Don't miss our next episode feature Wednesday "Starting Over & Digital Marketing Wellness" with Korie Wilson.
About @korieraewilson:
Korie Wilson, a Traverse City-based marketing and events professional with a rich career in hospitality, holds a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from @gvsu. With almost 9 years of experience in wedding and event planning, Korie's diverse journey includes roles in corporate travel and as General Manager of a Grand Rapids coworking space, where she first delved into marketing.
After reconnecting with an old flame and moving to Hawaii to be with him, Korie began freelancing in social media and digital marketing. After a few years, the duo was re-stationed in their hometown of Traverse City, where she contributed to a local hospitality group before joining RnR Hospitality, a hospitality group aimed towards serving short-term rentals and vacation homes across Northern Michigan. In her current role, Korie spearheads the marketing and event strategy for the company's portfolio, which features the upcoming Trunkline roadside resort and event venue in Northport and Roost North Rentals, a collection of 9 short-term rentals across Northern Michigan. Korie also still moonlights as a freelance wedding and event planner, taking on a select number of planning clients each season.
Thank you for being on the show, Korie!
The holidays can be tough! Gratitude, a practice that we often use to be grateful for the things in our life. But what about gratitude for people in our lives who are particularly difficult?
Gratitude can also help us when the holidays may be tough, or when we are having a particularly hard time with a friend or family member. Recently, I completed the book "The Magic" by Rhonda Byrne, which was an almost full month daily gratitude practice book that really dove into the practice and different ways that we can do it.
I found this one practice particularly helpful for those difficult moments/people in our lives. I hope it helps you as much as it did me. 💛

If you haven't already heard, I'm moving to Michigan! So many questions have been surrounding this move so I wanted to talk more about it, as well as shoutout some of the organizations that have been instrumental in helping me make this move.
While I've been applauded for getting up and going, I always put so much thought into everything that I do. There have been ups and downs along the way, and of course-it's emotional! Taking time to understand all of the different facets has been key.
The biggest thing I'm after: accelerated growth! I just know that's going to happen for me here in Traverse City, MI.

After much reflection, it really seems that many of the problems of our online experience stem from problems in our offline experience, mainly toxic work culture here in the US.
To change how we feel online we have to examine how our work culture has really taken over our lives. It is starting to feel like the American Dream is really just a dream. There is also this new pervasive movement to live to work, instead of work to live. When did we all start making our job our identity?
The problem is complex, but I believe with awareness and standing up for how toxic work culture really impacts us we can start to move in the right direction.

Join us for another episode of The More You Grow Podcast as we talk with Brandi Mebane, owner of Mebane Design Studio about Branding vs. Marketing, her thoughts on social media, balancing life as an entrepreneur, growth, and more.
Info on Brandi:
Brandi Mebane, Mebane Design Studio Owner and Lead Designer, centers creativity and thoughtfulness in all of her work. Brandi did not arrive at a career in graphic design via a traditional route, and this is perhaps what makes her work so distinctive. With a B.A. in Journalism from Temple University and a M.A. in Publication Design from University of Baltimore, Brandi merges her experience in content development with her technical and creative design skills to bring cohesive and visually stunning brand identities to life. After working in various communications and creative roles, Brandi ditched the traditional career trajectory and launched her own graphic design business in 2016. In that time, Mebane Design Studio’s success has been marked by projects such as the team branding for Delta AirLines’ LaGuardia Terminal rebuild project, The Nielsen Company African American trends report social media toolkit, and Cream of Nature’s Color Crush Live event and their Essence Festival social creative. Over the past 4 years, Mebane Design Studio has helped over 150 businesses generate income, share a talent or service with the world, or create an opportunity for their communities.
