The time had finally come when the children of Israel were on the outskirts of the land of Canaan. The promised land. They were finally so close to the land that Jacob left all those years ago to make his way to Egypt to have refuge from the famine. Moses had a plan to send spies into the land to give a report to the entire camp. In this episode, we will be discussing Numbers 13-15 and discussing the account of the 12 spies who went into Canan.

The Book of Leviticus. The book raises a lot of questions. What was the purpose of this book? Why is this book in the bible? Why were all these laws given and how relevant are they still? And these are only some of the questions that come to mind when the book of Leviticus is brought up. This book has gotten a bad rep in recent years and its actual purpose gets lost and misconstrued. The book of Leviticus' purpose was God providing a pathway to live amongst his people in a safe way. But to not steal away from the episode that's all I will say for now. Moses broke the stone tablets in anger when the children of Israel were worshipping the Golden calf. He now had to return to the top of the mountain to receive new tablets and further instructions. In this episode, we are discussing Exodus Chapters 33 - 40.

Moses had been on Mt Sinai for some time now, receiving the laws for the nation to live and be governed by. However, at the base of the mountain, The children of Israel started to fall into their Egyptian ways. They made a golden calf and began to worship it. This made God very angry. This week there is a shift from the laws to govern the society moral, now the focus is on a place for the people to worship God and a place for his presence to dwell amongst them. The laws of Sinai were more than just the 10 Commandments. God gave the Israelite Nation laws to rule and govern a thriving society. These laws range from personal injury, caring for the poor, personal injury, and even laws of justice and mercy. They were a nation, in fact they were God’s Holy Nation; His holy People. It was time for God to meet with his people, show them his divine glory and give them his divine laws. Nine plagues have already been unleashed on the land of Egypt and yet Pharaoh remained determined that he would not let the Israelites go and worship their God in the desert. Now God was about to let loose one final plague. This plague was not like the others, this one would affect both Israelites and Egyptians alike. Moses who was once reluctant, was now on his way to Egypt after an encounter with God at the burning bush. Moses’s aim was to ask Pharaoh to let the people go to worship God. The Promised King, the Messiah, the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ is laid down his life for the sins of all humanity. We will be examining and discussing Matthew chapters 26 - 28 and the events surrounding the Crucifixion of Jesus.

Moses, a Hebrew baby, drawn out of the water by the princess of Egypt. He was able to be raised by his birth mother and then was turned over to the princess to be brought up as Egyptian royalty. He had his plan own how he would save his people. By as we see when you take matters into your own hands and not rely on God things have a ways of going South. In this Episode we will pick back up on the story of Moses in Exodus 3 to 4. And we are going to explore God introducing himself in a spectacular way to Moses and learning of the plan and purpose God still had for him.

This week we also have a special guest joining us, Peter Lublink who is the Executive Director of Bethany Kids organization. BethanyKids is a compassionate Christian mission transforming the lives of African children with surgical conditions and disabilities through pediatric surgery, rehabilitation, public education, spiritual ministry and training health professionals. Together we will be exploring the significance behind the book of Exodus or The Book of Names and this understanding will set the stage for the rest of the book.
