From executive producers Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) and Rooney Mara (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo), The End of Medicine is a new feature length documentary that exposes the underreported link between global pandemics, the failing of antibiotics and our use of animals. The film follows former factory farm livestock vet and whistleblower Dr. Alice Brough, who we chat to today, as she grapples with the enormity of animal agriculture and the key role it has played historically and currently in not only killer diseases and pandemics, but climate change and environmental destruction as well.  With expert interviews from industry insiders, government advisors, politicians, premiere scientists and leading doctors, The End Of Medicine sounds the alarm few have heard. Directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Alex Lockwood (73 Cows), who also joins us for this episode, and producer Keegan Kuhn (Cowspiracy, What The Health), The End Of Medicine examines the often ignored WHO and CDC warnings that if we don’t change, we are at the end of medicine as we know it. US viewers can watch now on AppleTV/iTunes. The film will be available to watch in the UK in spring 2022. Today we're joined by Hench Herbivore, otherwise known as body builder turned personal trainer Paul Kerton and his partner Gemma Nichols – a nutritionist. Gemma shares the story of how she suffered from exhaustion,  depression and acne and spent years trying to work out what was wrong before turning to whole food, plant-based eating. She noticed results straight away, regaining her health, energy and losing excess weight.Paul tells us how Gemma inspired him and, despite being a huge meat eater with concerns about losing muscle mass, he slowly went plant based and is now a vegan personal trainer and nutritionist with almost 60,000 YouTube subscribers. We discuss what foods we should eat to keep our guts healthy, what to avoid if you want to manage your weight, the protein debate and how to bulk up if muscle mass is on your agenda. Brilliant podcast about veganism and plant based healthy, food and news. The hosts and the guests are not preachy at all. just two down to earth humans. The news and topics covered are informative, interesting and varied. A great listen each week to learn further about veganism and relates topics. You do not need to o be vegan to listen to this podcast but I think it would help anyone become a more rounded informed individual who might transition to eating less meat products even it is as simple as drinking a non dairy milk or not eating meat one day a week.
