Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk!
After a few month hiatus Colin returns to the hosting chair, along side Josh of course. Together, they discuss the most recent round of PlayStation hardware price hikes and speculate on what this could mean for the launch of PS6 and the impending launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. From there, Josh and Colin dig into a new game that has been getting quite a bit of media attention lately, Crimson Desert. The contentious initial reviews and impressions of Crimson Desert, mixed with some truly positive analysis and recommendations from players make Crimson Desert a great flash point for examining the do's and don'ts of modern game design. Would you play a game that made you initially tap X to run in 2026? What if it's platinum was still unobtained and was speculated to be over 300 hours? Or, does none of that matter because the point of something like Crimson Desert is to allow you to get lost and build your own stories and adventures in its sandbox?
On top of all of that Josh and Colin of course get into some Platinum shout outs, and what they've been playing. Josh has been trying his hand at the aforementioned Crimson Desert and unsurprisingly has quite a bit to say about it. Both Josh and Colin sunk their teeth into Resident Evil Requiem, and Colin has spent a lot of time in the walking sim / graphic novel territory with both Telltales: The Expanse, and Star Trek: Resurgence. As always, we hope you enjoy the discussion. Thank you for listening!
Hello and welcome to another special 5th Sunday episode of Trophy Talk. This time Kevin, Colin, and Zac gather to look back ten years and talk about their game of the year for 2016. Over the course of the episode they take turns counting down their top five games from that year and talk about each one at length. These are all their personal favorite releases from 2016, some of which may sound controversial at first. They go into as much detail as they can (without spoiling anything) and make a case for why each one deserves attention years later. We hope you enjoy hearing them reminisce about one of the best years in game releases and what made it so special.
Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Surviving the Horror!
In this episode Colin, Josh, and Gary gather around the proverbial hearth to discuss one of the biggest horror releases of the year, Resident Evil Requiem. As long time fans of the Resident Evil franchise, we've all been looking forward to this game for quite some time. The prospect of returning legacy characters, deep pulls from forgotten lore, and exciting new revelations in the timeline had us all chomping at the bit to get our hands on this game. But did it live up to the hype? Selling 5 million units in it's first days on the market, and with a 9.4 user score on Metacritic, Requiem certainly seemed to be catching the world by storm. After several playthroughs, and three earned platinum trophies, Colin, Josh, and Gary give their thoughts on what aspects of the game worked well, if the story elements and characters were believable, and importantly if Capcom successfully balanced third person action gameplay alongside first person survival horror.
This is a meaty episode with lots to say about a franchise that is near and dear to our hearts. We hope that you enjoy this review of Capcom's ninth mainline installment in the Resident Evil franchise.
Warmest of Welcomes everyone
This month on the mooglecast the boys are joined by ThePortlandKevin and Fate Prime for the next instalment of the Mini Topics series. Despite all of the technical hiccups the gang endured whilst recording, we managed to have some great discussions on systems and mechanics we wanna see implemented more into video games moving forward, spiritual successors and games a partner would enjoy watching you play. Fate also brings us a classic delete 3 plats/100% from our profiles and have our memories wiped of the chosen games. whether it be deleting games we enjoy so that we can re-experience them for the first time all over again or deleting games that were just downright shite.
Of course as per usual this meaty episode includes our usual run of the show with plat shout outs, the record and the newest update to Cactus Vs Tonberry where Zac is presented with a branching path and Max is served up a plate of his own words to eat.
Due to the technical issues in the latter half of the episode some conversation may not sound quite cohesive and Zac apologises for this inconvenience.
See you again on the 19th April, until then...
Be excellent to each other.
In this episode Kevin talks with Kade (@TheGreenGorillaGamer) and newcomer to the show Kenny Albanese about the beautiful game Gris from Nomada Studio. They break down the game from how it performs as a video game and an art piece, and then go through all of the elements that make up their arguments. They cover the meanings behind the game’s themes and then dive deep into how each chapter illustrates those meanings on various levels. They then each reveal their interpretation of the ending and how it fits into the artistic perspective the game presents. You’ll also hear a few hot takes throughout the episode, but don’t grab your pitchforks just yet. Just like all great art, this game can be seen in many different ways, and no interpretation is wrong.
Join Josh, Kade and Zac...AGAIN... as they continue their reign as the TTP hosts. The crew in this episode have a ton of great, lengthy discussions about the current state of affairs with Sony and Xbox. We additionally hit our thoughts on the Marathon Server Slam and how we feel about multiple playthroughs. To cap it all off, we have the podcast usual topics where we highlight community members with Plat Shout Outs, and dive deep into our backlog goal progress with What We've been Playing. As always, thank you for listening and being a part of this community.
Join Josh, Kade and Mitch as they traverse the very quiet world of A Quiet Place. Based off the hit movies, this game aims to capture the tense fear the trilogy offered. Main topics of discussion include the slow-paced, stealth horror gameplay, all the mechanics, monster design, and story discussion.
Warmest of Welcomes everybody
This month on the Mooglecast; Zac and Max are joined by the controversial one, big skrilly willy Skrillus to talk about some of the crews backlog plans (Pre State of Play) for the year. Max has had the Splinter Cell PS2 trilogy installed on his PS3 since 2013, will this finally be the year he plays them? Will Skrillus finally earn the last trophy for Blasphemous? Will Zac continue to to chip away at one of trophy huntings most prestigious series completions?
During the preshow we catch up on some of the latest platinums earned by the discord community in Platinum shoutouts. Cactuar VS Tonberry returns with a new entry where Skrillus comes out swinging.
And as per usual the boys discuss what they've been playing!
This is a meaty episode so grab a beer and stick on a podcast game.
Next month is the return of Mini Topics Vol 3.
But until then, be excellent to eachother.
Max
As soon as they were done watching it Kevin got Gary (TheSlyGCooper) and Kade (TheGreenGorillaGamer) to give their immediate reactions to PlayStation's February 2026 State of Play. They cover their top highlights, a few missed opportunities, and some write-in reactions from other Trophy Talk Discord members. Kade almost loses his dinner in multiple ways and Gary insists that that we will never actually have a "year of the backlog." This was a quick recording with no edits, so we hope you enjoy this raw reaction to Sony's latest State of Play presentation.
Thank goodness you’re here to catch another episode of the PS Plus Game Club! This time Kevin has KingK6969(Kyle) and FauxRambo(Ben) both from the Trophy Talk Discord to talk about the very funny game out of Yorkshire, England, Thank Goodness You’re Here. After a quick overview of the game’s mechanics, they get into what makes this unique game so special: the humor. They each talk about their favorite gags and running jokes while occasionally (poorly) imitating some of their favorite characters. You’ll hear all about what they loved in this game and what made them laugh the hardest. We hope you enjoy their review of the trip everyone should take to Barnsworth in Thank Goodness You’re Here.
Join Josh with guests Zac and Kade with a K, not a C, as they dive into some hot topics on gaming. Kade and Zac give us their trophy hunting background and goals as they move forward into 2026. Then, the three hosts chime in on the removal of thousands of games from PSN, trophy lists changing across different platforms, boss fights, and what they've been playing. Thank you for tuning in and listening!
Warmest of Welcomes everybody.
Max and Colin have a quick catch up in this bonus episode as a sort of last hurrar before the arrival of his daughter and some time away from the network. We discuss his excitement for the upcoming Resident Evil and how he is going to be making time for it, plans for Platinum 150, what we've been playing and reflective thoughts on the Trophy Talk Network and what the future may hold.
As always, be excellent to eachother.
See you in Feb!
Max
Hey there folks!
Welcome to a special little bonus episode for us here on the Trophy Talk Network. Recently Gary Cooper and I (Colin) happened to be playing through Duke Nukem Forever at roughly the same time. The more we chatted about the game, the more we realized that perhaps this much aligned 2011 game doesn't get the praise it deserves. While the graphics and humor were certainly a bit dated even back when it originally launched, there's something charming about the level design, puzzles, and overall interactivity of the world. So sit back, strap in and join us as we shoot the shit about a sleeper hit from a bygone era. Come get some!
Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Surviving the Horror! In our first episode of 2026, Josh and Colin go all the way back to the distant past of 1995 to talk about Clock Tower: Rewind. While this particular version released in 2024, the original game released in September of 1995 on the Super Famicom in Japan. Clock Tower: Rewind marks the first time that this original game in the franchise has been available in the United States and to a larger audience. As a very retro, point and click style adventure horror game, Clock Tower follows the journey of one Jennifer Simpson, as she and several friends from Granite Orphanage find themselves on the precipice of being adopted by a wealthy but reclusive man named Simon Barrows. Upon arriving at the Barrow's mansion, (also known as Clock Tower due to its most prominent architectural feature), Jennifer is quickly separated from her friends and forced to navigate the mansion to find out just what the hell is going on. Will Jennifer make it out alive? Will she discover the secrets of the Barrow's property? Just how important is this random meat item that she can pick up? All of that is for you dear listener to discover, and for Josh and I (Colin) to elaborate on.
Clock Tower: Rewind is most certainly a retro experience, but it's easy to see the DNA of so many other future horror titles that it would go on to inspire. We hope that you enjoy this look into the past!
Warmest of Welcomes everyone
This month on the Mooglecast myself (Max) and Zac are joined by Trophy Room patron Katieeee to talk about all things 2026 but not without first feeling our bones ache by acknowledging some of the great games that turn 10 years old this year! So happy birthyear Dishonored 2, Dark Souls 3, Overwatch, Final Fantasy XV and Pokemon GO.
For the preshow Katie kicks us off by sharing her experiences and approach to streaming, followed by our usual run of platinum shoutouts and a series spotlight on DOOM, from there we insert a new segment into the show titled Cactuar Vs Tonberry where myself and Zac kick off our friendly comp for the year.
The main Meat & Potatoes of the show are taken up by what we've been playing and of course our main topic discussing our top 5 most anticipated games of 2026.
Enjoy the first show of 2026 and we'll see you next month, but until then... be excellent to each other.

To kick off the new year Brady (FatePrime) joins the show to talk about Somerville, the first game from the indie studio Jumpship. Many on the Jumpship development team come from another indie studio, Playdead, who were famous for making Limbo and Inside, so you might recognize many elements of those famous games here. To start the show Both Kevin and Brady describe what made those early games so special and how they see the DNA of them in Somerville. Then they cover some of the puzzles that either fascinated or frustrated them and some of their favorite story moments in a semi-spoilery fashion. Near the end Brady reveals a theory that helps make sense of all five possible endings and what they mean for the overall story of the game. We wish you a happy new year and hope you enjoy this discussion about just a regular guy trying to survive an alien invasion in Somerville.
Hello one and all, and happy new year!
In this, our first episode of 2026, Josh and Colin gather around the proverbial hearth to discuss our lofty goals and dreams for the year ahead. Will this year finally be the year of the backlog? What game purchases and trophy hunts are must buys for us? What games are we looking forward to the most? We touch on all of these topics (many of which are also touched on from our Patreon write ins), and also give some thoughts on more personal goals for the year regarding parenthood, fitness, and life in general.
Before all of that though, we begin the episode with a look back at our PlayStation Wrap Up for 2025. These statistics are always interesting and provide valuable insight into just how our year went. It's easy to have an opinion about how your trophy hunts went throughout a calendar year but seeing statistics behind it really puts things in perspective. Whether that's Josh's mammoth amount of games played compared to Colin (even though there hours were not so different in total), or coming to an understanding of the average length of our play sessions, this is all good stuff to dig into and dissect.
The episode is rounded out with a great discussion about the various games we've been playing as well as some Plat shout outs pulled directly from our Discord. We hope that you enjoy this first episode of the new year, it's going to be a good one! Happy gaming, and take care all!
Join Colin and Josh as they break down the newest video game in the Alien franchise. In a Surviving the Horror first, Josh and Colin had two very different experiences with the game as Josh played on PSVR2 and Colin played on the newest PS5 flatscreen version. Like most episodes, we go in-depth with our personal histories of the Alien franchise, gameplay mechanics, story beats, lore thoughts and discussion on the ending. While this game was more "action-focused" than we thought it would be, we both agree that it was a solid entry into the world of Alien and it has definitely piqued our interest for Part 2. Join us and let us know your thoughts about Alien.
Warmest of Welcomes everybody and Merry Christmas
The end of the year is a time of relaxation and good company and what better way to celebrate the 2025 christmas break than to have an episode dedicated to just that. Myself (Max) and Zac have given it our all over the first full year of Mooglecast and we thought we'd challenge ourselves to give you guys a full 2hr episode of freestyle, the topic? NO TOPIC! The first of what we hope will be many general chatter! We often start the recording session by having the best conversations before we even hit record and we decided to nip this in the bud and hit record as soon as we got into the call for that extra bit of authenticity!
As far as what subjects are brought up, we talk about our moments of being starstruck, a controversial bass player, holiday plans for 2026 and of course a sprinkle of gaming related crap. In January we will be returning to our usual 3rd sunday slot joinned by newcomer to the Discord - Katieeee, but not before our 2nd xmas gift to you in the form of an extra bonus episode where I will be rejoined by Maurice for part 2 of our Guitar Hero special, but for now we hope you enjoy this special episode!
Be Merry to eachother.
Warmest of Welcomes everybody
This month on the Mooglecast Zac takes the reins in Max’s absence to host the first ever Community Catch Up episode featuring debut voices to the TrophyTalk Network, Emerson and Fate Prime.
In this Informal discussion the lads talk some of their own personal top moments in gaming this year including Blue Prince, Tetris Effect and Trackmania. Whilst the bulk of the show is spent on what the guys have been playing, they also touch on the game awards and some of the trailers shown at the event, we can only assume Max did a backflip with the announcement of 2 Tomb Raider games, to be honest my hype was limited at 3am dare I wake the most vocal dog currently in existence.
I’ve taken the time to make a new audio session for editing the shows, we apologise for the last episode being pretty quiet, hopefully this new template will fix the issue moving forward. But for now please enjoy the last episode of 2025.
Be excellent to each other.
