We head NORTH, and fish an increeeeeeeeeedibly beautiful place in Ontario. Seriously, one for the books - it's one of our fav spots in the province. We had the pleasure of being guided by Brian Still of Stillwater Guiding for the second year in a row. In this episode we chat about throwing big flies on big rods chasing musky, pike, and bass. We have some pretty epic fishing stories in this one - don't miss it! Huge thanks to Barbara, Ryan, and the whole family up at the camp for having us - it was such a treat to be welcomed in and spend time together. We get into the full experience in this one - gear, tactics, the fish, and why Brian is such a great guide. If you’re thinking about making your own trip up there, do it. We sit down with Colby Acuff—country music artist, fourth-generation Idahoan, and former fly-fishing guide. We talk about his journey from guiding on rivers by day to playing music in smoky bars at night, and how the wilds of Idaho helped shape the raw, no-nonsense sound he’s now known for. We get into the making of his breakout record If I Were the Devil, what it’s been like playing with legends, and how it felt stepping onto the Grand Ole Opry stage for the first time. Colby also opens up about staying grounded, staying independent, and how fishing still plays a role in his life—even with all the buzz in Nashville. If you're into authentic country music with a bit of dirt under the fingernails, and stories that roll like a western river, this one’s for you. Find everything Colby, here. We first met him in Colorado at the Fly Fishing Show, and bonded over our shared love for Northern Ontario.  Music & Fly Fishing is an original video series produced by Flylords, a media outlet dedicated to fly fishing culture. The series explores the intersection of music and fly fishing, featuring musicians who are also passionate anglers. We sat with Fred and Seb from HOOKÉ to chat all about a new project and documentary, Scale of Change. This episode was recorded LIVE from the Toronto Sports Show, right in the YETI booth. We got to hear from Seb, a chef, hunter and angler about his outdoor life, and speak to Fred Campbell about Scale of Change... In the upcoming documentary Scale of Change, we explore how individual actions, no matter how small, can lead to monumental transformations for the Atlantic salmon. One person restores a river system. Another removes a dam. Each action is a drop in the bucket, but together, those drops fill it—creating a ripple effect of change that, while not always immediately visible, holds the power to shape the future. If we believe in that shared vision, and have hope, we can make a meaningful difference.   Find SEB on Instagram @foodie_inthewild   HOW TO HELP SO FLY: Please go leave us a review on APPLE PODCASTS. We took a trip up to Brunswick Lake Lodge in Northern Ontario to chase walleye and pike in some incredible waters. Flying in with Hearst Air, we landed in absolute paradise—crystal-clear water, endless structure, and fish that were more than willing to eat. It was an unreal adventure! We always love hitting up the north of our home province. How can you not? If you haven't explored the NORTH, NORTH of Ontario, you should. There really is nothing like it. We recorded on location in the actual OLD POST at the Old Post Lodge, a fishing lodge in Northern Ontario near Pickle Lake. The lodge is FULL of history and wicked fishing opportunities. It was one of the first inland Hudson's Bay trading posts established in Canada. It sits on an EPIC lake filled with incredible fishing opportunities. It's a very, very cool place, AND was a breeze to get to by charter plane from Southern Ontario. We sat with our host for the week, Michael Del Vecchio, an ex-guide and forever friend of the lodge. Michael took us through the history of the lake and lodge, and we chat all about our fishing during or week up there.    Visit Old Post Lodge yourself. Just found this podcast and it's now one of my favourites. As a northern Ontario angler who got their start on the Grand it's always great to hear what's going on where, and their guests are amazing. Really solid and informative podcast with hosts that know what they're talking about.
