In Danny's rightful ire about the LW's suggested forced sterilization of her developmentally disabled daughter, he failed to give her any actual advice. The LW didn't write in because she is uncomfortable with her daughter having sexual feelings or potentially being sexually active, the LW wrote in because she doesn't want her developmentally disabled daughter to get pregnant and have a baby neither the daughter nor the parents are in a position to care for. Danny offered literally NO advice about the LW's actual problem.

I really wish you would have advised the woman who was having an “affair” with the older man to cut off all contact with him and seek therapy before talking to her husband. She was manipulated, controlled and potentially sexually assaulted by an older man. There are so many reasons why she keeps coming back to him- but a huge reason could stem from why they slept together in the first place and the dynamics of such an unhealthy and unbalanced relationship. She may see him as a protector figure or feel special that he “picked” her when he had considerable more wealth, status, and the perceived ability to have whomever he wanted. I don’t know what a trained counselor would say but it seems like she was groomed by this older man and once she gets some help and clarity to see what happened - she might be able to stay away from him and work in her marriage without her husband knowing. This is not your “garden variety” infidelity where “coming clean” is the best policy. I agree with most

I'm leaving this podcast behind. Between the podcast and the website I can't handle how much Daniel has continued to stray further and further from the letters and deeper and deeper into his own opinion. Daniel doesn't get to decide what the letter writer must have actually intended rather than what the letter writer said. I truly hate just how much Daniel makes excuses for the people in the letter rather than just responding to what the question refers to.

I just want to say I was in that relationship! I understand her feeling like she would be a monster to leave, I felt the exact same way. He wasnt like that before his disease but I had to endure the abuse for a long time before I realized" i dont deserve this!" You dont deserve this either. It only got worse before i finally called it quits. It got to a point where he was calling me names daily. He never laid hands on me but sometimes emotional is worse. Its hard but you need to go while you still can.
