Big Sam is happy not to be doing a shot of Malört, although Everton’s match wasn’t memorable. But Newcastle and Brentford both put up 3 goal victories despite both going down early. The Sam’s enjoy a classic from the Top 20 of 2018 for Whisky Advocate, Glendalough 18 Single Malt Irish Whiskey finished in Mizunara oak.

A crazy weekend at the top of the Premier League table. VAR turned its ugly head on the West London Derby, City lost their second in a row, and a masterful strike separated Liverpool and Arsenal. Everton and Jack are cruising while Man U needed a late penalty to win against Burnley. Spurs lose, the Irons score 3 in 10 minutes, Newcastle’s drama appears to be over, and Marco Bizot! Finally, Producer Mel has a lot of “fresh air” and reads a list of names, that’s right, it’s the famous smoked out transfer recap! The crew enjoys the Colonel EH Taylor small batch Bourbon.

Chelsea and Arsenal each drop five goals, Villa stumble again, and the weekend is filled with low-scoring matches. But Monday delivered the drama, as Liverpool blew a 2-goal lead only to snatch a winner at Newcastle.

Liverpool’s emotional win over Bournemouth and Arsenal’s gutsy victory at Old Trafford set the tone, while Spurs, Sunderland, and Forest also impressed on the opening weekend. A handful of dull draws left fans with more questions than answers, and Big Sam kicked off the season with a shot of Malört as his club pulled an “Everton That.”

The Premier League is back—and so are the Sams! To kick off the season, the guys bring in 20 supporters representing all 20 clubs for a full-on season preview. From transfer shake-ups to fresh signings, and from where to find your local supporters’ pub to the fan podcasts worth tuning into, it’s all here. This week, they’re sipping a summer-ready mix of Jack Daniel’s Blackberry and lemonade—because football’s better with a good drink in hand.

The final Getting to Know You, the Sams continue their annual tradition of diving into the newly promoted clubs—and this time, it's all about the club that once made Sean Dyche shed a tear: Burnley. 🔥⚽
Longtime contributor Brett returns to the mic as the crew unpacks Burnley’s incredible defensive campaign under Scott Parker (yes, that Scott Parker), and what key additions they’ll need to survive life back in the Prem. Can the Clarets hold the line—or are reinforcements a must?
To toast the conversation, the guys sip on Ko‘olau Bourbon, a smooth, veteran-crafted whiskey straight from Hawaii. 🥃🌺

Each season, the Sams take time to spotlight the three newly promoted clubs—and this episode dives into one of the most divisive in English football: Leeds United. Love them or loathe them, Leeds is back, and longtime listeners David and Lars join the show to break it all down.
From their last stint in the Premier League to their mission to stay up and never look back, the crew talks transfers, tactics, and especially the drama between the sticks. Plus, they sip on a refreshing Tepache—fermented pineapple goodness brewed by producer Mel.

We're kicking off our English Premier League pre-season coverage by spotlighting the newly promoted clubs—starting with Sunderland, who clawed their way back to the top via a dramatic Wembley win. Sam Huston and Sam Gaham welcome their first-ever father/son guest duo, Ken and Chris, for a lively chat full of Black Cats pride and plenty of jabs at their rivals from the “other side” of the Tyne/Wear Derby. From Sunderland’s fall to League One to their triumphant return to the Premier League, it’s a rollercoaster ride of passion and perseverance. And of course, the team is always sipping on something interesting. This week it’s Brixeur Pinot-finished rye whiskey from Oregon.

The Sam’s open with Ipswich, Leeds, and Southampton all winning twice while Foxes dropped 2 points at last place Wednesday.
QPR is almost out of trouble with a couple of big wins. League 1 has seen Pompey move back into first place. Not much changed at the top in League 2 as everyone drew over the midweek. More magic of the cup already has 3 non-league clubs advancing to the 3rd round, and one club with local ties for the boys is in their city of Annapolis.

The Premier League season ends with a bang—five clubs clawing for just three Champions League spots, all separated by a single point. Liverpool lifts their second title, this time with Anfield erupting in celebration. Meanwhile, the Sam’s pay the price for their preseason predictions with multiple shots of Malört, washed down with gin and tonics. Big Sam ups the ante with a trio of truly unholy Malört cocktails. Finally, the guys revisit their preseason picks—spoiler alert: they were hilariously wrong.

The Sam’s open with Palace’s historic FA Cup victory over Man City. Not to be outdone, it was the final men’s match at Goodison Park for Everton, and Jamie Vardy went out in style and with two milestones. Chelsea, Villa, and Forest all get wins. While 8th-place Brighton still have a shot at Europe. The gin binge continues with Aviation Gin and Tonics with a fun twist… pineapple.
