden, but the BLET and SMART TD don't believe the recommendations go far enough. #railroads #trains #railroadlaborunions #PEB #BLET #SMARTTD #unions #contract #negotiations #logistics #trending #strike #supplychain
Episode 3 of the Diverging Clear Podcast discusses America's policy to kill passenger rail service and subsidize other forms of transportation and businesses. I'm actually discussing more of the "Why". The typical answers doesn't suffice when you take a look at some other contributing factors and motivations. In this episode I tie some policy decisions made at the Executive level of the Federal Government starting at Richard Nixon but in all honesty he just continued to carry on previous policies but he just messed up and said it out loud. Don't take this episode as a conspiracy theory. If you doubt the words, the information is out there. I just put it together with a little help from visiting Pullman Days in Chicago.
In Episode 2 of the Diverging Clear Podcast , I discuss the disconnect between the record amount of container traffic flowing in and out of American Ports and the lack of intermodal volume increases for the  railroads. Why is this occurring? Why is logistics defying logic?  #railroads #logistics #supplychain #intermodal #ports #chicago #lax #seatac #trucks #infrastructure #precisionscheduledrailroading #psr
In the Season 2 Premiere of The Diverging Clear Podcast, we discuss the STB Hearing concerning Amtrak requesting the STB grant access CSX and NS lines on the Gulf Coast for service between New Orleans and Mobile. Our main story in this episode deals with the BNSF ending the Montana Rail Link lease and ending the run of this iconic regional railroad! We discuss the details of lease termination and why BNSF decided to pursue retaking these lines.
Part 2 of the Diverging Clear Podcast Bonus Episode wraps up with the discussion on the 2 infrastructure bills (this was recorded prior to the House passing the $550 billion (new spending) bipartisan infrastructure deal) and the now ($1.75 trillion) Budget Reconciliation Package. We will finish the episode discussing the art and science of derailment investigations. Don't forget to hit the like button on the Diverging Clear Podcast Audio Platforms and also share the content as much as possible!!
Part 1 of the Bonus Episode host William E Moore and Co-Host Jemayne Walker are breaking down several topics including the proposed CP/ KCS Merger, the proposed expansion of Amtrak's Intercity Network with possibility of a Nashville Hub and the Supply Chain Woes currently driving the US Economy towards the brink and possible solutions to this problem.
Episode 10 is the Season 1 Finale to The Diverging Clear Podcast. This episode covers Kansas City Southern finally accepting the CP's bid of $31 billion, only after the STB rejected Canadian National's application for a Voting Trust. I'll also cover the latest on the infrastructure bill that's been stuck in purgatory thanks in part to the 2 Senators, 1 from West Virginia and the other from Arizona and a archaic Senate Rule that has done nothing but blocked progress in the country since its creation. And last but not least, the Global Supply Chain that is literally on the verge of collapsing. Check it out!!!
Today's  Episode of the Diverging Clear Podcast will be discussing the drama that has erupted surrounding the proposed the merger of the Canadian Pacific Railroad and the Kansas City Southern. Shortly after the CP announced plans to acquire the KCS for $29 billion (US) the Canadian National Railway put up a counterproposal for $33 billion (US) to acquire the KCS. And from there the proposed merger began to take on the appearance of Soap Opera or a reality TV program.
In this episode of the Diverging Clear Podcast, we take a look at the Suez Canal incident where the Evergreen Marine Vessel "Ever Given" ran aground and blocked the crucial trade link between China and Europe. Not getting into too specifics of what actually happened, we discuss how this one incident caused a ripple effect on the Global Supply Chain and Global Economy. I'll discuss some of the reasons why it had global impact and what needs to be done to mitigate the risks if this happens again. #globalsupplychain #suezcanal #infrastructure #justintime #jit #transportation #buildbackbetter #psr
This Episode of the Diverging Clear Podcast discusses the big announcement concerning CP Rail  and KCS, a rare preemptive move filed to the STB concerning a proposed lease and opposition to the CSX move to acquire the Pan Am Railway.
In this episode I will breakdown the reasons behind America's seemingly glacial pace at getting new and improved infrastructure built around our country. I'll breakdown the National Environmental Policy Act also known as NEPA and its effects on Federal and State transportation projects. I'll explain the systemic racism that has been at core America's transportation network since the 1950's. I'll discuss a few instances in which the Interstate Highway System was intentionally planned to go through low-income and Black communities as part of "Urban Renewal" and how the Lambert International Airport in Saint Louis took out a thriving Black Town for runway expansion. Have we learned from the past mistakes and are we better prepared to build a transportation and logistics network to meet 21st century demands? I have some answers to these questions. Tune in and find out!!
Infrastructure is always a big time "buzz word" around every election cycle. And each new Administration comes in with ambitious plans to rebuild it in America. The Biden Administration is no different. Most Americans understand that it is necessary to invest in it. But why as nation can't we get it done? We are nearly dead last in the world among developed nations in regards to infrastructure investments. But why? There are a few new rail projects in the planning stages and maybe these projects could be the catalyst to get the infrastructure dollars flowing and return America to a prominence in transportation and logistics.

In Episode 4, I will be discussing the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) receiving the Full Funding Agreement  from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Capital Investment Program for its Double Track Northwest Indiana project and what it means for the Northwest Indiana Region and the funding framework that was used to help make this project come to fruition.
Are your holiday packages being delayed? Can't get a Tracking Number or a exact date for when your Christmas gifts will arrive? I wish I could say that these were isolated experiences, unfortunately this has become the norm for big businesses, small businesses, producers and consumers alike! But why? In this Episode of the Diverging Clear Podcast, I breakdown what's going on at the West Coast's Ports of Long Beach, Los Angeles, Seattle and Tacoma and also what's taking place in Chicago and how its affecting everything from holiday packages to imports and exports. Check it out and don't forget to share it with your friends and family!!
In this Episode we will be discussing the legal battle between the Union Pacific Railroad and Metra (Metropolitan Rail Corporation) over the Purchase Service Agreement that just expired with no agreement in place to continue the service. We will be discussing the History of this PSA, the UP's claim the it no longer has an "common carrier obligation", to continue the service under the same framework that it has in the past. The Podcast hosts, William Moore  and Jemayne Walker will also compare other agreements that an East Coast Class I railroad held but decided to withdraw altogether from providing any commuter rail service at all but used a different more civil exit strategy than the one Union Pacific is trying to employ with Metra.
The inaugural episode of the Diverging Clear Podcast discusses and compares two commuter rail projects. One project in the Midwest, NICTD's West Lake Corridor, is on track to receive the full portion of Federal funding through the FTA Capital Investment Grant Program and is ready to break-ground and the other on the East Coast, Amtrak's Gateway Project, is waiting to get a favorable project rating to move to the next phase of the CIG program. We will discuss the the history of the FTA's CIG program along with an overview of the two aforementioned projects and discuss how and why these projects are in their current phases. This podacst is hosted by William Emery Moore Founder and CEO of EME Rail Solutions LLC and by Jemayne Walker owner and founder of Three Kings Freight Brokerage LLC.
