Genesis 2:1-3 (KJV) 2 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. 2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Summary: Genesis 1: 24-25 God Creates the Beasts of The Field and Woods 24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.   Recorded: Oct. 29, 2021 (Gatlinburg, TN – USA) Based in Richmond, VA, Plain-Spoken Grace is a semi-monthly video podcast produced and hosted by Chip Forbes. Summary: The first creatures God made after He formed this earth with its atmosphere, lands, seas, and plantlife, was fish and fowl – from the greatest whale to the smallest hummingbird. Any life of any kind that lives in the water is made at this point. The language allows that this may be the time God made flying insects as well; however it is possible they were made on Day 6. All these creatures are made with the ability to perpetuate their species by reproduction. The creatures made on Day 5 are the first creatures blessed by God. The Whale Song heard at the end is courtesy of https://soundcloud.com/iwhales. What strange yet soothing sounds. Genesis 1: 20-23 20 20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. 21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. _____________________________________________ Recorded: Oct. 29, 2021 (Gatlinburg, TN – USA) Based in Richmond, VA, Plain-Spoken Grace is a semi-monthly video podcast produced and hosted by Chip Forbes. Which came first, the Earth or the stars? The Bible answers this in Genesis 1:14-19 - Day 4 of creation. (or does it?) Genesis 1:14-19 KJV And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.   _____________________________________________ Recorded: Oct. 29, 2021 (Gatlinburg, TN - USA) Based in Richmond, VA, Plain-Spoken Grace is a semi-monthly video podcast produced and hosted by Chip Forbes. The first in a new devotion series, Chip takes on the historical and scientific truths found in the first 2 chapters of the Book of Genesis. For decades secular academics have scoffed at the biblical account of creation, dismissing it simply as a myth. But more and more scientific discoveries are proving that the pages of Genesis have been true all along. Follow along each week as Chip walks though the scriptures one creation day at a time. Genesis 1:1-5 (KJV) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. _____________________________________________ Recorded: Oct. 29, 2021 (Gatlinburg, TN – USA) Based in Richmond, VA, Plain-Spoken Grace is a semi-monthly video podcast produced and hosted by Chip Forbes. We focus on encouraging men to spiritual growth through the pursuit of Christ-centered lives and biblical alignment. Chip takes a look at Acts 20: 24-30 and echos Paul's warning to the Church to be on guard, as there will be wolves that arise among the flock, seeking to draw them away.   Acts 20:21   "But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God."   cont. in 29-30   "I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them."   _____________________________________________ Recorded: Oct. 6, 2021 (Virginia Beach, VA USA)   Based in Richmond, VA, Plain-Spoken Grace is a semi-monthly video podcast produced and hosted by Chip Forbes.   We focus on encouraging men to spiritual growth through the pursuit of Christ-centered lives.   More at https://www.plainspokengrace.org Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/asVDoqL5fiI

Continuing from the last devotion "Saved," Chip picks up with a similar thought regarding being transformed and how challenging it is to "be still" and allow the peace of God to find and speak to you in the daily hustle. Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." _____________________________________________ Recorded: Oct. 6, 2021 (Virginia Beach, VA USA) Based in Richmond, VA, Plain-Spoken Grace is a semi-monthly video podcast produced and hosted by Chip Forbes. Chip explores the word "saved" and being saved. What does it mean? Well, this is a question for the ages. However, the Bible speaks to this very topic extensively. Chip offers some thoughts on the matter.   Isaiah 30:15 For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” But you were not willing,..' John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God." _____________________________________________ Recorded: Oct. 6, 2021 (Virginia Beach, VA USA) Based in Richmond, VA, Plain-Spoken Grace is a semi-monthly video podcast produced and hosted by Chip Forbes. Gratitude...If you are reading this video description, then there's no doubt you have so much to be thankful for. Chip steps back and surveys his blessings, even the very air we breath. Be encouraged to thank God for his blessings in your life and make it point to never take them for granted. Sources for this devotion: Luke 17:11-18 11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” 14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” ______________ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 16 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. _____________ Recorded: Oct. 6, 2021 (Virginia Beach, VA USA) Based in Richmond, VA, Plain-Spoken Grace is a semi-monthly video podcast produced and hosted by Chip Forbes. Devotion | Healing

Devotion | Healing

2021-11-1902:52

This is perhaps one of the best descriptions of the what Church should be about these days. Singing praises, praying, praying for and confessing to one another, and receiving forgiveness and healing. Chip reads and offers encouragement on a couple of passages pertaining to the topic. James 5:13-16 13 Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer offered in faith will [c]restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, [d]they will be forgiven him. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. 1 Peter 2:24 ...and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. ______________________ #healing #weeklydevo #devotional More devotions on this channel and at https://www.plainspokengrace.org

Devotion | Hypocrite

Devotion | Hypocrite

2021-11-0504:07

We’re all hypocrites! In Matthew 7, Jesus talks about logs and specs. But in 1 Corinthians Paul speaks about the supremacy of love. Matthew 7:3-5 3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how [b]can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body [a]to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Contentment seems harder and harder to find these days. Chip talks about his "secrets" to being content. 1 Timothy 6:8-9 8 If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. Isaiah 30:15 For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” But you were not willing... ____________________________ More encouragement for your faith on this channel and at https://www.plainspokengrace.org #weeklydevo #contentment #dailydevotion
