In this heartwarming and insightful episode, I sit down with one of my mentors, Dr. Dicken Bettinger, to explore the liberating wisdom of the 3 Principles. We dive into the common experience of Adhd'ers (and non-Adhd'ers) getting caught up in our thoughts, believing they're real, and how we can gently find our way back to a more peaceful, present state. *Key Takeaways:* - How our thinking creates our experience, and how we often mistake our thoughts for reality - The simple yet profound understanding that we're not our thoughts, and how this realization can set us free - Practical examples of how we've both gotten caught up in thought loops, and how we've learned to recognize and shift out of them - The beauty of realizing we're not alone in this – we all do it, and it's okay. In episode #177 of "The Fearless Now," Sam Led and Dr. Brody Miller dive into the complex relationship between AI and brain health. Dr. Miller shares insights on how AI can both support and potentially harm brain health, particularly in areas like neuroplasticity, cognitive function, and mental wellness. On the one hand, AI can be a powerful tool for brain health, offering personalized interventions, cognitive training, and support for conditions like anxiety and depression. However, excessive AI use, particularly screen time and social media, can lead to increased stress, decreased attention span, and even changes in brain structure. Dr. Miller highlights the importance of mindful AI use, emphasizing the need for balance and boundaries to protect brain health.

In today's episode the emotional swings often seen in ADHD ("ADHD mood") can be better understood not as fixed traits or flaws, but as moment-to-moment experiences created through thought. Thought: Individuals with ADHD often experience fast-moving, intense thoughts, which can lead to rapid mood shifts. According to Banks, moods are not caused by external situations or diagnoses, but by our own thinking in the moment. Consciousness: This principle explains how we become aware of our moods. For someone with ADHD, increased awareness can create space between stimulus and reaction, allowing for more perspective and less identification with fleeting emotional states. Mind: This represents the deeper intelligence behind life. Regardless of how chaotic moods may feel, the Principle of Mind suggests that there is an innate well-being underneath — untouched by the storm of thought.

Her next career was as a Green Building Consultant, in which she worked with commercial building project teams to create more sustainable buildings. Her next career was as a full-time mom. She loved being at home with my kids, Eva (now 15) and Jacob (now 19). Nina volunteered in the schools, and supported all their activities and interests. Now, with Nina's kids in a new stage of life and needing her in different ways, she is returning to counseling and coaching. With over 20 years of clinical experience, time and time again, Dr Bishara has discovered that the connection between these systems plays a significant role in disease prevention and management, but it has not been adequately addressed. Consequently, her therapy involves a multidimensional and personalized approach that addresses multiple physical and biological factors, while focusing on strengthening the body's immune system. In today's episode I had the great opportunity to speak with comedian Galina Rivina (www.galinarivina.com) about her ADHD diagnosis and how ADHD has helped her be a better comedian. Galina Rivina is a comedian and writer based in Los Angeles. Originally born and raised in Ukraine, she made it to the U.S. just in time to not have an irksome soviet accent. However, childhood as an immigrant has an undeniable influence on her writing - as does being a woman, navigating life as a millennial, and the day-to-day havoc of human existence. It's suspected that the lingering Chernobyl exposure gave her one-liners and short form storytelling that bit of the razzle dazzle. She has been performing stand-up all over the country for nearly a decade. Headlining in comedy clubs across the US and abroad, including the 2022 Cleveland Comedy Festival, the 2024 Netflix is a Joke Fest, and most recently opening on the road for Preacher Lawson. She has written for renowned standups, including Nikki Glaser and wrote for the 2019 Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin. She also hosts a weekly podcast; Galina Rivina Podcastina.

This is a common problem with Podcasts, when the host doesn't push back on any claims and just gets steamrolled into being a overly accomodating platform. "99% of Adderall use in the US is abuse" Where did that stat come from? "Run the most successful clinic, be on TV, make a million dollars." Not only are these goals that are not synonymous with being a good clinician, but what is even the metric for "most successful "? This is cowboy psychology and you should do better.
that Schwarzenegger bit lost me. This guy is a nut.
