Description
The best antagonists reveal the truth to the audience, and that's our goal when we discuss movies. We can be nice, and we can be brutal, but we're always revealing the truth about the movies we watch. This is "The Antagonists", featuring Andrew Sutton and Ryan Sisk.

GET TO THE CHO-.... umm, horse?
Welcome back! This week we're reviewing Prey. We'll talk about how beautiful this movie's setting is, the plot (or lack thereof), and how we're happy to watch a movie where the dog doesn't die.

"I JUST WANNA DRAG JURASSIC WORLD SO HARD!" - Andrew, growing more frustrated with bad sequels to great movies/franchises
Welcome back! This week, we're reviewing Jurassic Park. We'll talk about the blend of practical and CGI effects and how they still hold up today, we'll talk about Jeff Goldblum (obviously), and Andrew will go on a small rant about the new Jurassic World movies.

This week, we're reviewing Everything Everywhere All at Once. We'll talk about this movie's perfect B plot structure, how multiversal demons are the cause of homosexuality (according to Evelyn), and the theme of Nihilism vs Existentialism.

*Extra Content Note:
Early in the episode I (Andrew) mention that the first shot of the movie is a reflection of all the themes and lessons into one simple shot, then promptly forget to explain it at the end despite noting that I needed to remember that. So, if you've watched the episode, here's the explanation. Evelyn, in this shot, is making meaning out of the simplest evening. It's her and her family, having fun with a silly karaoke machine in their living room. It's not glamorous, you could even say it's meaningless, but they're all clearly enjoying it because they're together. That is the significance of that shot.
There's no witty caption today, it's a sad day. This movie is just... bad.
This week we're reviewing Thor Love and Thunder. We'll be talking about the many flaws within the script, how it turned Thor into a joke (and not a particularly funny one), and of course we'll give Christian Bale his flowers since he is the one redeeming factor in this movie.

Mom... so sorry. Hopefully you get some great fan mail though!
Welcome back! This week we're reviewing 1917. We'll talk about the difficulties of shooting a one shot, how this movie's audio deserves as much praise as it's cinematography, and the how this film portrays the heroics of war.

"Let's just touch tips and call it good." - Ryan, definitely talking about lightsabers
It's been a little while, but we're excited to say WELCOME BACK! This week, we're talking about the unfortunately underwhelming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. We'll talk about the shallow dialogue, the lack of nuanced conflict, and of course the Leia chase scenes (and why she's obviously the fastest being in the Galaxy).

"Rawwwwwwwwwr" - Godzilla, probably
Welcome back! This week we're talking Godzilla vs Kong, and we'll talk about the tight pacing, Hollow Earth (or Middle Earth as Andrew likes to call it), and why Mecha Godzilla didn't quite work in an otherwise great movie.

Episode 2 of Monster Month, we're visiting everyone's favorite man eating shark!

"Jones is the real villain!" - Andrew, insisting that the cat is a bigger nuisance than the 7 foot murder monster
This week we're talking one of the best horror/monster movies of all time: Alien.
We'll talk about the slow burn aspects, we'll make cat lovers hate us, and in the themes Andrew will make Ryan hate him!

This week we're talking about three big upcoming movies: Godzilla vs Kong, the Snyder Cut, and Mortal Kombat. We're reacting to the trailers and talking about whether we're excited for these movies, and what we think has to happen for these movies to be successful.

We might get cancelled for this episode, but a little dark humor never killed anybody... it might make fun of dead people but it's not like we can offend them.
This week we talk about how visceral the kills are without ever being seen, three corner opposition, and how apathy is the backbone of this entire movie. Also, if Andrew is gone for next week his FBI agent took him.

GODZILLA VS KONG! We can't wait, but for this episode we'll talk about one of the films leading up to the big fight - Kong: Skull Island.
In this episode we talk about one trope that needs to die, how the filmmakers made Kong look awesome in this movie, AND how there's a different Kong story we'd like to see.

We're either geniuses or morons, because we've discovered a possible connection to a different toy based franchise in this movie.
In this episode, we talk quite a bit about how the fresh take is both good and bad for Chucky, and how we could end up with a movie starring everyone's favorite murder doll and everyone's favorite cowboy toy.

American comedies: take notes. Today we're talking about Hot Fuzz, one of the best comedies ever.
We'll talk a lot about the cinematography, the intentionality behind the jokes, and why American comedies need to step it up.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... gosh we love the OG Star Wars films.
In today's episode, we're talking about why the OG Star Wars is so good, we're breaking down the Monomyth structure (AKA The Hero's Journey), and HAN SHOT FIRST.

The lasso of truth is cheating. Ironic no?
Wonder Woman 1984 was just... bad. Between confused character arcs, an overstuffed plot, and PPP, (what is that you may ask? Listen to find out!) this film stepped up to the plate and forgot the bat. But, we still had fun making fun of it!

"OH PISS OFF!" - Andrew to the Emperor
In this episode, we talk about tripping on nothing, "THIS IS A STRONG MESSAGE!!!", and an alternate ending that could (maybe) make the themes and climax more satisfying.
If you're enjoying the podcast and would like to leave a review, we would appreciate that! Also, if you'd like to follow us and interact with us on Twitter our handle is @antagonists_pod
"YOU SACK OF WINE!" Best. Film. Insult. Ever.
The 2004 film "Troy" starring Brad Pitt is a Greek Epic come to life. It certainly has it's flaws, but it's a well layered and entertaining movie. Just as Achilles wants to be remembered throughout time, this is a film that deserves to be remembered for years to come.

"Now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb. - Dark Helmet" - Ryan Sisk
I have no idea how we got to talking about Space Balls, because this weeks episode is all about the man who started the MCU: Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man. In this episode we talk about Yinsen being THE MAN, why Obadiah might have actually done the US a great service, and the best way to set up a final conflict.
If you want to interact with us, then follow us on twitter @antagonists_pod to talk about more films and have a good time.
A long time ago, in a gala-, wait no that's not right. This week we discussed Ad Astra, James Gray's space drama about an astronaut son looking for his astronaut dad. It was very intimate, yet strangely busy at the same time.
In this episode, we talk about space primates, good ole capitalism, and a big underlying theme that nearly brings Ryan to tears.
