Episode 9: 2020 Rewind

2020-12-2836:20

2020 definitely isn't the year for everyone. However, despite all the depressing events that simultaneously occurred throughout the year, we look back on the beautiful things that happened this year.
Oppression towards members of the counterculture, specifically those involved in sex work, is still notorious despite our generation being considered "progressive." In this episode, we try to be a platform where we can have an open dialogue regarding the normalization of sex education, and how sex work shouldn't be kept in the dark!
Gwen is coming in hot! As her first time moderating, she puts "tha boiz of tha bay" on the hot seat. See how she dismantles the guys as she asks spicy questions about their dating life! Get ready for some hilariousness, and maybe a "food for thought" on the side!
Welcoming the newest member of "Tha Culture", join us as we dive into the grandiose, and eccentric culture of streetwear! Get to know its history, its influences, and the different nuances that come with being one with the streets! There is definitely more to streetwear culture than what meets the eye!
On this episode we discuss the very controversial "Filipinx" movement and how much it impacts our fellowmen back home in the motherland - what some tend to forget is that the backstory of the movement and how it came about; pretty much what most Filipino Americans are striving to fight for, everyday here in the US.
This is the second part of the two-part episode 4 - here we discuss the other type - the other stereotype - the American type. Like the first part, this episode was all based from our crowd sourcing and own research. For part two we discussed and explained some of the American stereotypes from the eyes of the Filipino people and us being here in the US, we decoded and dug deeper to these types and explore about it more.
On this two-part episode 4 the boys talk about stereotypes; What types? The Filipino ones. Know what is true and what is false (or kind of true?).  *Credit to Mike Hanopol's Laki Sa Layaw*
For this episode we venture on the wonders of our music tastes and share our opinions about our beloved OPM (Original Pilipino Music)
So we got the ball rolling and got to episode 2, and that makes this podcast a real thing for us. Join us as we share our educational backgrounds and how we made it to where we are today in the workforce here in the US of A.
Welcome to our first episode of Adobo Culture, here we give our listeners a little preview of what to expect from our podcast with a small "kamustahan" and getting-to-know-you stage. This episode also features a glimpse of how the three of us adjusted to the American culture when we all first started living here in the US.
