Jack returns to torment Jake, Julian, and Travis by ranting about the impending threat of AI via a classic story from WWI Britain. In 1917, Elsie and Frances took what appeared to be photos of each other interacting with fairies. While some immediately recognized the photos as fakes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a true believer. Jack talks everyone through the history of the famous hoax, and speculates as to why it is that some so ardently believed in it. Jake, Julian, and Travis challenge themselves to figure out how the photographs were taken and offer insight into whether or not ruining skirts and stockings in creeks is a universal childhood experience across genders.
Tune in to learn the truth behind the Cottingley Fairies, and whether or not an AI-generated fairy named Mr. E is going to kill us all if we don’t celebrate Earth Day.

Maybe the solution to abundant, clean energy isn’t the one that could cause the annihilation of our planet? Sean J Patrick Carney of the Time Zero Podcast regales Jake, Brad, and Travis about the nuclear weird. We trace the radioactive thread connecting UFO sightings at missile silos, the ICE shooter's fallout map, and Big Tech's new romance with the atom. Sean dismantles central myths of the nuclear renaissance, walks us through the Devil's Scenario, and explains why Lue Elizondo owns a restaurant called Bombshells. Eventually we end up at Uranium glass parties to own the libs. It’s another upbeat and definitely not bleak episode of your favorite podcast.

After many requests, Jake, Julian, Liv, and Travis finally sit down to discuss Bugonia, the latest film from Yorgos Lanthimos. In the film, an alien-pilled beekeeper and his cousin kidnap a high profile CEO named Michelle, convinced she is secretly an alien, and interrogate her for the truth.
Pay no mind to what Liv and Julian say at the end; absolutely no jokes were cut from this episode.

Jake, Travis, Jack and Liv examine Jeffrey Epstein’s long-running obsession with science, eugenics, transhumanism, and elite legitimacy. After Travis makes a quick tour through the conspiracy sludge surrounding the files, Jack reveals what the new documents reveal about Epstein’s ties to prominent researchers, Harvard, cloning fantasies, designer-baby schemes, and the strange overlap between scientific prestige and grotesque ideology. Liv unpacks how right-wing figures have tried to spin Epstein’s contacts with doctors and academics into anti-trans conspiracy bait, separating lurid fiction from what the documents actually show. Jake offers a couple of questionable movie ideas.

In 1981 an arcade cabinet began popping up all over the Portland area called Polybius…or at least…that’s the claim. Released by a company called Sinneslöschen, the game used a graphics rendering technology that was impossibly ahead of its time and men in black were reported to be monitoring the machines. Kids that played reported having migraines, hallucinations, and memory loss while others became vehemently anti-arcade. But, just as quickly as the machines appeared, those same men in black soon took them away. No one has seen one since.
In part two of this two-part episode, Jack LaRoche delves into the possible origins of this internet legend. From a South American company commissioning cabinets to be built in Europe to uncovering a pedophile sex trafficking ring, the more Jake, Julian, and Travis hear, the more unbelievable the story becomes.

Fredrick Brennan, the self-taught programmer and type designer best known for founding and then later denouncing the anonymous imageboard 8chan, died on January 10th, 2026. He was 31 years old. We had Fredrick on the QAA podcast several times starting in 2019 and he always had valuable insights into the technical aspects of imageboards, the owner/operators of 8chan, and the history of the internet.
To remember Fredrick’s life, his journey from free speech absolutist to crusader against QAnon and 8chan, and our personal stories of “copypaste,” Travis, Jake, and Julian are joined by Jay Brandstetter, Fredrick’s partner during the last months of his life and host of the I’m From the Internet podcast.

She is joined by guest Katherine Denkinson, who walks us through a story she reported on with London Centric concerning a TikTok account that was posting fake migrant housing rage bait. While editing this episode, more information came to light, so we invited Katherine back to provide an update on the situation, including the motives behind the hateful content.

Jake is retiring from neo-nazi research, but before he gets back to giant squids and time travelers, he's leaving us with a parting gift: a deep dive into The Skokie Affair.
In 1977 Skokie, Illinois had a population of around 70,000 and it is said that 40,500 of them were Jewish. It is for this reason that a thirty-two year old, half Jewish neo-nazi, named Frank Collin, sent the Park District of Skokie a letter asking for a permit to hold a Nazi Parade. The case that followed (Village of Skokie v. NSPA) went all the way to the US Supreme Court leading to a precedent that still stands today.

As Super Bowl LX rolls into Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium, Jake Rockatansky and Travis View are joined by sports writer Arif Hasan (Wide Left newsletter) to dig into one of the NFL’s strangest modern fan obsessions: the idea that the San Francisco 49ers are cursed by an electrical substation.
Over the last decade the Niners have become infamous for suffering from brutal, momentum-killing injuries. This has fueled endless theories about potential reasons for the medical incidents that are causing heartburn among football fans in the Bay Area. Is it turf, training, recruiting strategy, bad luck, or something else?
One rumor has dominated the online discourse: the idea that the Northern Receiving Station, right next to where the pro athletes train and play, is bathing players in “EMF” and making them more injury-prone. We trace how the theory travelled from locker room chatter, to online content creators, to a “board-certified quantum biology practitioner” until it finally had to be addressed by the 49ers administration and NFL’s chief medical officer. This is despite the fact that the idea doesn’t have any empirical support and it doesn’t even make sense upon examination of the timeline of the substation.

"Are you still talking about this Epstein guy?" Yes Donald, we are.
This week Travis has prepared a slough of revelations from the latest DOJ document dump pertaining to nightmare creature Jeffrey Epstein. We’ll cover emails from the likes of Elon Musk, Christopher Poole (aka "Moot"), Richard Branson, and...Xbox? We think Travis may have listened to "Truly Tradly Deeply" one too many times because even he has taken up a little baking in this episode with some encouragement from Liv, Jake, and Julian.
Jake makes the argument he should become pilled again.

Devin Thomas O’Shea transports Travis to Milwaukee, 1932, where Thomas Pynchon’s newest novel Shadow Ticket kicks off with speakeasy intrigue, Depression misery, and a precision-engineered car bomb. Devin unpacks Pynchon’s characteristic hinge-of-history setting, when everyone’s forced to pick sides, as the book’s reluctant bruiser-turned-investigator Hicks McTaggart gets thrashed around by forces he can’t (and won’t) understand.
Shadow Ticket’s paranoia, occult object-mysticism, and explosive politics connect to the real history of American labor violence: the Haymarket bombing and riot, the Bay View massacre, and the 1932 Ford hunger march. What can the novel, probably Pynchon’s last, teach us about our current strange moment in history?

This week we dig into a peacoat-wearing QAnon counter-protester and end up unspooling a whole new nest of open fascists.
First up: pardoned Jan. 6 figure and proud white supremacist Jake Lang, doing street-theater politics in Washington, D.C. at a “crusader rally,” complete with Nazi posturing, bizarre props, and an argument that quickly devolves into the classic far-right pastime: accusing each other of being FBI. We also track Lang’s later appearance near Minneapolis City Hall, where he and his crew clash with anti-ICE protesters, and where his claims about being “stabbed” don’t line up with what’s publicly verifiable.
Then we pivot to a very different attempt at building an “American Reich”: a neo-Nazi “urban wear” merch brand that seemingly springs to life overnight on Instagram. From “Woke Reich” prototypes to explicit Nazi aesthetics, the episode traces the rapid online radicalization of an online creator and how algorithmic attention, engagement, and audience validation can help turn grievance content into an overt extremist identity (with a storefront attached).
Content warning: This episode discusses neo-Nazi propaganda and symbolism, antisemitism, racist rhetoric, and political violence.

If you’ve spent any time on Travel YouTube lately, you’ve probably seen it: grim walk-and-talks through London that portray neighborhoods like post-apocalyptic no-go zones. This week, Annie Kelly digs into the booming “London Has Fallen” genre of online video travelogue. Unscrupulous influencers trawl London’s most diverse neighborhoods hunting for “proof” of civilizational collapse, and reliably finding it in the form of clickbait, racism-by-implication, and algorithm-friendly panic.

Liv, Jake, and Travis grapple with the killing of Renee Good by an ICE Agent in Minneapolis. Though the incident was captured on video from multiple angles, discourse about it was immediately swallowed by a churn of regime spin, conspiracy narratives, and AI-assisted fakery.
To get a better idea of how Department of Homeland Security leadership thinks and operates, Travis interviews independent journalist Ken Klippenstein about internal DHS documents recently leaked to him.
Then Jake gives us his report from the fever swamps. The reactions include the inevitable “paid agitator” allegations and a megaphone-wielding QAnon figure who appears at protests to openly taunt crowds with violent rhetoric.

The new book The Conspiracists: Women, Extremism, and the Lure of Belonging by Noelle Cook offers an unusually intimate look at why seemingly bizarre conspiracy worlds that involve starseeds, ascended masters, and shadowy cabals are powerfully compelling even when they damage the lives of believers. Rather than taking a detached academic approach, Cook traces how white, middle-aged women were pulled deeper into conspiratorial belief systems in the years leading up to and after January 6, through online communities, the pandemic, personal upheaval, and a New Age spiritual subculture fused with far-right politics.
The book follows Cook’s long, complicated relationship with two women in particular: Yvonne St. Cyr and Tammy Butry. Yvonne, from Idaho, sought structure in the Marines after a turbulent childhood, then found a home in the world of conspirituality, where politics becomes divine destiny and January 6 becomes a “spiritual war.” Tammy, from Pennsylvania, carries a history of trauma and instability, including seeing how the real-world betrayal of the “Kids for Cash” scandal harmed her children, making QAnon’s “save the children” framing feel emotionally plausible. Together, their stories show how conspiracism can function as belonging, meaning, and an explanation big enough to encompass their pain.
Travis and Jake talk to Noelle about how her book came together, her relationship with the two subjects, and why conspiracist movements like QAnon can appeal to women over fifty years old.

A new strain of cryptozoology is howling across the internet. It’s less about stuff like “undiscovered birds” and more like “Bigfoot is interdimensional.” This week, we are joined by guest writer Jack LaRoche follow that trail straight into Louisiana’s swampy heartland to meet the Rougarou: a Cajun loup-garou legend shaped by Catholic ideas about sin and control, then transformed through centuries of cultural mixing into something that’s been feared, joked about, and even embraced as a local mascot.
Along the way, we rewind to medieval France to untangle where “werewolves” actually come from, detour through the shaky math and moral panic of the werewolf trials, and trace how the Acadian diaspora and Indigenous storytelling traditions helped remake the monster on American soil. It’s sometimes a trickster, sometimes a warning, sometimes protection.
We end by asking what these stories do: how folklore polices behavior, manufactures outsiders, and rhymes with modern conspiracist fearcraft.
