When we give someone an even's chance of making it out of a situation okay, when it goes wrong do we still feel guilty we did not do enough?

This is an ad lib message of adding my voice to one of many who are calling for peace and love, not hatred and war.

In this week's Gospel reading (Luke 14:1-11), the men of the 2nd US Sharpshooters are told that they must learn to humble themselves to be exalted to be respected and followed. This is a historically inspired sermon.

"The Officer's Duty" is a historically inspired sermon based on my ministry as a reenactor portraying a chaplain of the 2nd United States Sharpshooters, Army of the Potomac, Union Army, during the American Civil War. The sermon bases its theme on Luke 7:11-16, where Jesus Christ raised the widow's son from the dead and how officers and noncommissioned officers must raise "dead" soldiers from their cowardice to fight against the enemy.

Today marks the 19th anniversary of the attack that took place on September 11, 2001. In this first (of hopefully many) podcasts, we shall recall the Parable of the Mustard Seed to help us heal and grow from this horrible attack.
