We're winding up our third season of 'The Career Growth Podcast'. It has been an exhilarating journey, with many expert guests talking about crucial components of the modern-day workplace such as AI, accessibility, productivity, diversity, and more. In our final episode, we're revisiting the concept of remote work and the implications it has had on young professionals over the recent years. We're moving through an era where we have a new wave of professionals that have accustomed to a virtual workplace setting, often coupled with heightened flexibility. It has essentially eased diversifying team culture and accommodating accessibility. But does it have its flaws? We're beyond excited to invite Katherine Nicholls, Content Creator, Strategist and Podcast Host at Happiful, to detail us about her thoughts on the aspect of working remotely, and what it brings to the table. She walks us through the potential for accessibility at the virtual workplace, employer preferences and job satisfaction in a thriving but ever-expanding remote working environment.
Ever feel like you're stuck in an unproductive loop? Productivity is key, but it's natural to lose that key in a haystack of fatigue, blankness, and in between a hectic schedule. Unlocking productivity is not just about encouraging yourself consistently, but it's also about understanding what stirs a stream of productivity and engaging in it more frequently. To speak more about productivity and understand various measures to streamline it into your work routine, we're pleased to have invited Philip Perry, Content Manager at The ARF, a research foundation to spread knowledge in the fields of advertising and mass media.
How often do you stumble across a woman in the tech industry? 👀 Diversity is a crucial component to ensure different approaches and strategies towards industry, and every industry undoubtedly benefits from the vibrancy of encompassing people from genders, cultures, and other socio-economic backgrounds. 📍 We're pleased to have invited Kayleigh Bateman, Content Director at SheCanCode, to raise awareness of the alarming gender ratio that is prevalent in the tech industry in present times. Kayleigh also shares her insights into encouraging a cohesive environment for more women professionals in tech, right from inculcating better employee retention to picking IT as a career field. 🚀 #tech #womenintech #diversityandinclusion
If you were to tone it down to a singular factor that sets humans apart from AI counterparts, it would be human creativity and an unending quest of curiosity to think differently. Sure, there are momentary slumps that people term differently, from writer's block to creative fatigue, but creativity is ultimately one of the greatest tools for any professional. We are happy to sit down with Wiveka Göransson, Founder of Curious Creator, a company specialising in providing tailored transformations for teams and organisations. Wiveka is here to share her thoughts on creativity and an innate drive for curiosity that should fuel a constant change towards the better.
Do you have the workplace accessibility you deserve? Like every generational change, Gen-Z started their professional journey in the wake of drastic workplace changes, primarily with the shift towards a remote working environment. Accessibility in the workplace has been an underrated provision for employees and we're here to reopen discussions on how companies can effectively initiate better accessibility for their young professionals. To give life to this conversation, we're excited to have invited Maeve O'Briant, Digital Content Creator at Sophie Hayes Foundation, to share her thoughts on accessibility.
Simply put, LinkedIn is unlike the rest. While all social media platforms are almost addictive and immensely gratifying, LinkedIn often adopts a nature of its own, especially for GenZ, where it could look like a loop of seeking validation and providing validation. Beneath the surface level, and beyond the immediate horizon, what does LinkedIn offer that is still irreplaceable to date, and how can young professionals navigate their way effectively to this platform. We're joined by Valeria Ioureva, Career Consultant & Founder of Mind the Grad, and we're excited to share her take on LinkedIn, its necessity in the modern day and how you can leverage a good profile into positively impacting your career.
Interning abroad is a rush of feelings put together. You're suddenly in this place of showcasing professionalism, carrying out activities independently, and at the forefront of a working environment. More often than not, your expectations of an internship abroad might not be properly aligned with how the internship would be. We're excited to welcome Danah Alturkistani, a former intern from Capital Placement and an early career professional, to recount her internship stories from London, and how a realistic picture of interning abroad looks like.
Endorsements, controversy, drama, jazz music, Marketing have it all! Understandably, the marketing industry has always been highly sought-after by many creative graduates and early career professionals. But before you step in to get your head and feet into the hyper-happening industry, how do you identify if marketing is really for you and is still all the jazz? We've invited (yet again!) our favourite Social Media Manager, Angel Zhou, to walk us through her journey starting and growing in her career, and wage her experience in giving tips on how a new marketing professional can do much of the same.
Education, learning and up-skilling are perceived in different ways. Some see it as a prerequisite, like following the instructions before the actual game begins. While others see it as a way of evolution, constantly sharpening their axes, and striving to grow at every checkpoint. Whatever school of thought you're into, it is evident that the modern world demands people who continuously update their knowledge and leave room for growth even at their success. We're excited to welcome Ajinkya Potdar, Capital Placement's very own Senior Operations Manager, to speak more about the topic and walk us through the importance of up-skilling in an ever-changing world.
Job hunting and a new professional, there is no greater love-hate relationship story. 🫶 It is no cakewalk getting that first email reply, or that first LinkedIn notification popping that is NOT a rejection. And if you managed to get one, great job 👏, but it doesn't end there. While there is no perfect formula to crack approaching the job market today, there are budding opportunities and ✨industries✨ in every direction. We are extremely pleased to invite Kristen Sesto, Director of Custom Influence, to shed some light on her 13-year career and walk us through the best modern practices to attain your first job, well and fast.
The wait is over! The Career Growth Podcast is back with a ✨FRESH✨ season of industry insights, sneak peeks and insider info into anything and everything revolving around the professional world! If it was a year ago, we could probably say that AI has struck up the way we work, like lightning ⚡️, but the truth is a year later, AI has settled in, altering everyday operations and activities across all industries. In this era of change and evolution, it does pose a concern that AI is speeding up too fast and an age-old question of whether this change is positively impacting the nature of jobs in creating better opportunities. As the new season’s greetings, we’re excited to have invited Andre Howson, Writer and Creative Director, who’s traversed long in the industry as a creative writer and as a managing director of various media. Andre walks us through his insights regarding the implementation and commonality of AI, and what it means on the larger scale to the future of jobs and the expansion of industries.
It's the last episode of the season, and we're ending with a bang!  Social media has become a staple part of most of our lives, like bread, to feed us with the information we're yearning for, whether it's the new Taylor Swift album announcement or a crazy conspiracy theory you're hooked into. But with the ever-changing usage of social media and a plethora of new platforms spawning every month, it's a big question as to where social media is headed and what purpose would it serve in the future. It's a bit deep, but we're going deeper and more unhinged with this episode. We're excited to invite our very own Social Media Manager, Angel Zhou, to share her honest thoughts on the future of social media, and her take on burning online questions on the journey of social media.  Follow us on Instagram and TikTok
Ah, the world of sales! Can’t bear it, can’t live without it. Sales is a department that has been historically playing around the boundaries of being annoying and being assertive and essential. This is arguably the industry that influenced the creation of spam folders, but it’s also the industry that finalises huge deals and partnerships to the light of day. We all have something to persuade when stepping into the professional world, and for almost everyone, it’s persuading potential recruiters of your talent, intent and ambitions. But whatever it may be, it’s essential to get updated on the latest trends that hover over sales, and what techniques have been polished to perfection in 2024. We’re pleased to have collaborated with Yash Dave, Global Partnerships Associate at Capital Placement, to shed light on the latest techniques and transitions that have occurred in the industry. To discuss the prospect of leadership and decision-making during the sunrise phase of your career, we are very excited to have invited Karen Kim, CEO of Human Managed, a platform dedicated to facilitating and improving decision-making.

The year 2023 is nearing its end, and with 2024 around the corner, you might be thinking about the future of creative work. As a creative, building a thriving career goes beyond raw talent and that remains true today. The major changes we face are the tools we work with and what is required of us in our individual roles.  It’s undeniable that there are some concerns about the usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in creative works—and even more so on the ethical front—but the most persistent worry is “Will creative jobs survive the AI revolution?” This week, we are joined by Ben Youatt, Department Head for Podcasts at Immediate Media, to discuss navigating the new digital world of AI. _______________________________ Read our full blog here: https://capital-placement.com/blog/ai-and-the-future-of-creative-work/ Follow our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/capitalplacement/
