Holy cannoli everyone! I've been sitting on this conversation for over two years, just trying to figure out how I wanted to produce it! Finally, it began nagging at me, telling me that it wanted out in the world...and I listened, and so here you are.Daniel is many things: artist, actor, survivor, advocate, believer, healer, as well as he says, "new age follower!" Coming from a lineage of deep psychic gifts, he is bringing his gifts and his potent stories to US, the listener, because we all need a dose of the magic and medicine he is brewing! Be sure not to miss the extras below because they really round out the episode and Daniel's story.Portland Center Stage stories:Watch "My Father's Son" here.Watch "Deliverance" here.Watch "The Healing" here.To watch that documentary film I was talking about "Another Hayride," click here! Thanks to everyone who listens, but you know what would be really, really groovy? RATINGS & REVIEWS! Please consider sharing the love and leaving a rating, wherever you listen! Here's your bit of beauty everyone: a link to something new I learned this week- the Earth sings! Here is a link to the NASA site where they have a recording of the sweet little song the Earth voices every single day!
It is clear to me that Robin Harris lives close to the soul of the world. She is so steeped in grace, and kindness and in the belief that it is only by banding together will we all survive and thrive. She believes in us, everyone, and urges each of us to do the same!Robin is so many things but for me, especially, it is her connection to the Spirit World and her connection to her ancestors that resonated. They guide her, advise her and guess what? She listens! She is steeped in magic, moves through mystery and her life is just one big miracle after another! I am so glad you all are getting to meet her because AGAIN, she is another reminder that those who are kind and humble are everywhere among us! Everywhere among us!To check out Robin and her work, here is her website! And here's her joyful Insta, check it out!WE HAVE DONE THREE HUNDRED EPISODES EVERYONE!! (and I am including all my listeners in this because if I didn't have you, I would have nothing!) Thank you for all of your messages and support over the years...you have kept me going! Please rate and review...it would mean ever so much!Your bit of beauty is this: to celebrate #300 I am going to post my favorite poem by Rilke, "Go To The Limits Of Your Longing"God speaks to each of us as he makes us,then walks with us silently out of the night. These are the words we dimly hear:You, sent out beyond your recall,go to the limits of your longing.Embody me.Flare up like a flameand make big shadows I can move in.Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror.Just keep going. No feeling is final.Don’t let yourself lose me.Nearby is the country they call life. You will know it by its seriousness.Give me your hand. Now, to all of you out there listening...make big shadows that Spirit/God/Energy/the Universe can DANCE in! xoxo
I was so lucky to have Rand say "yes" to being on this podcast because, simply, he tells a story that is so powerful, and such a good reminder that we can be of service (indeed, as Rand says, that is the ONLY reason we are here) to our family members, to those we care about, our friends as well as the greater world out there and help to make this world a more beautiful place!Rand has had many adventures and truly has lived life with gusto-AND, he was there for his brother when his little brother needed it-mired in grief and moving through the loss of his beloved wife Rand decided then and there that he was going to accompany his brother on the Appalachian Trail, no matter the consequences. He knew his brother needed a helping hand...and so began their journey on the Trail! Filled with comedy, a few scary moments and moments that existed out of time, their trip on the Trail changed their lives, as you'll hear in this conversation, and just might change yours by hearing it!Check out Rand's website here!Buy his book, "A Spiritual Passage, here!I WOULD SO APPRECIATE A RATING OR A REVIEW...THEY HELP MY HEART FEEL HAPPY!Your bit of beauty is this little song by The Three Rivers Singers from Rome, Georgia. It's about the Appalachian Trail, and is really, really gorgeous! Enjoy this melody and I hope it carries you through your week!

Hi all, here is the second episode in our Signs & Wonders series, where people call in and share their mini-miracle stories about moments in their lives that changed them. Friends, meet Nathaniel Turner, our guest this episode, and certified generous, brilliant human being! He and I laughed our way through this conversation and had the best time, for strangers who were just meeting in this world! His story of how community shaped him, how family and friends supported him and had his back...well, it all had me wiping away a tear or two. It just goes to show it takes a village to raise upstanding and kind human beings and to make this world a shinier place! I, for one, am so grateful that Nathaniel is here, in this time, lifting everyone up around him and being the beacon of light that he is.To read up on Nathaniel and his work, click here to visit his website! To take a gander at his Insta, click here! And to read up on Nat Turner, Nathaniel's namesake, click here!Do yourself a favor and become better acquainted with this excellent human...it just might make your day!I'm always asking for ratings and reviews...so if you could, that world be amazing! Thanks, everyone, in advance!Your bit of beauty is this: just one of many videos of humans being good and kind to eachother...this video from "On The Road." A lovely reminder that strangers can sometimes be angels...and that entertaining the stranger can bring unexpected blessings.

I had the very great privilege of interviewing Hilary Momberger Powers this week and to say that her story is about resilience would be the understatement of the century! And frankly, we need to step back and realize something...that Hilary, as you'll hear, is truly the miracle this episode, all wrapped up in generosity and wisdom and kindness and a capacity to forgive, which ties in to her miracle story. She was a child star, who found herself in an impossible situation...and I don't want to ruin it by giving it away, but I just sat back and let her talk, and share, and open up about parts of her life that were heartbreaking and hurtful and still echo down the timeline to today. But she has a story to tell...and I urge you all to deeply hear it. Healing is possible, healing is necessary, and healing is available to us all...we just need to grab the opportunity when it comes to us.To read up on this resilient human, click here!To check out her Insta, click here!I thank her again for being on the show and being her glorious self! Please do rate and review the show, it warms the cockles of my heart! Thank you!Your bit of beauty is this: someone shared today that when asked what his religion was, the Dalai Lama replied, "My religion is kindness." Check out this YouTube about that statement, kindness and compassion, and how it all, ultimately, leads back to the Divine!

David Hunter is someone who lives close to the soul of the world. I say this because his life is made up of synchronicity, of magical happenings and still, a close and dear relationship with his parents, who are no longer in this reality with us. He tells all these stories and more, including one about the day he got let go of his job...and how the Universe stepped in to help him, right away!It behooves us to understand these types of people, those who have faith in the World. They can be excellent models for us, and light a way forward for us to follow. So listen to David and deeply hear what he has to say...magic is abundant and everywhere, we just need to partner with it.To check out David's company, Global Phytoplankton, click here! Please consider leaving a review or rating...they make my heart sing!! Tra lalalalala...see?Your bit of beauty is this cool science mini-doc titled "Why We Owe Our Lives to Phytoplankton" from SciShow and put out by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It'll show you all the ways we owe our lives to this little organism!!

Hi all!I have a really special human to introduce to you this week, AND, it was made super-deluxe special because I got to interview Jesse in person, a very rare experience for me!You'll hear how I met Jesse and how we got to talking and how I convinced him to be on the pod (hint, it wasn't hard, he was very gracious!), and just how he ended up being a traveling musician and spreading his goodness and his talent all over the U.S. His story is a familiar one, but one we need to hear again and again. Sometimes we just need to step off the cliff into uncertainty and be brave, so as to discover the treasure and the possibility waiting for us. And guess what? Jesse shares four songs on the show...unique and fabulous creations from his own mind and heart...so don't miss those! If you want to find out a bit more about Jesse, here is his Insta! His Bandcamp is here AND, here is the link to Spotify and his incredible array of musical offerings!I've decided that amidst all of the bad news and negativity it behooves all of us to remember that there are so many wonderful humans in the world and in fact, they outnumber the naysayers and negative-nellies by 100 to one. (yes, I said negative-nellies!!) Jesse is a prime example of human splendidness, so soak up his generosity, his creativity and his really funny sense of humor. And then remind yourself that the world is a good place. Please consider leaving a rating or writing a review! I would be so grateful if you would do so as it makes my heart happy!Your bit of beauty this episode is Jesse's YouTube and this video, "Taking Off," Jesse's submission to NPR's Tiny Desk Concert. It's groovy laid-backness and sultry style will have you dancing!!
