Jesus meets the disciples in the evening of Easter Sunday to reaffirm and explain the truths about Him that they knew but had lost sight of in the trauma of the crucifixion.
Tim Stone speaks about how Jesus is always with us and working for us, even if we don't always recognise him or feel his presence. Sadly the first few minutes of the talk were lost due to technical issues. We pick up where Tim is talking about the two disciples on the road with Jesus and how he taught them and restored their hope, even though they didn't realise who he was.
David Short examines the evidence for the resurrection presented in the Bible itself and in external sources, illustrating why proof of Jesus' being raised to life again is indeed a challenge to the sceptic.
David Short talks about Jesus' entry into Jerusalem with all the cheering crowds and then thinks about what happens when the people have left. What choices do we make when the crowds have left? Do we choose to follow Jesus or not?
David talks about the importance of diligence - persistent effort - in growing in wisdom.
David talks about the parent-child relationship, looking at it from both sides, considering the need for parents to guide and discipline their children and children to honour their parents.
David talks about sex and temptation, about turning relationships into commodities where social relationships are devalued.
David speaks about anger, how it can be hugely destructive but is also a characteristic of God.
Tim Stone speaks about envy, the effect it has on us and how to recognise and counter envy.
Geoff speaks about the importance of forging friendships and the strength in friendship.
David talks about the importance of humility by exploring the risks and dangers of its opposite: pride.
David speaks about using wisdom in what we choose to say and not say, also in how we speak our words to be a blessing.
Tim Stone talks about the wisdom of caring for our world on loan to us from God.
David speaks about using wisdom like a compass to give us true direction, avoiding wickedness and temptation.
David talks about the desirability and the search for Wisdom.
Geoff speaks about using the Christmas story as an inspiration for the following year.
David speaks about peace being a gift from God
Carol speaks about the simplicity of being generous, repenting of holding on to wealth when other people are in need.
John Barringer talks about how to search out joy and contentment through the simplicity of a relationship with Jesus rather than the lure of contentment through having more stuff.
David talks about the importance of controlling what we say and how we speak so that our speech is a blessing to other people (and ourselves) and not a curse.
